I just bought Rocksmith and it's a very cool beginners tool. But i really bought it for the USB guitar cable, which looks to be very good quality. Now i'm looking for the best PC virtual electric guitar sound effects programs and this looks very promising. So this is a VST plugin.Which midi program (which is non bloat!) would work good with this?I don't want one that takes up too much memory and/or has conflicts with other programs.
Does anyone know when you use your computer as an amp, is there any lag/latency? Also, does it create those sounds instantly or only after you wait 5 minutes and process the sounds will you get to hear what you just played? I don't have an amp and I'm wondering using my computer as an amp will be okay, someone please respond to this =). Thank you.
Would this program work with one of these ebay .com /itm/Alesis-GuitarLink-1-4-USB-Cable-1-4-Guitar-Link-/310337717857?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item484191c661 ?
@912mindchanger I disagree, although amplitude has some great features and has more amp models and what-not, GTR has a better tube feel, and with the right teaking I can get the perfect sound. I also have run sound in 192K which brings out a lot of quality. Amplitude is a great program though, but after fiddling around with GTR3 i'm hooked.

GTR3 has Waaaaaay better stomps, but the the actual amps, cabs, room reverb, is no doubt better then GTR3. Might be hard to get a sweet tone at first. I did not find the tone in this video great, sounds kinda distant and muddy... There is a lot of knobs you have to memorise, it's all pretty real, no instant magic tone button (you'd have same trouble recording real amps), but once you got them, vandal becomes quite good.
@KeistasZmogelis Actually, when I come to think about it, V did sound pretty good, but It kept crashing in cubase 5 for some reason. When it was working it sounded pretty good.
@dannyo009 I haven't used it, but it should work for real time play. Really you can use any vst for real time play, just put it on a track in your DAW and turn on real time monitoring for that track, then whatever you play will pass through your plugin chain.
did you recomend me this interface (m audio 410) to use whit vst sims like this one and pod far, revalver, lepou plugs etc.? i'm looking for a good auido quality
Hey Dimi, MetalGod from GAM here :) Nice tone, man! I like the demo a lot. The first amp sim that got all 3 amps good, IMHO. I'm a Marshall type of guy, and I got into it pretty deep. I got it sounding awesome even plugged directly into my motherboard's integrated soundcard. I'm getting the Megadeth type Marshall + Tubescreamer tones pretty close. And it's by far the lightest amp sim for the CPU. Just, the mix knob on the delay stomp is lacking the low mix area, don't you think?
@MrExiztence NOO!! The sound is amazing at amplitube.. i said it sucks because it got the Noise Gate, and it cuts all the sound.. you cant do harmonics.. nothing its horrible!
Jeez, I've been playing guitar for many years and I just can't hear a difference anymore between software and real amps. Anyone who tells you they can is totally full of s**t! Can't wait till this Vandal thing comes out.
does the 1/4 inch to 3.5 mm converter trick work with this software?

@dannyo009 Yes. And easiest way if you get a mini host for this VST (I suggest SaviHost). Don't forget asio4all aswell to reduce the latency.

MKIII Revalver is Perfect!
And Guitar Rig 4 Pro Is very good.. Also Native Instruments Guitar Combos are Kick ass!!
conca121212 2 years ago
Maybe because you're too lazy to find a good sound. The Amplitube 3 presets suck indeed, but you can make a killer tone if you just try a little
