@NicKingPapiChulo right, part of the funding was through the US Department of Education, so not having subtitles was considered one way to help Spanish speakers learn English and English speakers learn Spanish. Much of the spoken dialogue is repeated in the other language, so after repeated viewings it is easy to understand what was being said.
@NicKingPapiChulo - no need for subtitles because everything that was said in English was cleverly stated in Spanish so anyone could understand what was going on.

yo no conocia este programa hasta hace 10 dias que estaba de visita en mi pais natal (vivo en ny), nicaragua, lo estaban presentando en por television por cable en un canal llamado "marti", la verdad al conocer la cultura cubana me doy cuenta cuanto tenemos en comun los nicaraguenses y cubanos en nuestra costumbres familiares, maltratos por mal manejo politico etc...
