Then I* won't buy that stuff (i.e. boycott) and they go out of business. People like you think the private market is too evil and people are too stupid to make decisions for themselves. BTW, the number 1 poluter has always been the government.
The powers to be that curtail our freedoms, destroy our lives, lie to us, make decisions which affect us all but leave them unaccountable, these all our NOT governmental entities, they are corporate entities, that's where power is located, that's where it needs to be challenged and overcome. Focusing on government is just a decoy, it won't change a thing, they'll just manage the problem differently, they'll market you a more palatable, iPresident like Obama. The result? NOTHING WILL CHANGE.
Why is it that you never hear Libertarians talking about about the intrusive, oppressive and tyrannical nature of large corporate entities? Big or small government is irrelevant the moment you realize it's just set up as an illusion of democracy while behind the curtains they let these horrific entities destroy our health and environment for profit maximization. We can confront government, they know we will so they'll change their shape but they won't change their nature.
@Teankun How about having Monsanto decide what you eat? Or how about having PCBs, dioxins and mercury in your body, waste products of unregulated industry? You like McNuggets with foaming agents in them? Isn't free enterprise great? They get to screw up the country and the environment using the government they control to bless all this as free enterprise, and we suffer for it, our children suffer, our future suffers when we go sterile from eating GMO corn and cloned meat.
@superheronumber1 I'll tell you why, because you can be the greediest person in the world and not make a dollar. You must serve your fellow man and create wealth. The private sector can't coerce you to give it money, only the government can. Libertarians ARE against corporatism obviously because that violates the free market and consists of MORE regulation and government intervention instead of LESS. It is not the abusive power, it's the power to abuse. He states this in another video.
Number of deaths caused by nuclear weapons: 120,000; number of deaths caused by (more direct) government action: I dread to think. Lets face it though, once politicians and bureaucrats have granted themselves such power they will never forfeit it.
Harry Browne, R.I.P. You are the man. "How I Found Freedom In An Unfree World" is a true modern classic. This is the man that should have been President from 2000 until present.
He made me a libertarian too. I read "Why Government Doesnt Work" and "How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World." They are brilliant and will change yur life
Especially since he's been dead since 2006. It even says this in the "About This Video" section.
Harry was a great libertarian in a long and prestigious line. These so-called "great ideas" he espouses are what this country were founded on. It depresses me to realize that so many, such as yourself, think these ideas don't have a chance. And so people like Ron Paul get labeled a kook and government gets bigger, more intrusive, and more unconstitutional every year.
This vid needs to be cleaned up, very hard to listen to :(

Harry Browne was the best canidate the libertarian party has had. Everyone should read "The Great Libertarian Offer"

I would say Ron Paul is the best candidate of both the Libertarian Party and the libertarian movement

The two aren't mutually exclusive unfortunately...

You mean nukes and governments? Of course only a government can own such a pointless device as a nuclear weapon.

Hmmm...great ideas but I seriously doubt he has a real chance of ever seriously becoming the President of the United States.

Well, hard to be elected president if you're deceased.
spazam 3 years ago 3
Yeah, that was explained to me by the person who uploaded the video. Thanks you.
Any more insightful comments?

Any corpse would make a better president than what we get.
