Heck yeah they did. Look at the subtle clues in their performance (the look in their eyes, the tone of the voice, the mannerisms, etc.). Excellent, excellent chemistry. And of course that is confirmed by the actors themselves in the interviews that they did at the time and when Staci came back to play Isabella's ghost. Not to mention at the 1991 Soap Opera Digest awards, they were one of the only team presenters that walked out on stage together from the same door, arm in arm vs. separately

Of course John and Izzy B had chemistry. Watch Bo and Carly nye part 3 and tell me who has the better New Year's kiss, Roman and Marlena with their spitty kiss or John and Isabella.

Never liked Roman and Isabella or John and Isabella, a totally forced, no chemstry relationship. I've rewatched these scenes and still don't see it. No offense but the chemisty he had with Diana and yes Marlena is just not there with Isabella.

You are entitled to your own opinion of course, and I say this with no offense intended, but are you blind? If you watch a lot of Staci and Drake's scenes together you can obviously tell they had a great rapport off-screen and that transpired into their scenes as their characters. Yes, he does have a rapport with Diedre Hall and probably had one with Genie Francis, but I can't stand to watch Diedre and Drake together as "John" and "Marlena". To me, Staci brought out the best in Drake!!

John looks good with any woman.Not just Marlena. Please don't be offended by my comments,but I think that Marlena Evans is not all that good looking. I think John Black belongs with either Ava Vitali or Kristin Blake or the actress who played Isabella. What is the deal with the Jarlena pairing? I don't see what all the fuss is about. In my opinion,Jarlena has no chemistry between the two. Correct me if I am wrong and no offense to the many Jarlena fans out there.

Ahh!! I totally agree with you about J&M! I loved John the most with Kristen and Isabella.

Roman (Wayne Northop) and Marlena had more chemistry than John and Marlena ever did or ever will. J&M are just too damn campy and fake. I've never really liked them together and today they are just boring as hell!
