  • Frodo's facial expression doesn't say "oh god this is terrifying", it says "WHY IS THIS GIVING ME A BONER"

  • Cate Blanchett is amazing!

  • Cate's voice just kill me!!! ><

  • 2:01 PMS kicked in

  • You passed the test?

Bullshit, what the hell was all that despair stuff about?!

  • Is this the extended version of the film? I don't remember this scene in the films.

  • Is is wrong that hearing the audio and imagining how the scene would look makes it "look" way more epic than the actual visuals?

  • @2:34 "...on second thought, maybe I'll just hold onto it."

  • Luna

  • alright, pervert comment incoming

if she desires the ring so badly, i would leave middleearth die, put the ring around ma balls, and make her try to suck it off every few hours :3

  • @Shetyre :O

  • Pshh, that's not what's gunna happen if Mordor takes over...that's what's gunna eventually happen if PIPA and SOPA succeed! Yeah, that's right! I brought it to youtube!!!!

"By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you STAND!"

  • Am I not the only one who thought this was hilarious? Every time I watch the movie and this part comes up I can't help but laugh.

"ALLL SHALLL LOOVE ME AND DESPAIRRRRR!"

  • Rarity approves.

  • my first elder scrolls game is Skyrim.. first tought: OMG IT LOOKS LIKE LORD OF THE RINGS!!!

after playing I saw episode of MLP chistmas carol.. my tought now: OMG PONIES REMIND ME OF SKYRIM!!!

yeah.. Skyrim and ponies blew my mind

  • @ztevany wut the hell......

  • Bitch is achin ' to get married!

  • These ponies have taken over the youtube comments.

I for one welcome our new pony overlords.

  • Thumps up if Lord of The Rings brought you here.

  • @Quicksilver1111

WTF is Lord of the Rings?

  • I love how on every video, the top comments are pony comments

  • PONIES PONIES PONIES SWAG

  • The three dislikes are from orcs.

  • luna did such a much more better job

  • Something tells me that the corruption of Galadriel would make for a much more epic and fascinating movie.

  • 3 people dont like ponies

  • This video is now PONIES.

  • Bronies, we've finally done it. We've got pony vids linked to LOTR clips, mission accomplished.

  • Since however long this clip has been here, the two top comments have been from last month, both about ponies, both over two hundred thumbs ups.

  • ALL SHALL LOVE ME AND THIS PEAR!

  • @Blacaca180 literally rolled on the floor laughing

  • 1:55 for the part that everyone came here for.

  • I wouldn't mind being ruled by a hot queen like that.

  • This video is now about ponies. Have fun with that.

  • wtf is all the fucking pony stuff everywhere?

  • @HollisKidDragonclaw in the newest season, episode four, there's a pony named Princess Luna who TALKS JUST LIKE THAT.

there's a parody somewhere on youtube.

  • @HollisKidDragonclaw yeah I'm seriously confused...is there a pony named galadriel or something..??

  • @Zeelchetoe No, but there's one called Luna who speaks in a similar voice, hence the connection.

  • @DarkDavie Ahh okay, huh. Thanks! Heh, I saw the video with the audio from this clip over one of a crazy angry lightning pony but thats it.

  • That scene scared the crap out of me first time I watched it! Jeesh, relax, it's just a ring!

  • @TheMoreTheMerrier21 Its been burned into my memory ever since I walked into the room at the wrong time xD she has a good voice though my goodness...

  • @TheMoreTheMerrier21 which scared you more though? this one or when Bilbo freaks out when he sees the ring around Frodo's neck at Rivendell?

  • roflmao

i was kinda used to the Bakshi film by the time ive got to see the Jackson ones,

then this scene came up and i was like THA FLYING FUCK??

  • mlp reference as top comments!?

    HELL YEAH!

  • My work is the first related video. And it over has 50k views. HOLY TITS!

  • Top two comments MLP:FiM related? Internet takeover in progress.

  • @MrSpaghettioes I think we're a little past "in progress."

  • Oh the horror... the pure unadulterated 240p horror

  • magnifique galadriel :)

  • Duh, Galadriel the Adventurer from the Silmarillion seems more cool to me, than Galadriel the Queen from LotR. And yeah, TRADITIONAL ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE is TRADITIONAL and ROYAL, lol.

  • Noooooo, she's a goa'uld!!!

  • I cant look at Cate Blanchett without thinking about her being fucked by a 15 year old faggot in Notes On A Scandal.

  • When i first saw this , This scared the sh!t outta me.

  • I wonder just how many people have watched this video thanks to 00vitality00's video.

  • All should love me and despair!

    that's my favorite part

  • I may be brony, but Tolkien and Galadriel will always come first bitches!

