Terrible writing with horrible voice-acting on top. Ugly characters, but some of the monsters are good. Combat is clunky, archery is a joke. I couldn't give two craps about the story either because I couldn't make sense of it. Call me an idiot, but I couldn't bear trying to decipher it when all I hear is "forsooth", "nay", "verily" etc in every bit of dialogue. I know they're a European developer, but bad Shakespear crap made me turn it off.

But dude, when you press up on the right analog stick to move the camera up and down, it actually sometimes goes COMPLETELY SIDWAYS, when it's not zigzagging, how could they fuck that up its so crucial to gameplay. I cant even aim at mobs man LOL its so bad.

this is totally not a bad game at all. For the first hour you will think it sucks, but once you get some gear and take on a few quests.. it quickly becomes immersive. Open world, open ended RPG's are a rarity.. so when one comes along be greatful.
I am playing this, just found a tiny little village in the middle of nowhere and now have 5 more quests! So you can imaging how many quests are in this game! And the amount of armour and spells and weapons is mind blowing, and you get used to the style of talking. It not bad, it's just different. Better than just 6 voices used over and over with American accents in Oblivion!
@HardWarUK true there were more voices in this game, but in oblivion the voices came from actual proffesional voice actors whereas in two worlds, the devs just got their staff to do it, true story
@dragonforks93 Not true as most of the developers cannot speak English! Plus there was a huge update that had new voiceovers for many of the NPC's I believe!
@HardWarUK oh I was unaware about any updates as I havent played this game in a while, but I'm pretty sure the people who did the original voices were random nobodies who weren't proper voice actors, it would explain a lot coz u have to agree, the voices are bland, emotionless and boring
@dragonforks93 The voices are not brilliant, but i would always prefer 40 "bland" voice artists than 6 "professional" voice artists like in Oblivion! Yes the patches go to 1.7b and if you upgrade from 1.0 I think it's a 1.1GB download. This is supposedly 80% improvements and 20% bug fixing.

Morrowind cost under $10 million, Oblivion cost three times that, and Skyrim has a $40 million budget. Two worlds II had a £12 million budget. Take this forward and you have an Elder Scrolls VII costing $80 million and a Two Worlds IV at around $20 million. Of the two, it's the Bethesda's that are going to have to give to stay profitable!

This review is SOOO misleading. He makes Two Worlds sounds much better than it is. The size of the game is impressive, and the story itself isn't bad, but to say it's a terrific experience is just plain crazy. And this game definitly slows down in offline play as well. I don't know what engine their using, but it can't handle more than three or four characters on the screen at one time. But that's not nearly as annoying as its propenssity to lock up. Save often. Really often.

It's like saying your MP3s that breaks up has "bad reception"; just because it sounds like it doesn't mean that's what's happening. Lag refers to latency across a network, so if you're not online, there's no network to have latency across.
Yea that sounds right, sorry. Well the frame rate problem or whatever is absolutely terrible, from my experience. The game makers of Two Worlds can try to make up for their shame with their new sequel, but I'm not wasting my hard-earned money again.

I saw the 2n'd trailer, and what it looks like on Wiki, a good open world expreince, and yes this seems like a terrible waste for a Game of 2007. I hope the in game graphic and gameplay are as nice, or better than Oblivion. I have never had the chance to play the first one though. lol. I like the idea of spell creation at least, and a evil mages, side you may/may not join.

@MarxAMark No, you're erroneously referring to framerate and performance issues as lag. It's like saying your MP3s that breaks up has "bad reception"; just because it sounds like it doesn't mean that's what's happening. Lag refers to latency across a network, so if you're not online, there's no network to have latency across.

Yea that sounds right, sorry. Well the frame rate problem or whatever is absolutely terrible, from my experience. The game makers of Two Worlds can try to make up for their shame with their new sequel, but I'm not wasting my hard-earned money again.

This game had some of the worst dialouge I have seen.

The textures were the main problem graphic-wise: It was pretty obvious they were thrown together carelessly.
Apart from that, most of the textures were ripped from other games-or so I hear-and they were probably the most detailed parts.
I seriously can't play that game for five minutes without my eyes hurting.

the campaign is a piece of shit. the x-box live gameplay is okay
i really could care less about graphics but it was made in 07 and that was pretty good graphics for back then
they could at least have made a beta as there are 500 glitches..

@jmm1233 They weren't. Just so you know, Two Worlds was started before Oblivion (development), so actually Two Worlds deserves a little bit more respect. Also, the PC is the best platform for all games, especially RPGs.
