Kool Idea, but change the lid to a mesh with a rubber band it wud increase ventilation Mitch better, prolly some stockings or summat wud to the trick, used to use this method to house crickets easy and cheap
BAAAAAD IDEA DUDE!!! the jar is fine but the lid isnt...u have to replace it with anything else that can ventilate and isnt metallic. Ive done it before and the lid started to rust and pieces of the rust were falling into the enclosure. Change the material of the lid before its too late mate.
The jar idea sounds like a great idea to me, once I find one big enough I'll try it out! Thanks for the video!
About the ventilation thing, you could just cut a hole in the lid and tape a piece of window screen under or over the hole. Just a suggestion if air flow ever becomes a problem.
When I was researching to get my adult Avic I was told on the boards not to use glass as they require ample ventilation. They suggested to me a plastic jar with holes all around the top of the jar as well as on the lid too. Also, a critter keeper on its side would work. Good Luck!
The avicularia might require a bit more ventilation, I have been told several times that the avic species of Tarantula needs a lot more ventilation than most. Also, what kind of jars are they? Pickled Onion jars etc. that have been cleaned out?
yea i explained in the vid i used boiling water to clean and sure more holes it is thnx for the tip and also any sort of glass jar really doesnt matter whats inside of it like pickles etc jus the size of them and thnx again for your helpfull info and comment unoz
