  • another jackass just like press bush

  • I believe the powers that be are orchestrating a redistribution of wealth on a grand scale. If you can't afford to live in Florida, then move to Iowa. Some wealthier people from New York will buy your house (for a substantial discount) and live here quite nicely.

  • doubling the exemption is a joke. rolling back to 2004 is a joke.

They need to start over and put taxes where they were in 2000 and then just cut spending. I don't need my Florida roads re-paved every year.

They'll drag it out in drips and drabs and maybe cut my taxes $200. geez, thanks.

  • And, why should taxes go up just because real estate values go up?? That is ludicrous. What does one have to do with the other? People are leaving Florida. So, why are MORE services and expenses needed?

And, why do I pay $6500 on one house i own and $2500 on another right across the street? Same values. The whole homestead thing is rediculous.

  • the problem is not that taxes are high. That is the symptom. The problem is that spending is out of control. Why, all of a sudden in the past 4 years do we need 4 times more money than we did? It's absurd. They came in and repaved my road a year ago. Nice job. Then all of a sudden they're done paving and they have to paint a double line and put little stupid reflectors on the lines. unnecassary. I mean this is a little residential street. that was probably $50,000 just to paint the lines.

  • Thanks for covering and posting this McClane. Bravo to you.

  • Special Interest lobbyists "usual" method of manipulation is to get you to give up and shut up. Check out the YouTube video "Tallahassee Refugee.

  • Cut property taxes in half on home under $500,000.00. Impose a flat rate income tax of 5% on income up to $25,000. Max $1000.00. Tax out of state workers. $100.00 public school fee (each child) for parents of kids who do not own homes.
