  • Como puede cantar asi el hijo de su madre! jaja mata la patita de Plant..

  • JIMMY PAGE

your guitar playing still makes me

    RANDY BABYYYY

  • Hank Williams Snr did write and record in the late 40's. Teen idol Ricky Nelson also covered it but this is the version they were covering - Sonny Burgess - My Buckets Got a Hole in it. Jimmy nailed the acoustic lead spot on. Both Page and Plant dig early blues, country and rockabilly as well as so many other styles of music. So much stuff the pair did way before LZ too. Why can't these guys pay homage to some of their biggest influences? Good on them!

  • @djlittlecarl

And Bert Jansch and Davey Graham for Jimmy. Love his music, but true, he never would pay homage to anyone. Maybe cos' he is so fast in picking up any music he hears and making it his own that he forgets where it came from?

  • This is great music performed by great musicians

  • yeah :)

  • 0:57 oh for fuck's sake, get a fashion sense!!!

  • Damn, look at Ahmet there. Parkinsons seems to really be ravaging him, maybe they should've given him a tambourine. Shake that shit!

  • Robert Plant's got some serious calves on him for an old guy!

  • this song is a trip

  • this song sucks, they got page doing monkey work.

  • neumann U87, what a mic!

  • when was this recording made?

  • No John Paul Jones is not singing 'cos he's not there. Ahmet Ertegun is sitting at the desk. That might interest you. It's to his Memory that Led Zep played the O2 gig. Sadly I did not get a ticket. Thank God some kind soul stitched together the various home vids.

  • Gotta love seeing Percy's big ole feet tappin' away in those running shoes! He and Pagey are simply precious :)

  • Ahmet Ertgen was responsible for bringing sooo many stars to light.

  • An amazing version.

  • I love how even the sound technicians are bobbing their heads!

  • Did anyone even notice Ahmet Ertegun or know who he is? To me he's the main person in this video.

  • my butt its got a hole in it, too ,robert!!

  • im now convinced Zeppelin can take any song and make it grove.

  • I wouldn't care that about Bonham if they toured again one last time. Bands change Floyd, The Who but the "Song Remains the Same"...sorry couldn't help it. But seriously it would still be a brilliant night of music that I would remember for ever. In a few years these guys will all be dead. Then what? No one can ever play the "sacred music" live again?

  • what a voice.

  • common everybody knows it wont be led zeppelin again without bonham, but hey common, his son plays brilliant also, it would sound differt, well they can change the name to the new led zeppelin or something, common lets have fun once again like so many years ago

  • Comment removed

  • yes thats it. thats what i was talking to you about, come on join the fun again the country side is waiting for you to fill the space with sounds from a place called eternity, common you can do the last tour I know you can, just do it and the world will somehow pay you back all youve done for us.

  • i fuckin love jimmy page

  • Covering a old Hank Williams classic, could have used Hank Jr. to help out.

  • you ought to listen to the CD Good rocking Tonight (the legacy of sun records) where this cut is from

  • I like seeing Jimmy and Robert casual like this. It's totally cool seeing Robert in running shoes especially, and Jimmy in a floral shirt. :)

  • stairway to heaven never stood a chance:(

  • This is awesome!! I knew that Led Zeppelin was inspired by Hank Sr. but I had no idea that they cut this song. BRavo Brothers. Thanks for posting...

  • wtf was that! this is led zeppelin! come on now! my buckets got a hole in it!?!? rlly!?

  • @herbpayton This is a HAnk Williams Sr. song that Led Zeppelin respected so much. He was their inspirations into their music

  • Come on now, you all act like you just had your first beer. You don't see Ray Price or Merle Hagard massacring Dyer maker or Wanna whole lotta love.

  • This is the first song I ever knew in my mind. I had to be an infant, most likely couldn't speak, or understand the words. Had to be 1959. Not kiddin'

  • /watch?v=xUyvf3U70Jc

  • Ahmet is digging it!!

  • This is so cool... Thanks for posting.

