Both teams played fantastic football. Don't forget national teams don't have the time to gel like club teams do. The way the players on both sides, during this match, delivered such crisp passes to eachother, and executed so many multiple-player plays should be part of a tactical handbook. For example, in the play that led to the corner kick that ultimately resulted in Grosso's goal, the split-second one-two between Iaquinta and Pirlo was pure team work.

me and my mother watched this from her hospital bed, i was 15 at the time, and when this goal went in we were so happy, t he nurses had to come and tell her to relax but what can you do when your country wins this way. she died a few hours later but she died happy because fabio grosso, in her mind, had won us the world cup.

A great question for a debate. Which is the more glorious goal? Grosso's or Del Piero's? Which one would you rather score? I would say Del Piero cuz his goal signalled the end...no comeback possible just pure ecstasy and relief.
