I like this, but what you're doing here isn't technically "booting up" in the traditional sense. It's a modified hibernation wake-up, and it's freaking AWESOME, but it needs to be clear that this isn't something anyone would be able to have on a standard consumer PC. If I misunderstood something here though, feel free to correct me!

@igrewold What was the last Linux kernel, you've tested? I am using Linux for more than a year now with various Notebooks and additional hardware like printers, microphones, webcams... I've never had driver problems. All included in the kernel.

@igrewold Finding drivers on Linux is much easier than on Windows ... if drivers for your device exists. After a 15-minute OS install i got a fresh linux in front of me, with the original NVDIA driver installed & updated, working WLAN, sound and printer/scanner. Tasks which took me at least 1 additional hour under windows 7, even worse for XP.

DOS is it's own operating system. Windows has absolutely nothing to do with DOS. DOS is a really old OS! Nothing in Windows is based on DOS.

The command line program in Windows contains similar interface to DOS, though.
