I like Aker but his carry on at Brisbane wasn't good, afterall it is a team game and if you're told to shut up for the sake of the whole footy club then that is what you do. He comes across as a bit of a spoilt child, just saying shit for attention no matter how it affects his team mates, poor form
Akermanis was sacked by the Bulldogs because of his upcoming biography at the time and what he MIGHT have said about the players. Johnno said something like "do you want to play with a bloke who might be going to pot you?" It's really unfair how he was sacked for what he MIGHT have been going to say.
If Aker wasn't so outspoken he would still be playing now. Absolute star, but will be forever remembered as an incredibly intelligent and skilled player who just couldn't shut up.
@nathanstorm7 Intelligent? Was it intelligent to reveal a teammate had suspect ribs on the eve of a grand final? He'll be remembered by many as having no loyalty to his teammates whatsoever. Only bloke who went out of football with more Brownlows than friends.
@hirdy6 He is intelligent, he just has no sensitivity whatsoever. Disappointed with his immature childish response to his sackings by the Lions and Bulldogs, an example being tipping the Gold Coast earlier in the year against a full strength Bulldogs side that had just romped the Lions by 13 goals. I will say, that last sentence gave me a laugh, I have heard it before but it's so true, hahaha
@tuedaye No self-control, as in, doesn't know when to hold back from making comments that may be deemed inappropriate, doesn't know what is a taboo subject, doesn't know when to shut up in general. Thought it was obvious.
@BiggerThinking1 It's ironic that people say that when in reality a lot of footballers would probably be of higher intelligence than those making the claims.
Chris Judd and Tom Scully both got 95+ on their ENTER/ATAR scores, and Will Minson from the Bulldogs speaks fluent German, is studying an engineering degree and plays the saxophone brilliantly despite making an absolute fool of himself at times on the field.
@nathanstorm7 No its not ironic because NO footballers are of higher intelligence than me - i have IQ 145 at least (and probably higher) - in the top 1% of the World. Speaking German doesn't mean jackshit except that he has German parents probably and saxophone is one of the easiest instruments of all - I play guitar and its much harder.
How did I make an error, why would I assume some moron arguing with me on a YouTube video was incredibly intelligent, in fact, naturally I would assume quite the opposite.
I think someone needs to find an outlet for their alleged intelligence instead of wasting their time arguing.
@nathanstorm7 You made an error claiming that footballers generally have above average intelligence. But THEY DON'T! That's ust a fact. (1 or 2 % might - but that applies in any field - there are a few genius garbage collectors too - exceptions and outliers are not representative.)
I actually never said generally, I said that a lot of footballers are of high intelligence. You must remember that the AFL has upwards of 700 players and likely close to 800 when Greater Western Sydney are accepted into the AFL for the 2012 Premiership season.
And how can you be sure? Most footballers are reclusive because of invasive media personalities and the fear of saying something that may be true or their opinion that will be blown out of proportion.
You fail to back your argument up with any statistics.
Many AFL footballers are very good media spokesmen for their respective clubs, examples being Phil Davis, Tom Scully, Matthew Boyd, Sam Mitchell, Simon Black, Chris Judd, Scott Pendlebury, and many more.
James Hird and Simon Goodwin are also excellent speakers who recently passed into the coaching ranks.
Care to specify who the select few were, or are you just attempting to fend off a legitimate argument with lies?
@nathanstorm7 you mentioned about 10 names - i already said 10 out of 800 is statistically irrelevant - 10 of 800 toilet cleaners are intelligent. [And speaking doesnt mean intelligence anyway - Obama speaks well but he is a moron - that's why he has policy advisors (actual geo-political professors etc.)]
I went to Scotch college PERTH - research that if you want to know who went through there. I'm not gonna mention names here.
I did say 'and many more' if you have cared to read what I have actually said which I doubt..
If you paid any attention to football whatsoever you would realise that it isn't the 80s anymore, footballers can be intelligent. You are stereotyping without providing any evidence.
I don't care where you went to school, I want evidence as to who these 'dumb footballers' you apparently know are.
Back yourself up instead of stereotyping and being condescending.
@nathanstorm7 Pal i got bigger jobs to do - but i admire ur tenacity - like a terrier - cool dude - just check my channel and open ur mind to a bigger world - you sound smart - might take u a year to even watch my channel - and 15 years to digest.
If you had bigger jobs to do, this argument would not have gone this long.
Not interested in your channel mate, I have got better things to do than look at 9/11 conspiracy theories (just an assumption considering your previous comments).
Ahahahaha, I apologize, watching YouTube videos with tags saying 'LOOK EXPLOSIONS BELOW PLANES CLEARLY THE GOVERNMENT'S FAULT' must be soooo much more important than study, sport and working.
If you are such an intelligent specimen, why are you disputing the opinion of a 16 year old on a YouTube video about football, and to cap that off, with terrible punctuation?
Go do something useful with your supposed intellect rather than commenting on a YouTube video late at night.
@rikkiraysmokey yeh but hes a triple premiership player,a brownlow medallist , 4 time All Australian and maybe just the best kick on both sides of the body to ever play the game so you have to give him respect no matter where he is now,im a doggies supporter n i dont like the way his career ended after being a star player for so long

@nathanstorm7 Exactly - EIGHT HUNDRED - 10 out of 800 with uni degrees is a very low %age.
How do I know? Cos most of them can hardly talk. I went to school with a few too - they were the dumbest in the whole year out of 150.