Ponification chart: Galadriel = Celestia / Luna; ergo, the only pony capable of wielding the true power of the ring. Besides, ponies only have hooves; but then again it's possible to wield the ring without wearing it, as Frodo demonstrated.

(ok, that was the nerdiest thing I've ever written)

Also, if this crossover is popular, which pony = Sauron?

  • @ijwi Discord = Sauron?

  • @AcolyteOfAzura Discord is far too silly to be Sauron. Far too silly to be in LOTR at all, in fact. He might fit in The Hobbit somewhere, but not as Sauron.

  • @thatpenguingirl But, if it were to be a crossover, I don't think very many of the characters in MLP are serious enough. Everyone would have to take it down a notch. About 60% of crossovers don't exactly fit the original tone of the story. If I were writing a MLP-LoTR fanfic, I would make it a little humorous. And, if that were the case, MY Sauron would be Discord.

  • @ijwi You're a typical Brony from where I stand. A nerd of another subject first, Mlp:FiM fan second which is a good thing especially with all the antis accusing Bronies and Pegasisters of obsessing over FiM. Though I wish I hadn't come back to this vid and read this comment because in novel I'm writing inspired by FiM I've written in elements similar to Harry Potter, now I'm compelled to utilize some influences from LoTR. God help me. :(

  • @ijwi Maybe in the pony universe, the One Ring is more of a One Bracelet? Or like, a saddle, or... yeah. Reaching here.

  • Omg, both top comments are here because of Mlp:Fim lol

  • So Frodo, how do you feel about giving her the ring NOW?

  • Luna is the best

  • Galadriel ain't got shit on Princess Luna and Fluttershy.

  • 2:00 for Royal Canterlot Voice.

  • I am very pleased by these top comments.

  • She needs to talk to fluttershy about that voice....

  • did you guys know cate blanchett is 2 years younger than miranda otto? what the heezy?

  • @hitokirimasamun Good. I was afraid she was getting old and would hit the proverbial brick wall before the next movie is made. ;-/

  • I got 99 problems, but a *awkward silence* ain't one!

  • Princess Luna had more passion in her ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE!!

  • Sooner or later every YT video will be full of brony comments.

  • @MikeCloud666 Because we are nerds....

  • Nice to know I wasn't the only person getting a Galadriel vibe off Luna last week.

  • "He will try to take the ring .... you know of whom I speak"

    "..... Pippin?"

  • Wow, holy shit. The whole comments section is flooding with bronies. xD

    Brohoof. guys <3

  • @gamemaker60 No.

  • @Kunami WHY WONT YOU RETURN MY LOVE

  • @gamemaker60 We nerds remember? We were into LoTR, Comic-books, anime/manga, Star-Trek, Star Wars, Transformers, before Lauren Faust made MLP awesome. So of course crossover ideas will be mentioned... *Thinks back to how my story "Mystic Riders" carries elements similar to Darksiders, Harry Potter, and FiM* Engh, now if you'll me, I have novels to write... And Btw... *brohoof*

  • Even the smallest person can change the course of the world!

  • In place of a dark mare you will have a PRINCESS. NOT A CREATURE OF DARKNESS, BUT INSTEAD A PONY WHO DESIRES YOUR LOVE AND ADMIRATION!

  • @TheSeriouslyOatmeal I watched that whole episode, waiting for Twilight to shout "YOU. SHALL NOT. PASS!!!"

  • MODS ARE ASLEEP, POST PONIES.

  • RUN! SHE'S GOING TO GOBBLE YOU UP!!!

  • This is now ponies.

  • I love how more than half the comments are about MLP. XD Fuuuuuck, brohooves all around.

  • THE FUN HAS DOUBLED!!!!!!!

  • That's a nice TRADITIONAL ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE.

  • @TheSeriouslyOatmeal Omg, that's why I went looking for this clip!

  • @TheSeriouslyOatmeal YOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!! Thou hast stolen the words i wanted to hath speaken.

  • Thumbs up if Luna brought you here.

  • @Stoneth Yes, she did....>_>

  • yep, Luna brought me here too

  • Sounds like Galadriel is a Lunafag too

  • Luna did it better.

  • @jbecker8082 Not exactly, Sauron was first a servant to the Valar, created before the elves. Galadriel is still just an elf, therefore lesser than Sauron. Gandalf (known then as Mithrandir), on the other hand, was also a Maiar, servant to the Valar, so he is equal to Sauron. None is greater than Sauron that existed in the third age.

  • Galadriel creeps the sh*t out of me.

  • @LuxuryBarrage yeah, me too...

whenever I watch that chills run down my spine

  • I wonder what the scenery tasted like.

  • @TwinUzis Dwarves.

  • PMS much?

  • Reminds me of Akivasha.

