  • Excellent use of the sculpture as a tool of incredible storytelling. Your work advances with every piece you share and we are blessed to receive your gifts! Thank you Beli. ~dj

  • Thanks for the reminder of how much I LOVE OAKLAND! Thats my town! Great work Beli

  • hey beli,

until i reached 1:13-1:19 i thought "this would pop if there were explicitly queer images of people of color". the queer poc community is what makes oaktown stand out from other bay area cities. glad to see you added pride pics. in general i think the clip could use more people images to distinquish our fair city.

luv the black and white footage.

    my .02 cents.

  • @skyeviewtraveler Thanks for the feedback! Each version was intended to have no people, as I only wanted to show the Town's beautiful landmark architecture and lines. Also the film was shot in color then filtered as I love the texture and feel of bw. The Sigame sculpture is an exquisite work of Art, combining 20 different women of differing ethnicities who helped shape the City of Oakland. When I shot it, there was no notion of it being a queer film. Pride was added to this version last minute.

  • Great work-as usual! Loved the snaps of Oakland Pride, too! There were some landmarks that I didn't recognize which means I need to do more sight seeing!
