  • awesome lol Atheists have Rock and Roll fuck yeah! \m/

  • steve martin doesn't listen to randy newman

  • Satire is a risky form of humour. Just think about Dean Swift's solution for the Irish over-population problem (Irish should eat their own babies).

  • why do all you waste youre time? just believe your belief and go about your business.

  • we dont require representation bro.

  • I'm an atheist and I find this hilarious .

  • @TheLastguy0 what? you represent atheism and are here to promote the righteousness of it?

  • wut are you talking about, we have OFWGKTA!

  • who cares if your an athiest? why project it? its an inner feeling, keep it for your self youre not a missionarry for athieism.

  • @elgmalone I don't think it was meant to be taken that way, it seems more like a spoof to me.

  • @l337pwnage After re-watching it I think you might be right. All music is atheist music except gospel.

  • @elgmalone ur dumb

  • @camcamhasaquestion At least I don't believe in imaginary magic sky monsters.

  • @elgmalone

Lol - I can't believe you took that literally.

If you notice, the crowd cheers at the punchlines about all of life's guilty pleasures that atheists are allowed to do (like have sunday free, and watch football in their undies) and also that all the good forms of music - like the blues and rock and roll - are atheist.

It's a pro-atheist humorous song sung in a Bible-Belting red neck country style, pretending to be anti-atheist.

  • @jazzx251 Yes, I realize I made a mistake. I've admitted it. I suppose since it's on the net I'll be admitting it and responding to comments like this for years to come.

  • @elgmalone Most atheists, like myself, are vocal about our atheism because our country pushes religion on us constantly.

I hardly think it's fair to tell a minority to keep their opinions to themselves while allowing the majority to spew whatever bullshit they want just because more people believe it.

Also; you can't be a 'missionary for atheism', as a missionary would entail religion, which atheism is not.

  • @PSNBloodraid

    LAW OF THE LAND

    Court rules atheism a religion

Decides 1st Amendment protects prison inmate’s right to start study group

    wwwDOTwndDOTcom/2005/08/31895/

  • @777archangeI777 I don't care what a court rules, it's not a religion. To prove this point, define religion for me.

  • @777archangeI777 I mean seriously, if a court ruled bald a hair color, are you going to sit there and say "Well, a court said it was, therefore it must be the case"?

  • @PSNBloodraid Nice Job Parroting Rev. Richard Dawkins... your right bald isnt a color but Atheism/Evolutions is a Religion...

  • @777archangeI777 Under what definition is it a religion?

No one says we came from a rock, so don't even try it.

    1. I'm me.

    2. I came from my mother.

    3. Because my mother fucked my father.

    4. When my brain stops functioning.

Besides, atheism doesn't ask these questions, stop being so naive.

  • @PSNBloodraid That is exactly what Evolution teaches, that we all came from a rock. 4.5 billion years ago...

  • @777archangeI777 Uhh... no...

  • @PSNBloodraid Atheism doesnt ask these questions those who believe do or in the atheists case those who dont believe reguardless, weather they are Christian or Atheist man asks these questions. at some point in our lives we all do. its human nature.

  • @777archangeI777 Okay, and what does that have to do with atheism?

  • @PSNBloodraid Everything... It molds your worldview. science is telling you, you are an animal, so why not act like one?

  • @777archangeI777 We do act like animals, perhaps you just ignore that side of humanity though. Besides, evolution has nothing to do with atheism, so get that out of your head.

Atheism means nothing other than "I lack faith in the gods." trying to attach things to atheism is fucking retarded, so stop.

  • @PSNBloodraid Evolution is the religion of the Atheist. it has everything to do with it. Just read Darwin, Marx, Hitler ,Stalin,Lenin all were strong believers in Evolution and all were Atheist, the sad part is they all had a judeo-christian up-bringing. The practices of eugenics are based on atheism. Planned Parenthood was founded by an Atheist and friend of Adolf Hitler... kill the undesirables and make more room for the elite. survival of the fitest. hence natural sellection.

  • @777archangeI777 Evolution is a completely separate entity from evolution. So again, stop acting as though they are the same. Why are you categorizing Darwin with mass murdering dictators? You need to stop confusing social Darwinism with evolution, because you're looking more and more ignorant with each post you make. Also; Hitler was a Roman Catholic, just thought I'd clarify that.

