  • I lived in massapequa then it was a beautiful area in l.i. n.y.

  • and he was not awarded an Oscar for this... cant understand that

  • "Born on the Fourth of July" is one of my favorite movies. Breaks my heart every time.

Tom Cruise is outstanding as Ron Kovic. The best acting job I've ever seen from him.

To the real Ron Kovic: I salute you, sir.

  • I enjoyed your video. I had the pleasure of meeting and spending a wonderful evening with Ron Kovic recently in the company of friends. He is truly a special human being -kind, caring, thoughtful and utterly brilliant. I was struck by his absolute lack of bitterness. He is a man that we can all learn a lot from.

  • Much thanks, i'd like to go of now and write my own special film and share it with everyone

  • Thanks Jimmy,

I was also in the film and have been thinking about Ron today. If you were around at the end when he and Tom were speaking from the podium at the Convention Center I was the one that presented Ron a portrait. His parents were there that day. It was an emotional time for me and hearing the music takes me back there. Ron...We will always Love You. Happy Birthday, Deborah

  • My Fiance and I just bought the house where the movie was filmed in Dallas, TX. We were wondering if you have any more photos. I grew up a few houses down this house when it was being filmed so I know the history but since I was only 11 at the time I didn't know what all was going on. Now I wish I had those photos of how the house once looked! thank you

  • They also filmed the bar scene/fight at MIlo Butterfingers bar.

  • I am from Oakcliff. They put facades over the various businesses on Edgefield for this parade. They filmed the high school wrestling scenes at the Sunset HIgh School gym on Jefferson. The film wrap party was at Milo Butterfingers bar on Greenville Ave. as I recall. Great film and performances. Broguth back some old memories, A&P grocery and Texaco gas stations just like the 60's Oakcliff I grew up.

  • That was so fantastic. Thank you!

  • Excellent photos. Looks like 1969 all over again!
