Actually, this song is from 2112, as you probably know. It takes me back to my teenage years(about 30 years ago) and is still one of my favorite Rush tunes. Great to see such a young man enjoying music from my era! Keep rockin` it, dude..
Man! You've got the kit to do this justice - including the chimes and cowbells! BUT ... the most important part of a drum kit is the talent (or not) who sits behind it and makes it all come together! And you have got talent!
That was awesome! Very, very well done, AlStark!
That was a privilege to watch and listen to! Than you!
Man thats some good drumming. That is probably the closest you can get to the real thing. I started drumming about a year ago and Neil was a major influence. I'm only 13 and praying that Rush comes to Cincinnati soon. I have been trying to work out this song because it is one of my favorites but as you probably know that it is hard especially the rolls and plus I dont have a set that is big like yours. I thought my set was pretty big but obviously not! You are really good and thats awesome!
From one drummer to another, I respect the amount of time that it takes to perform Neil's drumming. You had a few minor mistakes during the ending, but all in all a commendable cover.
well done ! A really challenging song that you deserve real credit for...........this type of playing takes many hours of work..........please note all drummers who seek to emulate heroes !
I was gonna leave a mindless retarded statement, but it appears that I have come to the wrong place to do such a thing.
And didn't these peoples moms ever tell them that if they don't have something nice to say, they should just set themselves on fire and shut the eff up?
Okay.... Now.
Am I the only one here that caught the way the drums turn this song inside-out during the solo? I never noticed that. But I never listened to it from behind the kit either.
"I would love to jam with you guy" would be the proper (but really weird) way to say it. Unless you're talking about the guest drummer in my YYZ and 2112 vids. But, umm... He's not real.
Well... He's real, but... He's a puppet. He's made out of fur and a sock. But he does play a mean kit, man. And now that I think about it... He's easy to travel with. I can just toss him in a bag or wear him on my foot.
Great job! I didnt really see a problem with you keeping time except a little towards the end but we're talking about covering the greatest drummer of all time so you should be proud to say you can play peart damn near perfect
yeah, and it seems like most of, if not all of the negative comments are people who don't have any drum videos up to show how good THEY are, it's like if you can't do it, don't tell HIM how bad he his, at least HE'S doing it, and it's not perfect, but he's far from being horrible, dang good actually IMO
Thanks! I don't claim to be perfect, I'm taking a chance out here, by posting these video's. I expect that , not everybody is going to like them, but for the people that do, hell is worth it!
Thanks! I love playing Rush too, just having fun and you get some immature asshole who's got to put his two cents in, hiding behind a false name coward.
Better yet, you kill yourself. You negative jerk. The world would be better without people like you and your trash talk. It should be DanDan the Supreme Dick.
I think you did a great job Al. Your other videos rock too. You've obviously put alot of hard work into your drumming. Kepp it up!
@DanDanSupreme guess u didn't hear the middle part and high hat part with perfect timing!! dude get a grip and don't be suck a loser cause you hate yourself!!
I think all the songs on Exit Stage Left... sounds better than the studio versions. Rush was in the zone that night. I would give a testicle to go back in time and be at that show.
agreed, I really enjoyed it when they played it this last tour (got to see them with my wife, who LOVED the show) Geddy can't sing as high as he used to, but I really liked the way he reworked it to fit his range.

This is an incredibly good version of the song. He keeps very good timing.
But since you are a such a Peart fan, where is your version dan? Wanking off to porno Star Trek does not count as a drum cover for Neil Peart.
Ass swipe.