  • @PSNBloodraid Evolution is the religion of the Atheist. There is no getting around that. Darwin's book is what inspired these men to do the things they did, you can see it all throughout their works. even Darwin was a Christian at one time. but all including hitler changed their worldview to that of an evolutionist, after that one has no choice but to be an atheist. The origin of species was designed to make God bleed. to remove God from his worldview and anyone who read it.

  • @777archangeI777 If you refuse to listen then I am done talking with you. Good day, sir.

  • @PSNBloodraid Thats your call Dude. Debate not your forte anyhow. you lack the knowledge to comprehend the actual scale of the subject. you prefer emotion over logic.

  • @PSNBloodraid There are four great questions that man tries to answer in life. These are called the great philosophical questions. Who am I? Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going when I die? The way you answer them depends upon the way you view the world.

  • @PSNBloodraid There are two ways to look at the world. Some people look at the world and say, “You know, it’s amazing, a big bang made this world from nothing!” This view is the humanist worldview, which says man is God. Humanism is the philosophy from which the idea of evolution comes, believing that there is no Creator—no God.

  • @PSNBloodraid The second way to view the world is that since there is an incredible design, there must have been a designer. This is the creationist worldview which says God is God; man is not God. These two worldviews are absolutely at war with each other.

  • @PSNBloodraid How do we answer the four great questions of life? If evolution is true, we are nothing important. Actually, we are a bit of protoplasm that washed up on a beach after a big bang about 20 billion years ago. There is no purpose in life; so we might as well have fun. If it feels good—do it. After all, we are just going to end up in a grave to get recycled into a worm or a plant.

  • @777archangeI777 Yes, life is pretty much pointless. Why are you telling me something I already know?

  • @PSNBloodraid Life is not pointless in the eyes of a Christian. i have something to live for, something to believe in a duty and responsibility to my creator and fellow man. my life has meaning to it. and most of all i have Christ's Promise.. and that is worth living and dieing for...

  • @777archangeI777 So basically; you're a Christian because it makes you feel like your pathetic little existence is somehow relevant in the grand scheme of things.

  • @PSNBloodraid No im a Christian because He chose me. my life is anything but pathetic, just because you life a pathetic existence doesnt mean the whole world does, i have been blessed with a wonderful wife two great sons a business a nice home a few cars basically more than i have need for and i dont think i would have what i do if not for some super natural force working in my life.

  • @777archangeI777 And I assume god is helping all of the rich atheists in the world too, right? You're a brainwashed nutcase.

  • @PSNBloodraid it takes one to know one. i think you are as crazy as you think i am. i mean really, you people believe you came from a rock 4.5 billion years ago. when the math says otherwise.

  • @777archangeI777 I think anyone who thinks we came from a rock 4.5 billion years ago is crazy too. Again, you're completely fucking ignorant to atheism and evolution, and you think the two are the same thing...

  • @PSNBloodraid no i dont, i think one is the worldview of another. again for the slow people, Evolution is the religion of the Atheist. and if you believe in Evolution you believe you came from a rock 4.5 million years ago.

  • @777archangeI777 For fucks sake... You're either a troll, or the most stubborn asshole I have ever met. I'm done with you.

Also; lol at you saying I'm appealing to emotion when your whole argument is about how much Jesus loves you. Fucking idiot.

  • @PSNBloodraid actually my argument centers around how much Jesus Loves You. But i must admit i do enjoy a good argument with an idiot such as yourself. you make it so easy. its like a gunfight with an unarmed person. i cant loose lol. it must be hard remaining stupid. you do such a good job at it its almost a shame. maybe someday you will evolve into something with a brain. LOL but i wouldnt count on it...

  • @777archangeI777 Not entirely certain how one can loose anything? Just wondering.

But yeah, at this point I've concluded you are just a troll.

  • @PSNBloodraid Okay ill buy that, i dont see no shame in trolling for Christ. but you are still an idiot !!! LOL i have an idea how about you Lets Play Read a Book !!!

  • @777archangeI777 Sorry, about half way through my current book, don't care to go back to the beginning to record it.

  • @PSNBloodraid So you can actually read? thats awesome man im proud of you !!!

" Pats PSNBloodraid on the back" more than i can say for most of you moonbats.

  • @777archangeI777 So, can you shut the fuck up and stop trolling now? I'm tired of needing to read your stupid fucking responses. Cheers.

  • @PSNBloodraid Well that is the beauty of America, i dont have to shut up. I think Conservatives have been quite for far to long... funny how you people are always trying to infringe on our first ammendment right to justify your own rights... no i dont think ill be shutting up now. but you have yourself a nice day anyway...

