Lol im sweden and i rember and game against belarus me and my dad almost started crying they had played so good all tourment win against canda and Czech and then lose to them that was hard ;( but then Canada crushed them in the semi-final and i cheered for them in the final so ;D and also thank you for the gold 1994 xD
yeah, i think it was on sunday...i'm talking about all the games canada played before the final. which translated into alot of missed classes....our school was nuts about the 2002 olympics.
i remember being in highschool and the whole school watching the games in the gym, classes canceled when the game was on. now that is a country that loves hockey.
@natthor my junior high school had 2 options, go to one room for the hockey game, or go to one of 3 rooms (for grades 6, 7, and 8). the best part of that day in my opinion was having the vice principal in the room with us wearing a #91 canada sakic jersey
because not everyone around the world can afford to set up hockey rinks or have the climate to play hockey, while for soccer( which is the most popular sport) all you need is a n object to kick around and players

Na, honestly there is a reason why Sweden has that reputation. Sure, there will be times when their National Team over achieve but the reputation and legacy of Swedish hockey will always be the same. You just never know what to expect from them. They should dominate like Canada does but all too often they roll over. I can't explain it but I know it is a reality. More importantly, the Swedes know it too.
Sweden never won the World Cup/Canada Cup tournament, I'm sure of it. The tournament has been played 6 times, Canada's won it 4 times, USSR once and USA once. Get your facts straight.
Followed by Olympic Gold in 2010, and hopefully 2014.
