hooray for raw footage! I probably would have been all over the N900 if only it had 3G for AT&T... ah well. Glad you got it, and waiting for some demos!
I have a theory of how to pick my next smartphone. When you notice the buzz is fading about a phone, stay away. We heard about this phone for about eight months now and the excitement level is not the same like it used to be. And when you start seeing a bunch of factory delays for the arrival, that's not a good sign. And when you start seeing more unboxing videos than reviews, and not that many phone or tablet comparisons/battles either, stay away don't buy.
Good thinking actually. I think you are right. Won't help people like Trent who want the newest stuff to experience and try out. I have the same weakness. People who are willing to wait, always get the best deal; experience, quality and price wise.
First, some networkproviders (Vodafone f.e.) don't even have it for sale, since it's not really a phone. It has calling functionality, but it's more like a UMPC, so a minicomputer rather than a smartphone. The fact that this device doesn't have any phone keys says a lot in this respect.
And the employees at network provider stores won't be happy to help customers with a device like this while they have to earn their money on mainly the number of contracts they sell.
Bottom line: The techfreak niche for which this phone is interesting, isn't too big. And the willingness to sell this phone isn't to big either. Ergo, this won't be a selling wonder.
We don't have that 3G-problem here in Europe. The networkproviders in the US should just get their act together and support the same bands. About the hard number keys, that's true. But they do however have call buttons, the 'red and green' one. The N900 is the first 'phone' that doesn't have these to my knowledge.
Great quality video as always :) I find this device very interesting but and have seen and read loads of reviews - I see it as a sort of unfinished trial device and think its worth waiting for the next gen Maemo6 Nokia devices.
this is the messiest phone boxing EVAR! I just hate how the boxed this phone. When i received it i was really dissapointed.

I had the chance to use this phone for a while yesterday and I was amazed by it. I wish I could exchange my E51 for this smartphone.

If N900 is so capable, why don't people just use it more often to replace their phones? Why isn't it more commonly used than the N97?

Yeah, that makes sense. Also, 3G is not available on all networks. Though most touch screen smart phones do not have hard number keys, either.