  • @777archangeI777 atheist (ˈeɪθɪˌɪst)

    — n

    1. a person who does not believe in God or gods, thats all atheism is, evolution is also not a religion. Also Atheists are usually more well educated when it comes to the bible just do a google search for "Atheists know more about religion"

  • @PSNBloodraid "Even children grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will sour on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31

  • @777archangeI777 Can I quote the Koran in an attempt to convince you to convert to Islam too?

  • @PSNBloodraid But the Bible says, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” If that is true, we have a whole different set of answers to those four questions. God’s creation of the world means that we had better find out who He is and what He wants. We were created in His image with a responsibility to obey Him. When we die, our choice in life will determine where we will spend eternity—in Hell, separated from God, or in Heaven with Him.

  • @777archangeI777 One last thing, I like how that article is just a bunch of quotes from people that are talking about how the Court has no idea what it's talking about.

  • @PSNBloodraid On Most subjects id tend to agree with you about the court not knowing what they are talking about however this time i think they are right on the money. it takes as much faith to believe you came from a rock as it does to believe you were crafted by a creator. Atheisim/Evolution is as much a religion as Christianity is. both as the same 4 basic questions.

    1.Who am I? (What am I worth?)

    2.Where did I come from?

    3.Why am I here?

    4.Where am I going when I die?

  • @drummerdo0od It's a gospel song for atheists. It's a satirical joke by a professioanl comedian who has been funny long before your dad dripped you down your mom's leg. It doesn't have a message beyond anything ironic or comedic. You're a dimwitted idiot and shouldn't be allowed out in public unsupervised.

  • @OneTrueEdge Yeah, sometimes if I'm feeling ignorant I'll write a douche comment and not put actual logical thought into it. But did you really have to be THAT harsh about it?

  • @buddcinder, Yea. Go Team ! We do have some challenges, though, mainly feeding of those 7B people without continuing to borrow on our future by sucking every bit of energy and clean air/water we can out of mother Earth. It takes 2kW of electrical power for life support of a single human being's brain power on the ISS . Makes your laptop brain look stingy. That doesn't count food. That's just the price of clean air and water, once we've used up with mother Earth has.

  • @Truthforfreedom1 It would be not good to have such an explanation. Heaven will be crowded enough with all those pious hypocrites and it would not do to be rubbing shoulders with all the largely blameless riff-raff while in the collective eternal effort to blow smoke up the back-end of Yahweh. So demonizing atheists, and other minorities is little more than heavenly population control and snobbery. 8^D.

  • Awesome!

  • @hioctane1000 He was a pantheist. He didn't believe in Adoni/Yahweh.

  • I don't care about your religion. This music is hilarious no matter who you are.

  • @heathmcateer good for you! don't ever take a side!

  • But we (atheists) can have a unifying belief/faith in humanity or science or "fate". Even Einstein (an atheist) talked about belief in the order and reason of the randomly evolved universe, often even using the word god to capture the essence of the order behind it all. And that belief could be captured in a culture, comparable to the hippie anti-war rock-and-roll movement of the 60's. Belief in nothing is like not thinking, not possible. Atheists just think our belief is rational.

  • @hobsonlane No, that it IS rational.

  • @retrogamerist, It just isn't rational to believe that human ingenuity can overcome all obstacles and prevent a slow descent into disorder and nothingness (extinction) or nuclear annihilation. It's more like hope, really. Societies have disappeared off the planet. Some hominid species are extinct (Neanderthals). The scientific evidence weighs heavily against this hope. "Belief is the end of intelligence."--Robert Anton Wilson. I cling to this belief in science and humanity nonetheless.

  • @hobsonlane Well, I think the human species can find a lot of answers. It is hope, it may be rational. May not.

  • @hobsonlane We are the first hominids to reach 7 billion strong.....we have many of the smartest brains ever working on every serious issue headed our way.......top people!

  • Atheists=sons of perdition, and this I have to say to an atheist, ANATHEMA MARANATHA!

  • For the record, I am in favor of sex education. But, Emmitt doesn't want opinions, he wants evidence. So, here it is. U.S. teen pregnancy rates have declined by 37% over the past two decades to about 85/1000 women age 15-19. But, in 2006 the trend began reversing. Also, the US teen birth rate is up to 9x that of other developed countries. (all CDC stats). Conclusion: 8.5% of US teens are sexually educated...and pregnant (evidence: a baby). 100% of abstaining teens are..well, not pregnant.

