There's a lot of more creative things you can do when combining video with your DJ gig. Of course, the SVM-1000 is a behemoth, but you can get something like a Panasonic MX-20 or AVE-7 for pretty cheap today. Projectors are also worth every penny (especially DLP types) and it lets you explore a whole new area on entertaining the crowd. And you can go absolutely crazy when you're syncing up the audio, light desk and video gear through MIDI.
