I have natural hair and was becoming frustrated on how to style it as it continues to grow out. We pretty much have the same hair type and length, so I will definitely try every single style you posted. I was wearing wigs in the meantime but I don't think I'll be needing that anymore. this is a good regimen you have... your grease sealing method after cantu didn't work for me, but that's good if it works for you.

@micuba Try mixing 2TB of Cantu Shea Butter leave-in conditioner, 2TB of Whole Leaf Aloe Vera Juice, 2tsp of castor oil and 2 tsp of jojoba oil. It is INCREDIBLE! I just stopped using Kinky Curly Knot Today because for me, it simply didn't moisturize my hair (which is very thick) like I needed. It began far too dry within days. With the first application of Cantu my hair & ends were soooo...moisturized. I can't believe I had the product but never thought to swap out the leave-ins.YEAH!

This is really cute. I tried this 2 strand twist out method twice, came out ok around edges in the back, on the side, and the front part of hair; now i have been have difficulties with the center/back portion of my hair. It is very course, thick, and the twist out looks extremely nappy compared to the smooth twist outs around it. Do you have suggestions on what products i should use to help with this?

@VintageCouturee I will not come out nearly as defined with relaxed hair. Try a braidout instead. And no your hair doesn't have to be curly, her hair is not curly and neither is mine :)

@VintageCouturee Hey! If you do a twist or braid out on straight hair, you will need rollers or rods to curl the ends. I used this technique when I was transitioning and it turned out pretty!

Day 3 Hair was TOO perfect! LOVE IT! Right amount of curls...cant see any parts, great volume with length! Cant wait till I can do a twist out again! I have it braided for the winter : \. Lol its only been 3 weeks and I miss my CURLS!!! I've been natural for 1.5 years - transitioned & had a full head of natural hair after 8 months when I did the chop..hair is down to my shoulders now and i HATE wearing weave now lol...I'm about to take this mess out lol but its hard to maintain in the winter :\.

@BuglashesCorner-I have 3c hair and can experience a lot of frizz with a twist out. If your frizzing, glycerin and water-based styling products are not your friend. If twisting on damp hair, the KEY is to make SURE your hair is TOTALLY DRY! and then maintain style with a butter or pomade styling product. After untwisting, the glycerin in products will try to absorb water from the air thus encouraging FRIZZ! Hope this helps.

@BuglashesCorner hmm not really sure. I don't experience too much frizz and I think its bc I twist on wet hair. (Helps curls to set) Whenever I twist on damp hair, I get more frizz than normal.

@BuglashesCorner I used to die of frizz! My hair tends to frizz more in the front than in the back. When I put in two strand twists, I do them small enough so that I don't have to separate them much, if at all, when taking down.

I also learned to set the twists with a gel after applying product. I prefer either Aloe Vera Gel or Eco Styler Gel with a level 7 hold. Hope this helps :)
