Except that the gameplay should be the most important thing when you're playing a video game. One of the things to remmeber about Sonic and the Black Knight, for instance, is that you're in full control of Sonic.

Not really. What you see here are just the "Get to the Goal!" missions. Every stage has 15 to 20 missions, such as boss battles, harder versions of the stage, clearing certain sections without taking damage, clearing the stage within a time limit, hitting lots of enemies, and so forth.
You're also ranked (gold, silver, bronze, or nothing), and you have to get certain ranks in certain numbers of missions to unlock more stuff.

Out of the whole game, I hatwed this stage the most next to Dinosaur Island. But this game was awesome because it was fun and I'm a big Sonic fan! :D

It's part of the same subseries as Secret Rings, but it plays very differently.