    D~

  • I LOVE HER! GALADRIEL RULES!!

  • I am confused.... why did she go crazy for? I mean was it the ring that did it to her?? please let me know thanks

  • @drawfd The desire of power. Even elves face it. She is extremely old and has seen the rise and fall of powers, but has remained as a quiet guiding light. That temptation was there for her to take the ring and become a world ruler, and right the world as she saw fit. The test for her was not to give in to that desire.

  • @iverie oooh ok, thats so crazy how strong the temptation is. thanks for clearing it up for me! what an epic movie I love it soooo much watching it recently. temptation is so powerfull

  • @drawfd Lol no problem.

  • Ponies sent me.

  • When she does that stroke thing, who's face does that remind me of?

  • Bipolar bitch

  • Scariest moment in Lord of the Rings. Period.

  • I love the whole Queen of the Dawn idea. more powerful and beautiful than the lord of the deep dark.

  • Yep, the White Witch tried to invade Middle Earth, lol.

  • 1:58 for the best of Tolkien's female speeches. Best Speech is found w/ Smaug.

  • @ILfoxtrot Smaug is female?

  • Galadriel has always scared the **** outta me ever since I first watched this scene 0.0

  • it's so sad she diminishes, but I know she's happy cause after all the thousands of years, finally she's going home <3

  • She spazzed out because she knew the ring would eventually corrupt anyone who had it (& probably still find its

  • I think Galadriel's temptation is overdone, but I suppose they had to dramatize it.

  • Is it wrong if this turns me on?

  • What does it say about me that I would have been like, "Okay, sounds good, here's the ring!" and found this really hot? Lmao.

Oh, lord I have issues. o_o

  • "I will diminish and go into the West!"

  • With a little make up a good outfit she would have been a great Maleficient

  • i also think she is beautiful in radioactive mode

  • 1:36 to begin Galadriel's best scene.

  • @Valor773 the elves, wizards who have lived for thousands of years are more powerful and wise. The One Ring would have a very strong hold over them worse if they touched it. This is why Elrond could not struggle with Isildur, who was afraid it would just corrupt him. Men though are very easly corrupted. Hobbits are, but not very badly.

  • "I will diminish, go into the West, and remain Galadriel."

    "...You will what, sorry?"

"I will dim... nevermind, it's in the book"

    Jennifer Sauder's version

  • @leofracassi she says i wil diminish.. i don´t understand it´s in the book.

  • Someone explain this test and why she spazzed the hell out if anyone would be so kind.

  • i remember the first time i saw this she scared me the shit out of me haha lol this is a wicked scene i love it...Galadriel would be a fricking evil queen lol

  • anybody else come here after watching PONIES The anthology?

  • @rupertroberto How could you not?

  • i would follow her...the lad y of the ring....

  • Good scene ruined by radioactive Galadriel. So stupid.

  • @triAceFanboy ahah maybe she's been in fukushima to try to destroy the ring in the melting core

  • @triAceFanboy i think its great because its demontrating the power she has!!!

  • If she had taken it, she would have been more powerfull then Sauron!!!

  • I see there is a discussion why Elrond didn't stop Isildur from taking the ring. In the book he wasn't actually there when Isildur took the ring, he was by Gil-galad's side who was fatally wounded. By the way I think elves believe in faith and destiny and all that so Elrond probably didn't even feel that was his responsibility to take the ring by force!

  • @Shumskyfly ok thanks. I started the discussion because I didn't remember if elrond was at isildur's side in that moment in the book. I just didn't remember and in the movie it seems so stupid :)

  • "All shall love me and Despair" Genius!

  • Since of the first age Galadriel want to be powerfull. So, she finally proved to the Valars: If she wants she would be powerful. And finally she is ready to back to west, in the Valar house with her father Finarfin, King of The Noldor.

  • 2:34

what kind of BIG LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT was that?

  • "I, too, can command the wind, sir! I have a hurricane in me that will strip Spain bare if you dare to try me!!!"

  • EPIC!

  • The only thing better than this: "Bring back what you have stolen from me. Bring back the map."

  • Wow the scene where he looks in the mirror is sure creepy..

Man Orcs have got to be the coolest villains ever... when I first saw them in this movie I was amazed and somewhat horrified.

  • Shit.. rage.

  • by the way, I still think that is not her dark side but her real look. and the armour she is wearing must be one of the more powerful armours in the whole tolkien's mythology

  • @linguadigatt0

no its what the ring would make her if she whore it

  • @thegreeenbeast I don't know... baybe you're right, but I don't think the real look af such an ancient and powerful elf is just a thin pale blonde girl.....

