yes. immigrants are essential, we need them to remind our complacent selves that we need to work harder. They come in and take our jobs, we'll work harder and get it back. thats how we grow as a nation. Singaporeans especially the younger generations have grown too complacent within their bubble their parents create for them, we need FT to remind us that if we dont work harder, they're taking over.

i wonder if the country's decision makers truly understand the daily lives of average singaporeans. i'm not anti-foreigner, but it can get intimidating when u go into a shop realising u, a singaporean, feels like the foreigner instead.

it takes 2 hands to clap, we can't expect e immigrants to automatically adapt to singapore w/o educating them. that's why many of these immigrants are pissing singaporeans off by bringin their own culture n habits over here.

or perhaps the immigrant population is getting so huge that they prob don't even find a need to integrate themselves into the singapore society.

not really answering the question abt fostering social cohesiveness, but very witty remarks. poor lady though.

i think we've already heard all kinds of reasons as to why singapore welcomes foreigners. fine, if they think it's a necessary move.

if efforts are put into attracting foreigners into singapore, shouldn't more efforts be put into integrating these immigrants into e society?
