Don't swallow everything she says! I do not know what her agenda is, but she definitely has one. I don't know of any classroom in my district (I'm also on a local school board!) where the teacher has time to "challenge their beliefs!" That's hogwash! Do we teach kids to get along and not bully each other? Yes. Do we try to change their beliefs, religions and values? Is she crazy? NO! We don't.

That's why I put my kid in Catholic School and we are not Catholic...thats how desperate I was for him to have at least a"fighting chance" education wise. More importantly I teach him at home what I think he should know, even went back to school a semester or two to get familiar with the "basics" I may have forgotten...You have to be comitted.

Challenging and changing the student's fixed beliefs? This is not only happening in America but the bullying has spread to Australia. Bringing about "change". Who does that sound like? "Common Unity" is outright EVIL! We have a State Premier in Victoria who said "The Education System exists to bring about a socialist utopia". I rest my case.

American education is used soley for the purpose of brainwashing and getting children to go along with the masses. Critical thinking is something thats not in our current education system, instead it is being discouraged. The fact that this has to be explained on youtube is proof enough, I notice this everyday. Its better to keep a society entertained and unaware or too amused to care of what is really happening .

American education is a joke. I'm in college and over half of my peers have never even read a book. But this is a trend that has been going on for a long time, beginning with television. For anyone that doesnt believe this I suggest you read "Amusing Ourselves To Death," and "A Brave New World." In California elementary students are now being taught not only to be tolerant of gays but to embrace that lifestyle. Its bull. Children should not be introduced to that by our schools.

Its to make a 'fairer society' and to empower the less mentally adept to obtain academic qualifications to make them 'feel good'. It sucks, as an employer I find it hard to find decent staff. Qualifications define the person, to sort the wheat from the chaff.
