Actually...vocal "damage" can be fixed it usually repairs itself. A number of singers voices have recovered and some stronger and better than ever after cleaning themselves out after drug use...Mary J, Natalie Cole, to name a few.... she's under repair and I think she's gonna do big things. Actually, Barbra Streisand has done it about as well as anyone can do it. She is 67 now and though her voice not the powerhouse it was in her prime, she still sounds amazing.

Whitney's problems were drugs and very poor vocal technique. I saw her in concert several times in the 80's and by the end of each show, her voice was ripped to shreds.

I appreciate that she tried to give so much, but sometimes it is smarter to save something for yourself.
