  • OH MY GOD!!!

  • SMOOTH.... oops, Smooth, Yo'. Hella tight.

  • As far as I understand it, you move crossfader that change you midi note that make sound on turntable higher or lower pitch? Please answer.

  • 0:20 thumbs up if you own that record.

  • Words cannot describe how amazing this is. I really hope you got a patent or something for this and no big companies try and rip you off. What type of Talk Box is that or did you make that yourself too? Mad props, can't have enough respect for you and your humble attitude, it's a breath of fresh air. I hope you get all the fame, fortune and credit that you desire in life.

  • What was the tube in your mouth connected to?

  • Dude your stuff is the best but it's to mellow make a mix with like hip hop rock

  • great song and awesome controller good job man! btw is there any way you can post the audio only preferably 320kbps or higher. I really fell in love with this sound.

  • WANT

  • YOU ARE A FREAKING GENIUS, i was thinking about the turntable talkbox think as well ^_^

  • aww man hell nooo.. that's dope shit right there. !!

  • Yeah what he said and when is this prototype gonna launch?

  • how the hell did you make that?

  • Praise the new king, in the dj industry!

  • i want one

  • what is that record at 1:30 that you use?

  • that put a smile on my face i think i found a reason to live man where can buy that thing you got....

  • You are a fucking pioneer dude. The intro too smooth for your own health.

  • dope!!! what a way to take the decks to another level.....

  • Does it lock in place? Can you hamster switch it? Have you sold it to anyone yet? Any company's make offers?

  • nice!!!!

  • Dude That Fader is genius and it sounds Amazing. I also Like your style.

    Keep it up

  • very clever, use the fader for pitch right?

  • Will this be a highlight at 2010 NAMM at all? I hope Vestax picked up on this. This will resurrect the skratch game, If not, I would never understand why vestax would make a guitar-mixer-ttable and not something more useful like this.

  • I know y'all hate me for not posting any video in so long but I'll have an update soon.

  • I'm selling a vestax controller one, if anyone's looking for one.

  • dude thats brilliant

  • So much SOOOOOUUULLLLLLLLL.

If the corporate stiffs don't step up to the plate and pick this up put me on the list for a home-made version. I'll mail you an 06 and everything.

  • this video if fully sick, i've been coming back to it for the last few days.

serious respect on what you've made, i hope it goes on sale one day, could really take everything to a whole new level.

It's another step forward (a huge one actually) to the ignorant idiots who say the turntable isn't a real instrument.

  • lol are u joking?

i just saw the vid of you trying to cut, you have to be joking.

  • just my opinion

  • haha, this is so funny and gimmicky!

    love it

  • This is Very nice. Props to you. I hope to see more come of this but I know how it is. I Did something I called a scratch paddle years ago but I need to rebuild it and bring it back.

I think it would go nicely with this kind of thing.

  • maaaaaaaaariko! ke¿?¿ yo kiero un fader de esos convivee... ahahahah y lo dela voz de tubo dejasela mejor a kayne..

si tienen link de este mixer en venta.. ruedenlo

  • Genius idea but yikes the tube is better heard and not seen. Looked like something from Saw VII...

  • talented guy. love the fader concept. it's been 9 months now, any news on it, how it's going etc?

i'de love to see another video posted with any news on how it's going.

    did you get the patent?

    regards, jones. x

  • @babjonsey

showing allot of respect there george :P

  • new standard

    if you ask me

  • cool invention

can i make one and use in public?

  • i like to test

  • i came across this vid by accident and wow am i glad i did. that was good shit. the creativeness of that guy. amazing. every once and a while someone comes up with an idea that changes everything. if only we weren't birdened by work so much, i'm sure we'd have a lot more great innovation.

  • dis is a tuuune ... is der anywer i can download this, its too chillin swear down .. sick tune n controller .. like many sed be4, wish my pmc had this

  • wow!!!

  • lol at the voice tube. nice idea for the fader though.

  • That is SICK!!!!!

  • dope innovation!

    well played sir!

  • omg i havnt seen anything anywhere near this sick

  • That's innovation right there.

Can't wait for Numark to ripp off the idea and make this into a mixer/turntable combo featuring a cheap X-Y joystick.. Pitch/mod joysticks all over again!

This is serious art people. This man is changing the scene in 3 minutes 31 seconds.

    Big up, massive respect

  • Wish my pmc 06 had one of those lol.

  • it's amazing... i like it...

  • wow thats nice... i want this fader too

  • i heard those controller ones were nice to play on nice video that straight up freestyle nice

  • i dont undestand it... :S

  • wooooooo!!!

    much respect for u

  • C O O L ! :))

  • wow dude good luck on that.

    Its Genius!!

  • AWESOME!

  • Love this.

Can't scratch, no decks, still love this.

You had any offers for it yet?

  • GreenEarth you're right, it changes the notes on the turntable so you don't have to press the buttons. The computer is recording the audio from the mixer.

  • Super SIIIIIIIICKK!!!!.......Ill shit dude.

  • Holy fucking shit.

That's all I have to say, about that.

Oh... And when's a mixer like that going to be around for a yokle like myself to pick up?

