Wolf Creek is not entirely based on true events.

A novel written awhile back kinda influenced all the fears of evil drifters in the Aussie outback. Then of course the reported events happened, Ivan Milat and Murdoch are examples of two infamous killers. The story itself is not real all these events that it was supposedly based on happened very differently. Ivan tortured and killed tons of peeps, Murdoch killed a dude and took his girlfriend hostage but she escaped- unlike the film.

Oh my goodness!!! What a waste of time... I know it's base on true events but wtf kinda movie is this? It's more boring than watching a boring romance movie.. This is not good, and this is not what a horror movie suppose to be. It takes 1 hour and 5 min to get to something, but even that it still sux nuts. I'm serious!!! Some of you guys reviews are soooo misleading.. That proves to me to never listen to critics.. I literally yawn the whole time in the film even the torture part which still sux.

Hope to burst all of your bubbles, but this movie is based on SEVERAL mysterious events, NOT just one "backpack" murderer. The woman that inspired this movie wrote a book about her experiences. I forgot the title, but it's about this guy who did drugs and while under the influence, kidnapped her and tortured her. The story of the backpack killer might be true, but I doubt it happened like this movie says...when the survivor , a man, was charged, and then later cleared.the killer is still free...

I had the misfortune to see the 2nd half of this film when it was shown on TV in the UK, it should never have been made. This is ghoulish and voyeuristic in the extreme, to make a film like this reveals a totally uncultivated soul, and imposes this on those who have the misfortune to see it.
