@MjsInMyHeartForever, Yes, WAR still performs today but they are now called THE LOWRIDER BAND, because their WAR name was taken from them by a lowdown producer and he gets to use the title WAR for his gain and live off the works of the original artists of WAR/LOWRIDER BAND.

..Fiday nights from 6pm to 7am. From 8 pm till end, they play some tough, tough music. Like the original revival style version of WAR's "Slippin into darkness". There is where I heard Howard Scott telling the story of how they split. Howard and the rest started up again as S.O.B (Same Old Band), Thee Original Lowriders and now apparently LOWRIDER BAND (name gets to the point :) ). I saw them at Hollywood Park race track a couple of years ago. Both are good bands (LB and WAR) but og is best

Right on LBF. WAR's more recent history has been a little confusing and I've heard a couple of different stories surprisingly enough from Mr. Howard Scott himself. He's done a couple/few interviews on a radio show I've listen to for about 20 years. It is a very unique station that plays lesser know or rarer music and appreciates bands like WAR. It's on KUCR Riverside, California and online now but only Friday nights. - continued...

Not too many people know that the "WAR" that tours right now really has one original member: Lonny Jordan. The rest of the surviving original members of WAR (Howard Scott, Lee Oskar, etc.) have a band called "Thee Original Lowriders". Years ago, Lonny and the rest of the guys had a falling out, Lonny pulled the rug out from the other guys and legally obtained the sole right to the name "WAR". I have a recording from about 2006 of Howard Scott being interviewed and speaking about this.

WAR fans CANNOT let the OG's of WAR be forgotten while they are still here on this earth. 2 corrections on your statement though, the REAL WAR OG's are now known as the LOWRIDER BAND, and Lonnie Jordan doesn't even own the WAR name. Original WAR's evil, lowdown, scheming (and I'm being nice) producer, Jerry "goldigger" Goldstein, won/stole WAR's copyrights in court and he is the puppetmaster for the current lineup of karaoke WAR. Because Jerry Goldstein-Golddigger has the copyrights to the WAR name and is undermining himself by not letting the new generation check out how awesome WAR music is! Make it heard and deliver the word by checking out the OG's that have to go by the name Lowrider Band but still sound great playing all the original songs.