  • saw this in this months mix mag! amazing stuff:P!

  • its great to see turntablists develop new technologies. i especially like the way that you made it like a trombone in that you can slide up and down notes which allows more control for bending, vibrato, and arpeggios. if anything, that was the c1's greatest limitation in terms of changing pitches and notes.

  • holy shit! THATS DOPE MAN!!

  • wow dude, just wow. that shit is so dope

  • I wonder where the hell this technology will be in another 5-10 years time???lol!

RESPECT FOR PUSHING THE SCENE FOWARDS!!!

    peace!

  • DUDE! Thanks for teking it to another level! Very Creative!

  • Hey dude quick qeustion.. DO you play any instruments?

  • C1 & percussion. Really basic keys.

  • cool

  • the beat is so sick, i need that on vinyl. the singing so-so, but nevertheless, next level shit

  • Thanks. Yeah, the talkbox is there more to show what's possible with the fretless fader and C1. There's been no way to do what you're seeing until now. The talkbox is basically an effect pedal... You don't actually sing at all but rather shape the sound of the instrument with your mouth and throat. To sum it up you're looking at a single tone being scratched and pitched to different notes simultaneously to form a melody, I just made it "talk".

  • amazing at 1:30, such precision.

  • me too well podcast

  • FUCK WOW... NEXT LEVEL

  • Just saw this on Attack of the Show and had to look it up.

  • me 2

  • that is the coolest thing i eva seen and way to make one for a technis just to controll the pitch to change the sound

  • And I meant the one shown at 0:29

  • 100 mph backsliding turkey cuts

  • Word. I got it from John himself but thanks again.

  • Hey John, what record are you using for the cuts? I see it everywhere and have been trying to figure out what it is for forever.

    Hit me back fam!

  • That's really nice. Clever also.

  • Are you going to be selling these?

  • This is cool man. Very innovative.

  • Wicked...

  • Wow amazing idea. This is revolutionary!

  • this controller is very nice. but maybe there has to be included a display, what midi signal is put out? and the position of the fader is more visualized? Also an engagefunction would propably be better for controlling, e.g. tone-beatjuggling. but in all this kind of solution by putting the clicking and pitching together impressed me very much!

    40ps!

  • Thanks! I didn't include any marking/leds/display on this 1st prototype because they're not completely necessary , especially since the C1 has it's own display for viewing the notes. I've got lots of ideas that aren't included on this first proof on concept. Thanks for the input.

  • I know how it is! No! It's really awesome stuff! I self want to develope a special mixer with midi in. Therefore I made a prototype on my computer and can control two pdx 3000 at the same time. A prototype is just a compilation of necessary things you want to check. If you build a car you don't put the engine into it if you just want to check the air stream.

But I hope that it can be really revoluted that its really hard sounded and melodic. I will put some videos into to give example.

    40ps

  • what is each fader controlling?

I see two...but cant see how he bottom is affecting the sound...

    someone explain please...

Is one controlling the FX...and the other the mix?

  • got it...

  • thats pretty cool man, great job.

  • Pure genius!!! I am seriously in shock. This changes EVERYTHING. Thank you for this amazing contribution to the skratch world and music in general. Could this work with a pdx 2000?

JohnBeez, you are my new hero.

Damn, I want it I want it I want it!!!

  • If I'm not mistaken, this prototype could only work with a controller one or a PDX3000. Or any turntable with midi control. ...as I understand it anyway...

  • no fucking way, this is insane!!!!!

  • ???? That ISH is Amazing!! Who designed the Fader?!

  • He did.

  • this one is definitely going to revolutionize turntablism. just hoping vestax will drop prices for the controller 1. it's way too expensive. Great job man, no more taking your arm off the vinyl or the fader to change notes... definitely gonna keep my eye on this one. btw you got soul.

  • turntablism on crack.

  • Love it. The only thing that kept me from going nuts on the controller 1 when I first palyed with it @ namm was the inability to change pitch without taking your fingers off the vinyl or fader. You solved this.

If you need a beta tester let me know :) - I'd love to get my hands on this!

  • mate sickest that beat....

  • Dope!

  • You REALLY NEED TO PATENT THIS DESIGN NOW!

  • Well, I see you already did! Pat. Pending in the video!.. Good luck with the patent grant!

  • Wow. This just blew my mind. If this gets big, which I'm almost sure it will, it's going to be the next step in the evolution of turntablism. Thank you for creating this, now we scratch DJs can't do this without needing to fuck with the pitch control.

  • awesome

  • Tight shit Lu!

  • This is SICK!!! Love the song and the fader. I'll definitely be looking for it. Is this song by your band or something you are spinning?

  • mmhm! :D

  • The track is made completely out of scratching regular vinyl (minus the drum loop) in multiple layers. The controller one combined with the fretless fader makes everything possible. The talkbox and solo were freestyled.

  • INteresting! How much are you thinking the Fretless Fader is gonna cost? I also need to see how much the COntroller One costs. That looks like TOO much fun!