  • Hey, Goldcountry - help me out here. You say you believe in people...but (your words, not mine) "not beliefs" and "not words." So, you don't believe in beliefs? Does that mean you don't believe that you believe in people? Or, do you not believe the words you used to describe your lack of belief in beliefs about people? Or, something. Guess I'm just a stupid Christian, 'cause atheists really confuse me when they try to explain what they believe in. Or, don't as the case may (or may not) be.

  • @dannyr123 Perhaps more linguistically rigorously Atheists have reasonable conclusions based on the analysis of evidence. Example sex education reduces teen pregnancies is a conclusion based on teen pregnancy figures in countries using sex education compared to countries teaching abstinence. The belief that teaching abstinence is the right course .is based in faith, it makes crucifix wielding parents feel good but is still contradicted by evidence.

    Abstinence is a dismal failure.

  • So atheists have songs then.

  • @RussianAssassin21 John Lennon's Imagine - and not the bastardised versions that either remove "Imagine no religion" or change it to "Image one religion"

  • @EmmittBrownBTTF1 Ya I know I was just commenting on the double negative in the song title.

  • @RussianAssassin21 "Ya I know I was just commenting on the double negative in the song title."

I have to say the concept of Poe is annoying. It becomes just that bit more difficult to see who is batshit crazy and seperate them those who are smart enough to spot batshit crazy and parody it. The modern use of the double is of course a part of dumbing down language to promote fuzzy thinking before professing BS to push an agenda or is it just that people stopped caring about linguistic precision.

  • I don't not have no atheist songs on my channel!

  • Wait! A cotton picking second!!!!! If Athiests all sing the blues, then how could they possible have Rock and Roll?!?!?!?

  • Four Words:

    Unanswered by Suicide Silence

  • Comment removed

  • we saw this genius in londons hammersmith last weekend and this song in particular got the most applause and laughs so up yours god botherers!!!!!!!

  • Amazing song - I don't see it as anti-anything, just pro-Blue Grass

  • 1:49 I think the Rev. little richard would disagree

  • 21 people signed a petition to the ACLU and wouldn't lighten up. :-P

  • @DWelker26 You mean like the 6,000,000 Jews who won't shut up?

  • Re:DWelker26 Have you heard?

Well, your in the World Court of Public Opinion: Make your case. So far,so little. I say to ALL ATHIESTS: Go fetch your own bone..........

  • Randy Newman - God's Song

Bryan Steeksma - Listen To Reason

John R. Butler - Hand of the Almighty

Tim Minchin - Ten Foot C*ck and A Few Hundred Virgins

    REM - Losing My Religion

For those of you who believe the song title, and note that's nowhere near a full list.

  • Can't people believe what they want, even if the don't believe at all? Live your own life and stay out of others. Shut up and enjoy the music.

  • @brothab2000 Not to criticize.I may agree with some of what you say, however; I am a Christian American, and, ideas must be answered to when accusations are made and, one asked to give a reason for their belief. Re: See, "Legalize Drugs ,Out Law Jesus".

  • For fuck's sake. I came to this video to see what other people were saying about Steve Martin and this fantastic, and totally hilarious song. I did not come to see people arguing in circles about religion. Come on. Just enjoy the fucking song.

  • @wellwornhand wow. please use the f word more. what does that say about you? just curious. Steve Martin has always been a PG" rated comic. I have always admired him for that.

    You , however, are not.

    :^P

  • @2857amy That could be because I am a YouTube commentor and not a globally renowned comedian...

  • lighten up is right! this is supposed to be funny - why can't you just laugh and go on? i don't think there is anything ugly or offensive in the song/video, only in the posted comments... get over yourselves

  • This song is about LIGHTENING UP YOU GUYS!!!!!

  • Nice clear video and audio. Very much love this song.

  • This is just a really intelligently written, funny song. Lighten up! Steve has always been a master of comedy, and along with all of his other talents, is one of the great artists of our time!

  • Brilliant lyrics. Bit hard on the ears, though.

  • /looks at comments

THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS

  • Can't believe people are arguing over this over the internet. What are you going to actually achieve?

  • Actually Atheist do have a song. Imagine by John Lennon.

  • I happen to be athiest, and I LOVE YOU ALL!!! <3 Can't you see all this fighting is tearing us apart? :'( Be happy. Be nice. And just CALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLMMMM!!! Please?

  • Praise Jesus! ha ha ha ha, bah ha hah ha :))) they are coming to Chattanooga on May 26th

  • We have a song: Imagine by John Lennon.

