Which god? I find creationists and ID proponents to be hilarious when talking about the complexity of life. It always goes something like, "The Rafflesia arnoldii is an amazing flower that attract flies to pollinate it by producing the smell of rotting flesh, btw God is amazing." They never have a model of how complexity arises from a designer. On the other hand evolution can be modeled by computers and mathematically, and provides insight into systems that praising deities simply doesn't.
Large scale constructs of "Spider Silk", which is not that difficult to synthesise nowadays, are about as strong as playdoh. It is a SHORT CHAIN polymer made of amino acids.
It's only that strong compared to its size. What they are trying to design is something for humans to use, and there is NOTHING that strong in nature. I'm sure they could make something comparable to real spiders thread, but it would be useless to anything except a spider.

Give me carbon fiber and kevlar, anyday.

Spider silk is adjusted to be tough at its dimensions, steel is adjusted to be tough at higher dimensions.
Perhaps spiders should try producing something like carbon fiber. Or hell, kevlar. I will award the spider which can squeeze that one out.
Until then, why don't you guys learn something more useful than the incoherent ramblings of your minister?

lol
OK
btw, kevlar is nothing, near the web of spiders
HighFlyingDutchman 4 years ago
well if they give me silk or kevlar, I will wear the kevlar.
I don't want something that easily extends three times its size.

You do know that they use both kevlar and spider silk in the production of body armour?

Dude, his name is teenspirirt!
He just wants to rebel and be a dick. He doesn't even know why.

Why would anyone want to make spider thread? What use is it to anything but a spider?
PaulBarte 4 years ago
fear paul
a spiders web is 10 times stronger and very much lighter than steel
one of the expected uses is to create an elivator [anchored on a large rock in space ]
that will allow space 'lift offs' in rockets un needed ,it is based on a sci fi story
science says it is feasable [if they can make a material strong enough] thus is but one uses man hopes to use it for

kevlar: poor imitation of spider thread
@1undergod, we cannot even "make" one cell! scientists are trying it now, search google
they will not succeed.
psf1busta 4 years ago
you are right psf1 [re the cell]even science that undertakes cloning needs to use a god made cell membrane
[as you say man cant even make a copy of the skin of a cell]
interestingly science has found the cell membrane somehow instructs the cells survival actions [it is logic]
before science thought it was dna instructions[via rna] but removal of bits or the whole dosnt stop cell survival or act
the mem='brain' is a bigger gift from god than man could have forseen

nice info! that's new to me. thanks yazakAllahu khair

scian trysts are trying to copy the spider spinnerettes ,yet only can studdy that god created
ask them to make one spider like as god did [from dust]
say ,here god made the dust , now you [science]make it 'evolve',
make even one like it
it is a sad joke
this faulse god called science

The spiders are inspired by God? LOL!
oscillator 4 years ago
no,it is wrong, they are inspired by brainless mutations.
it satisfied u more right?
go on satisfying youself the ;)