  • extremely cool. love the vocoder touch, adds a nice oldschool element to newschool technology. you can quote me on that if you give me one of those faders... hoho

  • thats amazing man, really liking it!

  • fantastic man, great work, this looks like a blast.

  • amazing.......................................

  • crazy

  • That is so damn cool. I slept on this video from the description because the technicalities went over my head. But it sounds real nice. Props on the innovation!

  • haha thanks. I try to keep the technicalities to a minimum, but I've had to go there to keep people from misinterpreting what they're seeing.

  • dude...that's very making me laugh my ass off...i love it, feel the spirit...dope shit!

  • Heard about this idea a long time ago. Nice to see someone doing it and making it work!

    Big respect!

  • Wohhh.. Eyes wide open Dude.. Your fader is fckin mental.. Class idea Bro. P

  • Next level shiz dopeness amazed :-)

  • wow.....

  • awesome bro!pretty creative...i have just a qustion whats that cable in your mouth??

  • Talkbox

  • Sup JB!

This is true next level shit.. John your gonna go far bro.. I can always say I knew ya before you "blew up" haha.. Keep pushing bro.. Gonna check you guys ( Blount Harvey ) out in Raleigh on the 21st.. Stay up bro!

  • Love this, keep it up JohnBeez.

  • f*cking brilliant

  • this is amazing

  • i don't usually write here or anywhere else, but this... its awesome, i'm amazed, congratulations!!

  • wannaezie you are musically handicapped if you dont see whats going on. Did you take apart the pedal and fit it into the vestax? Whatever it is, that makes the c1 that much cooler.

  • They never made the pedal. It's a midi controller wired into the sliders.

  • I am amazed!

    That's so ingenious.

Keep it up, you've got a good thing going there.

    5 stars, favourited and subscribed

  • i don't get it, he can move his crossfader the other side up?

    wow!!

  • amazing! 5*s

  • I listen to this at least once a day since Gizmo put it up on Skratchworx.

  • apparantly gremlins made some people really believe the creatures do excist.

  • dope work

  • oh my god!!

  • hot damn! that's a nice concept! i had a similiar idea for this, only difference being you chnaged the octaves with a foot pedal... this makes more sense though, definately got the trombone thing going on... looks cool and sounds great!

  • This fader will ONLY work with the Controller One, because I designed the turntable to change the motor speed to the correlating pitch on a chromatic scale (or any scale you program). I even added the major / minor functions. You can transpose, and set different base notes. It even has GATE mode, which allows you to program arpeggios on tone records. All of these features are inside the turntable itself.

It's funny how it took this fader to come into existence for people to get the concept.

  • I was going to break it down in the next video but Ruckazoid's right, the Controller One turntable is doing all the note changes, the Fretless Fader is just sending it MIDI messages.

  • PROPS!!!!! from Vancouver music world

  • Killing it. It's like a b-boy trombone! Plus a talkbox... It helps that your cutting is tight! Some of these tech examples are done by people who can't scratch, so it lessens the impact. Like I said, you're killing it!

  • fuckin sick stuff

  • Dam son. Good Work.

Would be a good add to put marks on the mixer for the different keys.

Just an idea for your million dollar invention that you need to patent. lol

  • That's the freshest invention I have seen in years!!! Can't wait to see this in stores so I can buy one. Tons of respect for the innovative thinking!

  • soooo freeesssssshhhhh.

  • Please be in contact with someone from Vestax or some shit. This is highly important and needs to be spread throughout the community. Kudos, you ingenious motherfucker.

  • the moog guitar and now this this is really that new level ish takin the tables to mars

  • Amazing, Next level & Very Musical!

  • Real Phresh, I imagine the possibilities, great work!!!

    HZA

  • this is dope, i must say you made me giggle with the tube in your mouth kinky.

  • Nice! This gives me new ideas to my own midi project! Thanks man!

  • SO SO SO AMAZING. AWESOME!

  • wow is all i can say

  • All I can say is WOW!!!!

Seeing this make me feel like the next level of turntable is on it's way and finally people will look at the tables as a instrument. Watching this video I don't know how anyone can deny it now.

  • HOLY %@#&^%#$!!!!!!

  • amazing

  • amazing!

  • This is exactly why I created this turntable, to bring this into existence, welcome to the next level

    RUCKAZOID

  • you just designed it,i bet the technicians at vestax japan created it.

  • No i built this prototype myself. If Vestax had done it for me I would be posting pictures in a bboy stance next to their engineers.

  • i was a reply to the ruckazoid..lol he made a remark that he created the c1.

don't doubt you,i guess this would also work with a pdx3000..

  • This really is innovation, love it.

  • Jesus, this changes everything doesn't it?

  • Absolutely the most amazing turntable innovation I've yet to see. Congratulations!!

Oh damn and talkbox too? WHAA!

  • I'd get this shit patented asap

  • This is pretty incredible, mad props on the design, implementation and your skills. So fresh.

  • super awsome I want one. amazing.

  • Battle scene is dead in North America but thrives elsewhere.

  • amazing!!good work bro !!

  • pretty cool dude. although the turntablist battle scene is pretty much dead IMO Turntablism itself continues to live on.