One of the best songs ever written.

  • Atheists have no songs? of course we do. it's every other song YOU christians "can't" listen to because it is not "christ like"

  • I saw this show at Jazzfest - it was very entertaining and no one was offended.

  • Love the Hindu verse, Dino! :-) Om shanti.

  • gee, I think rock n roll and blues came from...gospel music?

  • @tombrisson Gee, I think you got it as wrong as wrong can be, go properly inform yourself before you make a fool of yourself .

(an atheist musician from the Netherlands )

  • Steve Martin's still got it!

  • sooo they making fun of em or what. i don't quiet understand.

  • FABULOUS!!!!!

  • That must explain why I love the blues and rock 'n roll.

  • Oh come on, people! take a freaking joke!

  • Oh come on people! Take a freaking joke!

  • THAT was funny!

  • Agree with ResChronoNullius. My ex is a massive atheist and now anti-theist, and he does nothing but bag Christians and my spiritual beliefs. If I mention anything about his views, he gets straight onto his soap box and gets straight back to insulting all reglion and anyone with - his words - "imaginary friends"

My two cents - Think what you like, just don't push your views onto others.

    And appreciate a good song!

  • It seems strange to me that on every single youtube video I've ever seen which contains the word "Atheists" in the title, there are arguments in the comment section where atheists have to defend themselves against theists and vice versa. Rarely do the comments have anything to do with the actual video. Often it's just trite and clichéd verbal abuse. In any case, I think everyone should take a deep breath, calm down, and relax.

  • Just enjoy the song people. I'm no atheists, but it's just a song & you gotta let people believe what they want. Even the Christ had disbelievers when he was here in the flesh. They at least believed in a God, just not him, so why try to convince someone who doesn't even believe in any gods that there's 1 God? From what I read, you don't argue, you move on because that way is their destiny .It says let those who do what they do, do it till the very end. Not our job to worry about their choice.

  • does it really matter what people believe, why cant we just appreciate a great song?

  • So funny! And from what I've read in the comment above... they probably have no sense of humor too.

  • I just saw this on Letterman last night and thought it was hysterical. Had to send it along to a friend who is atheist and hope she thinks it's as funny as I do. Whatever our beliefs, we have to keep our sense of humor in the face of all that is going on in the world :)

  • I'm glad Steve has some humor in him still..

  • @Schmidty797 i think he always will after all he is steve freakin martin one of the funniest people to ever roam the earth

  • waaaay back there in the mid-70's i lived in Atlanta and saw SteveMartinMull perform at the....oh dear, can't remember! anyway--good to see Steve is returning to musical performance! come to Tucson!

  • Dammit!

"Shut Up" you all and enjoy the song!

    Wich is quite funny BTW!

  • Atheism technically is a religion lol. But who cares, if your a Christian then you need to understand that Atheists have the same rights as you, and Atheists need to realize that as well. We are people, some don't want to be a part of Christianity and they rightfully don't have too. If your a grown adult, shame on you for being involved in petty immature arguments about this shit. Kids alike, this is music appreciate it or leave it alone.

  • @Schmidty797 Atheism is not a religion. Atheism is the lack of a belief in any divine being, nothing more, nothing less. It is a necessary word only because the majority of people in this world believe a fairy tale is true. And since it is taken by most of these people that everyone else believes a fairy tale as well, the term atheism becomes necessary. If there were no people believing fairy tales, no one would find it necessary to describe themselves with terms like "atheist."

  • @PiusRaps Just because you can read a definition off of wikipedia doesn't mean it's true. You seem to be such a hate-filled person so there really isn't a point in discussing anything further with you. Enjoy commenting on youtube status's about atheism and religion. We are fucking people, each one of us has the right to do what we want if it's within a moral right . The fact that you address it as a fairy tale tells everyone you are so ignorant you cannot understand basic human rights.

  • @Schmidty797 Religion is "a belief of some superhuman power or powers, in particular a god or gods, which usually involve obedience, reverence, and worship; and as part of a system which defines a code of living, especially as a way of achieving spiritual or material improvement" (Oxford Dictionary). This does not describe atheism which is "the rejection of belief in the existence of deities". Please don't rage at someones beliefs, says the atheist.

  • @Schmidty797

Typical religious person, you refuse to discuss with us atheists because your reasoning can't stand up.

  • @therapturecrf prove there isn't a God

  • @Jskippy7 Prove there aren't any Unicorns...

