This isn't Metal Gear Solid anymore. They should have made a completely new game. It's cool but no stealth or realism. What happened to the good old tactical espionage action.
I am a fan of the MGS series, going all the back to MGS 1. When Raiden was incorperated to the series, It instantly became better, and bringing him back was great. And with his weapon being a vibroblade, made him one of my favorite charachters. I hope that Platnium Studios can keep it together and still make a great game.
As much as I like this game and indeed looking forward to it....I wonder what would people think of the idea of a future Metal Gear game starring Revolver Ocelot?

@JokkeHimSelf I still think that fans of the franchise would prefer stealth elements, rather than a hack and slash game. It's splitting the fanbase. I, for one, am not into the hack and slash genre, so I would be in the crowd who prefer the old metal gear solid controls. The story is the only thing that interests me, but I won't play a genre I don't like just for the story.
This is mt senior year of school and i hope this game comes out in the Summer time so i will have a relaxed summer just playing this along with grand theft auto 5 and i already know that i will call in sick for work a few times lol

why go with raiden as protagonist for a hack and slash game and not GreyFox?! i rather have them retell the story of greyfox's journey as a cyborg ninja up to the events in mgs1 and not raiden's gay story....

@Keehful i just find it unfair that many games that were ps specific are going to xbox, but no xbox specific games are going to ps. it seems that many would get an xbox to get more games. and im not a fanboy, i just prefer ps cus im use to the button names. (always pushed A when i saw X on my friend's xbox.) and i would rather do free online play than pay for xbox live.

Raiden the Cyborg Samurai. just by looking a MGS4 his moves were never stealthy like. i think some of yall think that he is a cyborg he's a ninja like grey fox. now fox was stealthy cause he had stealth camouflage and all, raiden dosent have that at all. im just mad he still got heels -_-
You have a point -- Raidan DID see himself as a Scout in MG4, calling Ninja the ultimate scouts....but he does seem more like a samurai then a Ninja in his actions

As a long time fan of the Metal Gear Solid series, I am glad the finished Snake's story for good. And technically, this isn't a "Metal Gear Solid" series. Its a spin off on its own. Think "Family Guy" and "The Cleveland Show". They are different but have something affiliated with each other. Personally though, I am pretty excited. I bought the HD collection and I have MGS 4 ready for anytime I want to play "Tactical Espionage Action". But now I want "Lightning Bolt Action" TAKE MY MONEY KOJIMA!

I'm afraid that they are gonna screw up with the fighting sequences, i mean he can slice up an MG-RAY but his sword is stopped by a flack jacket, they should combine it with a little cqc and a little assassins creed finishing moves, not all the way but just enough so it doesn't look like good ol' bashing with a baseball bat, if it's a ninja game then where's stealth, either they should make a bomb out of this or someone else has to make a tenchu with a mgs4 gameplay style, now that would rock

@superspetz24 hey just thought I'd let you know since platinum games took the project it is not tying the story between mgs2 and mgs4. Instead now it's just a side story after MGS4
im pretty sure kojima was very dissapointed just wait adjustments can be made i thought they would keep the action hack and slash for boss fights with villians and metal gear but sneaking all around doing high jumps hiding in corners taking lights out moving in darkness
This game takes place sometime after MGS4, and at the end of MGS4 (spoiler alert) Raiden had his parts changed so he was more human and could live with his familly. While this seems like Raiden and likely is him, we have no confirmation. Hideo HAS made another character who is identical to Raiden (Major Ivan Raidenovitch Raikov), and he has purposely made confusion over the protagonist of his games (MGS2). You never know.

@gamessomanygames Well, that's two questions. Anyway, it's definitely not Raiden's son. Like I said, "pre-MGS4." Meaning Rose is pregnant with John, his son, right now. Plus, the last line you hear in the video is "It's time for Jack to let 'er rip." Raiden was known as "Jack the Ripper" when he was a kid, as told from MGS2, so that's how you know it's Raiden. And I don't know the exact release date.

I'm afraid that they are gonna screw up with the fighting sequences, i mean he can slice up an MG-RAY but his sword is stopped by a flack jacket, they should combine it with a little cqc and a little assassins creed finishing moves, not all the way but just enough so it doesn't look like good ol' bashing with a baseball bat, if it's a ninja game then where's stealth, either they should make a bomb out of this or someone else has to make a tenchu with a mgs4 gameplay style, now that would rock

@superspetz24 hey just thought I'd let you know since platinum games took the project it is not tying the story between mgs2 and mgs4. Instead now it's just a side story after MGS4

No it isn't. That was the original plan, but after Platinum Games took over production, the whole thing was redone. Now, it takes place after MGS4.

im pretty sure kojima was very dissapointed just wait adjustments can be made i thought they would keep the action hack and slash for boss fights with villians and metal gear but sneaking all around doing high jumps hiding in corners taking lights out moving in darkness

This game takes place sometime after MGS4, and at the end of MGS4 (spoiler alert) Raiden had his parts changed so he was more human and could live with his familly. While this seems like Raiden and likely is him, we have no confirmation. Hideo HAS made another character who is identical to Raiden (Major Ivan Raidenovitch Raikov), and he has purposely made confusion over the protagonist of his games (MGS2). You never know.

Wrong. The game was initially set to take place between MGS2 and 4, but Kojima Productions was having trouble, and the project reached a standstill. Later, however, Hideo Kojima spoke with Atsushi Inaba of Platinum Games. They agreed to have their teams work together to make the game and redid the whole thing. Now, MGR takes place AFTER MGS4. The tweets you read were from the initial, unassisted concept of the game. Things have changed.

Frankly, there is no reason to believe it is. It's just a rumor, as I said. It is noteworthy, however, that at the end of MGS4, Raiden has his body modified so that while he is still a cyborg, he is aesthetically functionally human. The idea that this is his son probably spawned from the fact that this looks like the Raiden we know but "cannot be", due to his retirement as a cyborg ninja.

@gamessomanygames Well, that's two questions. Anyway, it's definitely not Raiden's son. Like I said, "pre-MGS4." Meaning Rose is pregnant with John, his son, right now. Plus, the last line you hear in the video is "It's time for Jack to let 'er rip." Raiden was known as "Jack the Ripper" when he was a kid, as told from MGS2, so that's how you know it's Raiden. And I don't know the exact release date.

:\ .... I dont know what to think yet..... Raiden from MGS4 = Awesome,, so Im looking forward to this... but it looks very hack and slash.... and the fight scene with those russians... wasnt bloody enough,,,, you saw what he did to fuck up those geckos in MGS4,,, but its like he papercuts them to death then finishes them quickly.... I just dont know yet >.<..... I love the MGS series and Im still gonna buy this,,,, but It needs some improvements...

i understand where Hideo is coming from on this and im sure it will be fun and have the epic Kojima story with great cut scenes. but i would really love for them to just make a normal metal gear solid that gets back to the roots.(I dont feel safe unless I'm hiding in an orange box)