  • EaglesGone....how 'bout making this video playable on iPhone? Other than that, thanks for the video. Never heard it before. Jimmy & Plant,,.. diversity @ level best!!

  • Great track with fab backing vocals/harmonies...

  • If yer toes ain`t tappin while listenin to this...Well theres no help for ya...

Cuz my buckets got a hole in it...... Yeah my buckets got hole in it.....

Won`t hold no Beer!!! Come sing along it`s good fer ya!!

  • God , I love Jimmy Page !! He just exudes "coolness" and style to no end !!! Same with Plant -- I love seeing them here at just a standard recording session - just being "regular" guys (Plant in the sneakers, lol!) Ive always thought Page had great taste in fasion (Hawaian shirt)

  • Great voices. But i miss the Rhythm here.

  • Written by the greatest country singer ever...Hank Williams Sr. RIP Hank.

  • god bless jimmy and robert, really. their work is undeniable. however, they completely failed to capture the spirit of this hank williams song.

  • Wow, this blows. Hank should come out of the grave and kick Plant in the nuts.

  • Sun Records? So what the hell is Ahmet Ertegun is doing there?

  • Catchy tune :-)

  • No, JPJ wasn't singin

  • if you dig this music and feel most current artists are lazy as shit and you also dig classic rock r&b and soul check my page for crazy jams !!!!

  • Love this! My favorite group. :)

  • Haha, I like how they have the Parkinson's sufferer keeping time in the booth.

    Shakin' all over, huh Ehmet!

    PS. Nice shoes at 0:57

  • I saw Robert with Allison Kruss 2 years ago and anybody who says he ain't got it anymore is full it. I think he reserves it more now but if he wants to hit the high notes he's got it on tap!

  • Well put. I agree.

  • thist must of been recorderd quite some bit ago jimmy page had black hair now he's grey

  • Been a few years at least. The older gentleman at the end wearing glasses is Ahmet Ertegun. He was the co-founder of Atlantic records whom the surviving Zep members (and others) paid tribute to at the O2 show in 2007.

  • I want Page's shirt!

  • look at plants shoes...

  • I understand Plant like tennis....

  • love anything they play! they could even make rap music sound good...

  • Very cool video. 5****

  • I like how the Parkinson's sufferer is keeping time in the control room.

    A-shakin' all over!!!!!

  • Wow, I guess this could be the closest thing to a continuation of the Honeydrippers.

  • oh my god, their clothes are so embarassing. WHY?! why did you start dressing like old retired men, your not fucking retired!

  • why, metrostationrocks? Because they can, that's why.

  • This song is true to the equation of rock and roll:

    Hank Williams+Led Zeppelin*1/2=Awesome

  • He's very luckly to have a bucket with a hole in it, It's better than having a hole with a bucket in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • come on plant drop alsion kraus and team up with page again

  • Plant doesn't need Pagey to be fulfilled, he's always had an eclectic approach to making music. Pagey just wants to recapture the adulation and the chicks now that his wife has dumped him.

  • Have you even LISTENED to Raising Sand? The entire point of Zeppelin and Plant's music is to be DIVERSE. So, listen to what you're saying. "No! Just do the Zeppelin thing!", you idiot.

  • dude, i totally agree with you. he needs to drop alison kraus i mean he's been doing shit with her FOREVER now. fuck man, come on it's time to get back with Zeppelin, your roots!

  • Im very happy they're doing their own thing. As for Led Zeppelin, it wouldn't be the same without Bonzo. Jimmy and Robert have said they are not one to replace a member like all of the other bands did in the that era when a member passed away. Jimmy, Robert, Jones and Bonzo together create MAGIC. Without one of them Led Zeppelin wouldn't be LED ZEPPELIN! Get what I'm saying?

  • @akjd90 led zeppelin fans can't accept change?? XD

pink floyd changed so many times. they're still pink floyd.

i was made to love magic.

i don't get what you're saying at all.

  • @akjd90 And right there, you are RIGHT.

  • @akjd90 they're expired though, its time for something influenced by greatness and not blinded by deception nowdays to rise up and keep what bands like led zeppelin and the beatles put on hold.