  • @Jskippy7 Prove there is a god. As the one claiming he exists, the burden of proof lies on you.

  • @therapturecrf I never said that was my claim, I only asked you to prove there isn't a God. Look up, "does God exist? Albert Einstien"

  • @therapturecrf There is no burden of proof when it comes to first principles. God is a first principle. You can no more prove god exists that you can prove that rationality is real. You either accept it as a self evident truth or you dont.

  • @havock89 "There is no burden of proof when it comes to first principles. God is a first principle. You can no more prove god exists that you can prove that rationality is real."

What utter nonsense. First, "God" is an entity, not a "first principle". Second, most definitions of "God" are in fact also falsifiable because they claim you can beg favors from invisible creatures using ritual magic like prayer. Any manifestation of an answer would be measurable as deviation from natural law.

  • @havock89 Third, if "god" claims aren't falsifiable they are just as meaningless as all other unfalsifiable statements. If there's no manifestation, you can't distinguish between a reality in which it is true from one where it's false. Fourth, most religions claim to be revealed - which shows that your weak ass excuse is false.

A burden of proof only comes in when you want others to take you seriously btw. Simply saying "accept it or not" will not accomplish your goal in that case.

  • @Gnomefro Your first two premisies are flawed so the third is also. God is a first principle and you can use falsifiability on first principles. If God were, they would in turn have been based on a first princple, and that would not be God.

To those who believe in a creator God, no explanation is necessary. To those who dont, they are still wrapped up in their own self-idolatry and no explanation is adequate. I dont waste my time trying to convince cynics, but I do correct their inadequacy.

  • @havock89 It's also amusing how it's dead easy to demonstrate the advantages of logic and rationality. Providing *evidence* that it's a good approach can be done in systematic ways. Obviously people can just repeatedly say "I don't believe you" in the face of demonstration - but they would be in a position where they'd be contradicting themselves if they agreed what was being observed. There is no such contradiction with rejecting gods that don't manifest.

  • @Gnomefro what you have produced so far is just a shifting strawman, so you are hardly the amusingly logical rationalist you self-proclaim yourself to be. It is amusingly easy to demostrate this. As I have done.

    Thanks for commenting.

  • @therapturecrf Or is it that we are fed up of banging our heads against a brick wall that cant understand or accept certain complex concepts?

  • @Schmidty797 "If not believing in God is a religion, then not playing football is a sport, and not collecting stamps is a hobby." -NonStampCollector

  • @Schmidty797 Atheism isn't a religion because it does not require the person to believe in anything, has no dogma or religious texts which must be followed etc, I 'll also refer you to the many comments referencing stamp collecting.

Furthermore, atheists have no obligation to believe in anything unquestionably: our beliefs are based on observations and evidence, while faith is the denial of observation and evidence to preserve belief.

  • @ROFLCOPTER1909 "Our beliefs are based on observation and evidence..." Speak for yourself. I can believe whatever I want. I just don't happen to believe in god. Any qualifiers beyond that, and you're not talking about atheism anymore. Whether my beliefs lie parallel to yours or not, don't speak for me, please.

  • @ROFLCOPTER1909 Which evidence am I denying, in order to preserve my belief in God? I'm very interested in hearing this answer.

  • @ROFLCOPTER1909 The Bible has always regarded one's belief as evidence of their sincerity, and they are rewarded thereby because God is wise,as the song goes..........

  • @ROFLCOPTER1909 Just like religions have belief in a God or a supernatural power, Atheism holds onto belief in absence of God.

*BELIEF* in Absence of God. ;)

  • @hackminded I don't have a belief in the absence of your God, but simply a lack of reason to believe in it. The burden of proof does not lie with me, but you.

Show me evidence (good evidence) and I believe, show me none I I do not. Simple as.

  • @Schmidty797 lol if you think atheism is a religion you are severely uneducated.

  • Clearly they are only familiar with American atheists. American football (referenced in the song) has no songs, but that's not the sport Rednex are referring to in their hit song "Football is our Religion". Or try Manu Negra's "Santa Maradona" (Saint Maradona) for yet another. No soul? What about "When the Spurs come Marching In" or any number of chants/songs based on hymns. Cute song, though.

  • Umm Sorry Steve. Every song that doesn't mention god is an a-theist song.

  • Idiots.

  • HA! That was awesome. As an atheist, it's one of my new favorites :D

  • Lol!!! This is absolutely brill!! : )

  • John Lennon wrote a lot of Atheist songs...especially Imagine, the most beautiful song of the 20th century
