This is one of the finest recorded shows of Kiss. My first Kiss show was during the '79 Dynasty tour (hard to believe that I was once 12 years old!). There really was no other band like them (bombast, fantastic songs, larger than life image). It's a shame that they did not call it quits after the 1996-2000 reunion, in my opinion. I can't help but feel that the current incarnation of Kiss appears very tired, and lacks the remarkable chemistry of the original lineup.

I thought the Houston show (well, the second night anyway, I never did get the first night) was pretty awesome when I first saw the footage back in 95. Given that I already had one of the Houston shows on a reasonably good quality bootleg, I would have rather had THIS on the official DVD release.
should email gene and ask for a kissology redux. Theres a few shows i want to see, the destroys anahiem remastered, the shows in europe for the alive tour, and more of the tv promos and interviews. I agree with you about Kissology Vol. 3 I thought it was pretty stupid that they include the show where Ace's smoking pickup guitar failed during the Shock Me solo. It's like, "Gee, which show could we pick to make Ace look like a total schmendrik".

After having seen - and listen - the whole of Kiss alive video repertoire available here in Youtube, I wonder why they decided to "doctored" their performances in the studio for Alive I & II. The "real" - I mean, not overdubbed - stuff was amazing! Oh yes, sometimes they could be not on cloud nine, but we're only human beings in the end.
Yes, they had 3 days to record for Alive 2 and it was so disapointing to hear the final product. They hacked all the solos, left out Take Me, added BS songs. The Bootleg "Sneak Attack" is the way Alive 2 should of sounded.
I was there...crowd hysteria was intense!! Peter's murderizing it. They were never better than 77 @ Cap Center...seeing this as a 9 year old fucked me up for life ( in the best way!! )

Performance wise this is better than the Summit. However the Summit crowd was much wilder. The Largo crowds just sit there. Another great thing about this vid is the center stage camera. I like seeing it straight on!

Did KISS hit Capital Centre twice in less than three months? I saw them on Dec. 22, 1977 at Cap. Centre... have the stub and program First concert ever attended for me... had just turned 9
I´m a KISS Fan for twentyfive years and in 1977 four years old. I saw KISS ten times in 1996, 1997 and 2008 and it was incredible but I give all the shows for these one in Largo. The energy was amazing. KISS at their prime.
I think Paul and Gene wanted Ace and Peter back 4 the reunion tour 2 possibly get into the RnR Hall of Fame. When that failed, those 2 got the boot...but I think Peter n Ace are laughin cause of the fans reactions 2 the imposters in their make-up.
KISS had it made without Ace & Peter. Singer & Kulick were dependable. Gene & Paul TOOK A BIG RISK & brought Ace & Peter back because the FANS had begged for it. Simple as that. Gene & Paul aren't the bad guys. Ace & Pete decided to move on in 2002. If they're happy, great, but they are not laughing. Their solo careers, as before, will go nowhere. I do believe they still care about KISS' legacy. As for imposters, there's always a douche posting that crap on KISS videos. Go watch some ABBA, boy.
It doesn't get any better than KISS...the original 4 were so incredible together. And they're not even in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame!!!!! What a pity...not having KISS in the Rock Hall is a black eye on rock n roll itself.

If people were willing to consider listening to both musicians, one would appreciate that Eric's drumming gave KISS's back catalog more of an edge. Criss' swing background helped some songs (Nothin' to Lose)but limited others. Eric's drumming on Detriot Rock City and Black Diamond, I beleive, proves this point. They are/were two different drummers with two distinct styles. Eric's suited the band better live. Nothing can touch Ace Frehley's sound and technique. Truly the soul of the band
Peter was not kicked he told the band in person that he wnted to quit and they asked him if thats what he really wanted and he said yes in the papers or whatever it said Criss quits KISS
You are so naive. Peter was so out of it that he bullshitted his way into the media. His behavior due to his poor choices was his ultimate downfall; even Ace Frehley admits Peter was fired.
I don't think it's a coverband. And you can't blame Gene and Paul for not having the original members today. Peter was kicked because of the drugs he were taking. Ace left the band on his own.
Why bother checking out or listening to new bands when you've got the original KISS!

Performance wise this is better than the Summit. However the Summit crowd was much wilder. The Largo crowds just sit there. Another great thing about this vid is the center stage camera. I like seeing it straight on!

Alot of people don't realize that aside from the stageshow, the music was "crack your ribs" rock and roll. Very underated band.

KISS is not half! It is a freaking hole rock n' roll band! Ace and Peter left because of personal problems with Paul and Gene! They´re comeback in KISS was just a money thing! Ace and Peter is hard to replace! But i think that Tommy and eric Singer is doing it great!

Did KISS hit Capital Centre twice in less than three months? I saw them on Dec. 22, 1977 at Cap. Centre... have the stub and program First concert ever attended for me... had just turned 9

I´m a KISS Fan for twentyfive years and in 1977 four years old. I saw KISS ten times in 1996, 1997 and 2008 and it was incredible but I give all the shows for these one in Largo. The energy was amazing. KISS at their prime.

I think Paul and Gene wanted Ace and Peter back 4 the reunion tour 2 possibly get into the RnR Hall of Fame. When that failed, those 2 got the boot...but I think Peter n Ace are laughin cause of the fans reactions 2 the imposters in their make-up.

KISS had it made without Ace & Peter. Singer & Kulick were dependable. Gene & Paul TOOK A BIG RISK & brought Ace & Peter back because the FANS had begged for it. Simple as that. Gene & Paul aren't the bad guys. Ace & Pete decided to move on in 2002. If they're happy, great, but they are not laughing. Their solo careers, as before, will go nowhere. I do believe they still care about KISS' legacy. As for imposters, there's always a douche posting that crap on KISS videos. Go watch some ABBA, boy.

It doesn't get any better than KISS...the original 4 were so incredible together. And they're not even in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame!!!!! What a pity...not having KISS in the Rock Hall is a black eye on rock n roll itself.

If people were willing to consider listening to both musicians, one would appreciate that Eric's drumming gave KISS's back catalog more of an edge. Criss' swing background helped some songs (Nothin' to Lose)but limited others. Eric's drumming on Detriot Rock City and Black Diamond, I beleive, proves this point. They are/were two different drummers with two distinct styles. Eric's suited the band better live. Nothing can touch Ace Frehley's sound and technique. Truly the soul of the band

I don't think it's a coverband. And you can't blame Gene and Paul for not having the original members today. Peter was kicked because of the drugs he were taking. Ace left the band on his own.
Blame Peter and Ace instead.