  • @akjd90 Oh yeah man!!!!

  • @akjd90

I agree but the closest thing you can come to in regards to replacing Bonzo is his kid. Probably knows his father's music and style better than anyone.

  • hey ledzep, expand your mind

  • Haha man im joking, this song is just funny to me and the mighty Page and Plant are playing it so casually.

  • Er nice shoes, Robert Plant .... LOL

    what happened to your fashions???

  • This is just good old fashion Rock n Roll

    Sounds Great .................Page and Plant

    LEGENDS!!

i think i would buy this if i could

  • john paul jones and bonham as well

    Zeppelin

  • Was that John paul jones singing?

  • hi, i dont know =S sorry cant help you, but I hope somebody knows it, and tell us

  • Its not Jonesy. Like he said when Zep got inducted into the RnR hall of fame: "Im glad my friends finally remembered my phone number." This was rec. before Page and Plant remembered his number.LOL!

  • @EaglesGone '...won't hold no beer..."

  • @EaglesGone No

  • hm well.. could be him :D

    but I don't know..

  • @mortyj1979 john paul jones isn't in this video, the lead singer is robert plant, don't know who the backing are. hope that helps!

  • @mortyj1979 no it wasn't. he just looks like him :)

  • @mortyj1979 that's robert plant dude...

  • @mortyj1979 No, don't think it's JPJ - he's about the same age as Jimmy and Robert, and all three backup singers look about 15-20 years younger than either of them. Not a definitive answer to your question, but I hope it helps. Peace, AHA

  • @mortyj1979 JPJ is not in this video.

  • Comment removed

  • @mortyj1979 not Jonsey

  • @mortyj1979 nope, don't think so ...

  • @mortyj1979 yup it was

  • @mortyj1979 : no, just a guy who looks like him.........Jonesy hasn't had long hair in over 18 yrs from what I can tell with guitar magazine & music mags articles of him.....I have this compilation album, and JPJ isn't listed anywhere on it for any of the sessions.......would have been cool though

  • @mortyj1979 No, there was no JPJ present at the recording

  • @mortyj1979 NO JPJ IN THAT VIDEO.

  • @mortyj1979 When? in the backup? No he wasnt one of the three if thats what you mean.

  • @mortyj1979 i didnt see him

  • @mortyj1979

John Paul Jones is not there. It's Robert Plant & Jimmy Page with 3 back-up singers unknow to me. Also Ahmet Ertegun is there.

  • @mortyj1979 ...no

  • @mortyj1979 no that was not JPJ singing. dont know who it was, but it wasn't him.

  • @mortyj1979 i sware that john paul jones

  • @mortyj1979

No, Jonesy was not involved with this project...

  • @mortyj1979 Nope

  • Hank WilliamsJr...and Hank Garland ...

  • RIP, Mr. Ertegün.

  • When was this?

  • october 2001, hace a nice day

  • Thanks. :D

  • @EaglesGone 90's

  • This is really cool stuff. Why wouldn't a musician want to record in the same studio that gave birth to most of their early influences, even with newer gear? We should be so lucky. They're obviously having fun., which is what R 'n R is really all about

You can hear that Sun sound on the vocal effect so clearly. Beautiful. Love those Neumann mics as well. My favs to record with.

And that "old guy" is Atlantic record company founder the late Ahmet Ertegün, who signed Led Zeppelin.

  • I was cracking up at the old guy laughing at the end.

  • P.S. what's the fuckin' matter with buckets? leave this great old song alone.

  • i was ther

  • with special guest lance bass on soundboard!!!

  • i think one of those backup singers in Balky from Perfect Strangers

  • page looks like an old chinese guy right here

  • you got a problem with that, don't be disrespecting the god of rock

  • calm yourself child. He may be THE god of rock, but it doesn't change the fact that his eyes look chinky. anyways, i was just making an observation. my eyes are pretty chinky also. haha

  • he's actually 1/8 chinese. and yeah. he does. he is the sensei. sensei Page, God of Guitar.

