@SHADOW432156 you can get storms, thunder and lighting, night which slows your crew down, and unbearably hot which also slows them down and some other stuff, u can get rain and so on

I've seen in some peoples videos of the game that there is a hideous Amrican voice saying 'I'll get that bilge rat!' in it! Do you have to have that voice? Can you turn it off without losing the sound? The game looks great but that would really irritate me! lol!

It is one of your crew in boarding actions that says that line. Both crews exchange insults and threats till you start the boarding combat.