  • @linguadigatt0

cant blame you for thinking that... could be both... tolkien doesnt make any plot holes but he does leave some things to our imagination.

the wings of the balrog for example... its still not clear wether they have wings or if its just their control of shadows

  • @thegreeenbeast you're right. if tolkien had explained everything, we would be contemplating his art and stop. but is so beautiful to keep on imaginating the things he didn't explain.

there is only one thing I really don't understand. I read the lotr the last time about an year ago, so I don't rememberit perfectly.... when Isildur defeated Sauron and took the ring, and than refused to destroy it... WHY ELROND ALLOWED HIM TO DO SO? I would have thrown in the flames of Mount Doom Isildur as well

  • @linguadigatt0

well sir i think you just found one of the VERY few plot holes ;)

  • @thegreeenbeast maybe Elrond, in his wisdom, knew that destroying the ring we would never enjoy a great book :)

thank you, isildur and elrond, for not destroying the ring! ahahah maybe frodo doesn't agree with me

  • @linguadigatt0 I think the real reason is that the elves and humans had formed an alliance that day. If Elrond would've killed isildur the humans would jave attacked the elves for their betrayal and the war would've continued.

  • @linguadigatt0 I think that this is puzzling to you only because of THAT scene from the movie, and not because of anything in The Book.

Jackson was always very concerned to make clear to his audience the danger and evil of The Ring, so much so that he seems to repeatedly hit us over the head with it! That in turn makes Elrond allowing Isildur to walk away with the Ring seem strange to you.

The idea that anything that was done with the Ring would turn to evil was perceived only by The Wise.

  • @linguadigatt0; Elrond probably fears being seduced by the Ring just as Gandalf and Galadriel. Why don't you blame Gandalf and Galadriel for the same, not having destroyed the ring sooner?

  • @PadraikKasier well, I don't blame anyone. it just seems strange to me that thusands of elves and men fight and die for a purpose, and when that purpose is near they just let it go because Isildur on a whim decides to keep the one ring......... I would have organised a dimonstration

I know the ring is powerful and has the power to turn one's mind to his will, but those who were at isildur's side had the responsability to destroy it if isildur were already dominated by the ring

  • @linguadigatt0; It's an interesting point. Do you speak of Isildur's personal guard? I imagine they have loyalty to him and do not comprehend the Ring's power. If you speak of the average soldier in those armies, they probably comprehend the nature of the Ring even less. For all they knew, they were trying to defeat Sauron and as far as they could tell, Isildur killed him. They would have treated him as a hero. I doubt anyone would have demonstrated against him, much less take the Ring from him.

  • @PadraikKasier I was speaking of everybody knew that the ring was the key to defeat sauron....... but it's a stupid speech. tolkien needed to have the one ring still alive and kicking to write the lord of the rings, so the way he made it possible is not too important

  • ok in the book this is a great scene but here it's something like

"you have to do this and that and you can die but if you fail it will be a pain in the ass"

"o no, please, do it yourself, here is the ring, you're welcome"

"I WIL BLABLABLABLABLABLABLABLABLABLABKLABLAB. oh I passed the test. no help from me frodo, sorry"

"what?? I can't do this alone!"

"not my problem baby, I'm going west. bye!"

  • @linguadigatt0 lol I do think that her little speech is better in the movie though even though half of it is the exact same

  • @linguadigatt0 LMAO!!!! well said hahaha

  • @linguadigatt0 Every scene in every story ever can be generalised thusly. You're not witty, you just have 20 retards with nothing else to thumbs up.

  • @linguadigatt0 well anything will sound rubbish if you just simplify it like that.actually, I love this scene. don't screw with it.

  • @linguadigatt0 You're own pathetic life could be generalised in even less words than that.

  • reflection...

  • i can watch these scene whole day! she is amazing,i love her calm, voice, and look, and her dark side is interest......LOTR RULES!!!! :)

  • how was that a test?

  • @Li5468

Because she had the ability to take the ring right then, but did not. She withstood the temptation.

  • I think it's more about showing the desires that the ring brings out in people. Even though it wouldn't fulfill those desires for only Sauron can use it.

  • @zelda2ownage156

not truth its stated in the books (not just lord of the rings)

that all powerfull elves, maia (gandalf, saruman, sauron, morgoth they are all the same race)

and edu (kinda demi gods) can use it.

if maya use it they become as powerfull ass an edu (sauron for example) and if an edu would ever use it they would become as powerfull as a true god

  • @thegreeenbeast Hm don't remember that. Research time!!!

  • @zelda2ownage156

    i made a mistake

an maia would become as powerfull as a valor (the actual demi gods) and a valor would become as strong as eru, the one and only real god in middleearth

  • @thegreeenbeast Confirmed. Thank you for this information you little genius you.

  • shes seeing what would happen if she became evil.
