i learned banjo as the first instrument i learned to play (about 2 years ago!!) and it wasn't hard for me, because i couldn't relate to any other instrument and get confused by tunings and stuff if you've learned another string, you might get confused because the tuning is so wierd, and the three finger technique is wierd at first too! but i do think that if you know guitar you will still pick it up faster!