  • no way man... haha

  • It would be so great to sit around and jam with some of the best and have a great time

  • I love the shoes Plant is wearing Lmao!

  • Jeez does anyone else wish Ahmet or Peter Grant were still around? we would be getting a Led Zeppelin Tour in 2009 instead of ANOTHER Plant/Krause Album/Tour....

  • Both Ahmet and Peter love and respect Robert Plant and wouldn't have forced him into anything. You know they both helped Robert to launch his solo career?

  • RIP Ahmet!!! Thank you for your work in the music world!

  • Hahaha, makes me laugh every fucking time I see it. Wonderful! :)

  • My older brother C.J. was a Big....Zephead! We played music together for a long time. I knew a Lot, of Country, and he knew a Lot, of Rock. We combined the two and just played Rockin` Country. This, is just a little example of what we did. Yeah...we too...Rocked, BUCKET! LOL.

  • I like this video It's amazing!

  • Jimmy cringes a bit,,,lol,,,perfectionist that he is ,he realizes it`s not perfect, but it`ll do ,,,lol

  • THIS IS CLASSIC

  • man, Jimmy is still the crazy motherfucker he used ta be lol

  • Hawaiin Page lol

  • is this song featured in any record or just in this tongue in cheeck vedio

    a great vedio though

    thanks

  • Whose that old guy in the video? Hank Williams?

  • Ahmet Ertegun

  • Comment removed

  • Nice, Zeppelin does Hank and pretty good too. One of my favorite bands records one of my favorite song writers.

  • GREAT! love this song PAGE & PLANT can play anything and make it fantastic!

for the metal heads out there listen to led zep III and physical graffiti.....

  • actually i m a metal head and i recommed presence

    totaly electirc

but i love all of their albums of course

  • grosos!!

  • ahmet ertegun, what a badass.

  • Great, as you know Jimmy and Robert are great !

I suggest you to buy the whole dvd, the tribute to the Sun records is a very good dvd

    Cheers

    Johnny

  • Different, but I like it ... probably because I love Jimmy and Robert; otherwise, well -- I'd never have watched or listened with any real interest.

  • I was thinkin the same but then halfway through I started hearing jimmy's guitar as being in the vein of Black Country Woman or even Born Y Aur, all kinds of folksy bluesy stuff that is part of their core, then I realized this is like essential Zep background material.

  • when is this from?

  • Maybe they were thinking of Elvis, as Sun Records (Memphis, TN) is where it all started...

Very cool upload-never saw it before-thanks for sharing this with us-love Zep!

  • Very cool and interesting. However, I prefer the origional by Hank Williams Sr.

Is it me, or is Plants voice getting smoother with age?

  • so plant!! yey plant and page!!

  • Hate country.....Love Plant

  • Regarding "Hate country.....Love Plant"

This is early rock/rockabilly. Not that labels mean shit, but this isn't country, strictly speaking.

  • This is a Hank Williams song. It's country.

  • Hank Williams Sr. wrote this song

  • such a great and awesome voice....plant 4 ever!!!!

  • What is this-an "Elvis studio remake?" Hmm..

    interesting...

  • WOW, I never heard of this. What year is this from? Looks recent, cuz Plant looks rough. He isnt aging well. But, I am still the worlds biggest Zeppelin fan, forever. I LOVE YOU JAMES PATRICK PAGE !!!!

  • Aghh ROBERTS SINGING COUNTRY AGGH THIS SCARES ME

  • makes me smile really big. Robert is too talented to stay in one zone, yeah?

  • you ignore rock n'roll was born after country music?

  • Then what about the fact that he won 2 grammys awards in that genre, blanket over your head?

  • Hank did'nt just record it He wrote it

  • Hank Williams Senior (1940's -1950's) recorded that. He had one of the greatest slide guitarists of all time. Good rendition but could be gritty and raunchier. I'll take it.

  • naah dont like

  • yay love it already

  • I dunno, usually I'd hate something like this but it's stuck in my head. Cute video.
