Though it has it's fair share of problems I simply can't say that any movie that made me tear out of both eyes is bad. I'm not of fan of the shaky cam technique. The characters were not terribly complex and intriguing. The plot was pretty straight forward and repetitive. However, I thought it was well worth two hours of my sorry ass life, eight dollars of my not-so-hard-earned money and the energy it takes to sit in a seat a pay attention.

I fuckn loved that movie to hell. To me it would've been the perfect sequal to like District 9 if it was the Prawns. And for the most part it was not even a movie about aliens. It was a tribute for Marines. And it was done beautifully no doubt.

I just want to say that I was quite pleased that they got it right. Every movie that has Marines in it has managed to screw it up, but this one got it right on the head. 2/5 is a real unit and they even got the whole "retreat hell" which is on the unit insignia right. The way they carried themselves is really how a Marine infantry unit works:locate,close with, engage and destroy the enemy. OOH RAH folks, you made this Marine proud with the job you all did.

I kind of like how its not set in new york, because I was thinking if aliens did invade they might not nesaserily invade the most iconic places like NY or Washington, I just think it being set in a slightly smaller place like LA adds to the plauseability.

sick movie, i thought some of the dialouge was kinda cheesy at points, like cliche war dialouge, but overall awseome action, super intense and adrenaline pumping and good story in showing the heart of our soldiers and how they are willing to fight any threat to protect us, i think that was the main message 8/10

I love this movie. I saw it a couple of days ago. The acting is awesome, the camera effects and angles are amazing, and it had a strong plot. Something I didn't understand though (I'll prolly, and will, have to watch it again to see if maybe I can figure it out) was during the one part of the movie where the marines were ambushed in that backyard: Why'd the aliens take some of the guys they shot? Anybody know? I'm just curious, I can't make sense of it. (thank you)

This movie was great i just saw it. But if you want to watch this movie only because of the curiosity you have on the aliens that'll be in this movie, DONT! BAL focuses more on how humans(marines) would react and basically how they can survive with each other even in a situation like this. To sum it up i would say this is like a modernized version of the movie Avatar except the aliens are actually badass and invade where the humans have to defend

This movie had terrible critical reception, which I don't understand...the movie isn't even about aliens (which I thought they still did a fine job with) , it's about the marines and human response in general to such a threat. And they did it outstandingly well.

@thurlowkieran Haha neither of them really. You find that in the screenplay, the way the overall story goes. It's not about how the actors say there lines, or what's said. Sure, it won't win any huge awards, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a good watch and a good story.
