They achieved this simply because of the fact that they were shooting on 1/8000 shutter speed. If you go to the alien bees website, it clearly states the flash duration for a b1600 as 1/1800 of a second on full power, so it is conceivable to shoot faster shutter speeds than that without running into any serious issues. Bottom line - for any real world practical use - these are not capable of high speed sync.
Ship date? I'm tired of hearing about products that are coming and they still aren't hear yet. Don't tell until you can provide it. I love the new highspeed feature but you can't tell anything from these photos go outside and show us some real samples please")

It is not that easy. They have to compensate for the delay caused by the triggers. Try it with a conventional trigger, and you'll see.
PW has also found a way to achieve that.

March 16th, 2010 I just got off the phone with a tech at radio popper and YOU CANNOT achieve HSS with the setup they are talking about.
I have a PX transmitter and a JRX Studio to trigger my AB400 and it cannot be done... even tho their blog clearly states it CAN.
What a load of crock!
The tech said that they were able to achieve it but it shouldnt be able to. What ever the F that means.
Fail.

How about the White Lighting X1600, will you be able to use high speed sync on that?

How about a Photoflex 650 w/s strobe? Can this alow me to get a high speed synch with this?
wondnaereh 1 year ago
If you can do it, then why isn't it in the JRX manual? Why have you not mentioned it again ever since posting this video?
Because it's not a supported feature. Next time don't jump the gun to announce something that will not be implemented.
