I seen an advert on TV for Warburtons bread and Barbers Adagio started playing as it was an advert about somebody burning a loaf of bread ?????? Then it reminded me of this advert when Skip Raiders drops at the end ...... That was about 4 hours ago now and im still looking at old Gatecrasher videos ..... Miss that place and people so much : - (
Fuck this was the add that made me sneek into my older brothaz room n steal his gatecrasher disco tech album at nyt n listen to it.i was 10 and was hooked ever since.
I was listening to this yesterday (original CD bought for my birthday way back). Then the realisation hit me that it was released almost a full decade ago.
I feel so bloody old :(
Still, at least the tag line "It will always be with you" is true - 10 years on and I'm still blasting it out. Cracking CDs, truly.
you are right, at 28 im still as much in love with crasher as i was 10 yrs ago. DOnt go anymore (partially to it burning down, partially due to growing up) but when im doing the chores, the classics get blasted out! The missus still cybers for a laugh sometimes...!!
Agreed! DTG is another one of my favourites, along with Digital Trance. Residents Transmission 02 is a pretty good summer album too, but is even more overlooked because the first one was awful.
I liked the recent Moscow and Sheffield albums, but not as much as the older stuff(from GSS to DTG. Ever since GC changed to Gatecrasher One the music seemed a little underwhelming to me.
Ever listen to the Chillout discs from 'Digital' and 'Experience'?
Its almost hard to say which is better because they each had a unique theme to them. Im not such a fan of the resident Trans one's...I really shouldnt have paid £30 for the 1st resident one :-s
Yeah, Moscow was a bit of a surprise with a lot of Psy-trance on it...and sheffield was good as well although some tracks let it down.
Ever sinse they sold out in 2003ish its gone down hill, and ministry did nothing to help by relaesing 4 classics albums under the gatecrasher name :-(
Oh yeah....I havent listened to the chillout CD's from Digital/Experience that much...just a few time before going to sleep and when doing some homework! They were a nice little addition though.
I wasn't there, so take the following with a pinch of salt...
apparently the police were only after dealers, so everyone else was pretty much left alone. lots of suggestions of dropping things from coppers as you'd be searched on the way out - that sort of thing. all quite jovial! (well. unless you were on their hitlist).
I think the police found it quite strange when crasher kids started asking to have their photo's taken with a pc...
That club was something that will live with us for the rest of our lives anyone who never experienced Gatecrasher at The Republic really missed out on one of lifes amazing experiences.I was in Fort Myers Florida last summer when i started receiving text messages saying Gatecrasher was on fire!! I went to a Fed EX Kinko's to use the internet and what i saw i could not believe. Something that will never be replaced was lost last June and a million memoories went up in that acrid smoke RIP
Sorry I accidentally clicked the thumbs down icon instead of thumbs up. Had to post to concur what you said. Gatecrasher had magic, something that i will never forget.
Tiesto? Are you fucking kidding me? It's Samual Barber - Adagio for Strings, a piece of modern classical composed in the 1930's.

Good album but nothing compared to Black, Red, Wet and Global Sound System.

Global Sound System will always be my favou!rite GC album
infamycomms 3 years ago
yeah, Global Sound System was a complete change of musical style from Black, Red, Wet & Disco-tech.
Actually come to think of it....Disco-tech Generation is very good, but often over-looked. Its great for the winter with its dark theme!

Fair enough. I live in an area where those CDs perfectly compliment the scenery in summer, so I don't listen to them any other time of year.

Still got mine - listen to it all the time!

Gatecrasher died well before it burnt down. As soon as it got raided things went majorly down hill.
