The reason I ask, is i'd like to check this area out.
Imagine if somebody was street luging down that street ?
or how about in the winter, sled down the street ! close off the the bottom of the street, add hay bales, a helmet, and some body protection and you have a Epic Sledding contest!
@sk84lif101 If you can get official measurements of their grade, I'd suggest submitting them to the Guinness Book of World Records. Even Guinness doesn't recognize Canton Ave as the steepest street, despite it being a steeper grade by 2% then Baldwin St in New Zealand.
@lildobe I'm assuming they count Baldwin Street as being the steepest on average. Or to put it another way, Canton Avenue is only at it's steepest for a short while. Well that's what I read anyway.
@theultimatekoopa2 I think that they just haven't bothered to measure Canton Ave. Yes, Baldwin street is longer, but Canton is several points steeper, and maintains it's angle for the entire hill climb.
*LOL* I know. I live here! There's a small book devoted to our city steps. Can't remember the name of it...saw it in Barnes and Noble and when I went back it was gone. My husband found it at the library. Did you know that 40% of Pittsburgh can't be developed because of the hills?
Sidewalk Steps are a fairly common sight in Pittsburgh (Take a look at some of my other street videos) also, we have entire city streets that are nothing BUT flights of steps! No road at all!
Sorry, Baldwin St is only a 35% grade (Straight from Guiness) but the officially measured grade of Canton Ave is 37%, per the City of Pittsburgh Department of Engineering and Construction.
gahhh that's scary! One of my fears is driving up and down streep streets. I keep having nightmares of driving on them and then the car rolls over its self and goes tumbling down the hill.
Is that bad area with crime or just run down ?

@indyfan22k Neither, really. But the video doesn't show much in the way of the houses.
