  • Without a foot cluth you will never be totally engaged to your car. Not all BMW's are drivers cars. People with autos/semi-autos are Steerers not drivers.

  • No matter how quick you are at changing gears in manual, you still lose speed.

Although more fun(for a while) than other transmissions, it is outdated.

  • Anything without a clutch pedal is an automatic...

  • SMG or DCT = AUTOMATIC!!

  • @spoozy84 SMG is boss I don't know what you're talking about lol

  • i am curious...with the paddle shift if one was to reach the rev limiter and hold it there would the car automatically shift up to protect the engine or are there no safety features like that. if you down shifted at too high a speed or revs would it allow this? i only ask cause my car from 7-8 years ago had a 'tepronic' mode which allowed driver shifting but would always shift up when the revs got too high or prevent down shifting unless the speed was ok....very annoying (not DCT i know)

  • a dual clutch gearbox basically get's the next gear spinning so the flappy paddle selection can engage the next gear immediately, it's used in racecars... it is not an automatic. a standard manual has a pedal that is fun as hell to play with, but that's part of what slows down a shift, regardless of driver, so the difference is noticed on the track, and then people buy it for their sports cars. long story short, this is a fast car, shut up :P

  • whatever its called, manual is still more fun to drive ;)

  • yawn

  • Very civilized takeoff. I absolutely love the new m3 sedans.

  • smg 4 ever

  • haha that's my car :p

  • Tinted windowssss niceeeeeeeee

  • thats my friend Blake lol his youtube accounts blakepilot

  • boo automatic

  • They dont make an automatic M3 its called a SMG transmission

  • You can call it an automatic...

And the new transmission is not the SMG anymore but the M-DCT, with double clutch.

  • @philip0007 juss to make sure, so M3's have manual transmission and the semi-automatic?

  • @philip0007 DCT stands for dual clutch transmission...................

  • For the e92 they dont make an SMG it`s a double clutch...

  • @fairmont351w its actually called DCT or dual clutch transmission. And there is an automatic mode actually with DCT so hes correct

  • @fairmont351w

the thing doesnt have a clutch pedal so you cant call it a manual either.

  • @fairmont351w dkg not smg.. smg was for e46 m3..

  • @fairmont351w They don't make an SMG transmission anymore it's called DSG. Ohhh snap.

  • @fairmont351w actually DCT since thats an e92 =)

  • @fairmont351w if it doesn't have a clutch pedal its an automatic.... so little girls can drive to

  • @oldirtybastard213 Don't be foolish. The double clutch M-DCT transmission is fantastic .. this is coming from someone who drives a manual car; don't hate because you don't know.

  • @oldirtybastard213 hahaha it's like a seven year old trying to comment, saying wrong stuff then making an insult at girls and a typo, hats off to your magnificent trolling. A clutch pedal (like in my daily driver) is just a gd pedal, like you typed. A clutch is what feeds power from the engine down the drive line.... a dual clutch.... ugh it's not worth typing this, for people who are curious go look it up :)

  • @oldirtybastard213 then formula 1 and WRC drive automatic? k

  • @fairmont351w uhhh no. its called the M-DCT

  • @fairmont351w It's actually a DCT transmission.

    Lawyered.

  • @fairmont351w

and what is smg a automatic.....

  • there's nothing to boo about the DCT, especially with dallas traffic. that transmission is faster than michael schumacher.

  • nice
