  • thanks for the comment. switching to low reps now. will get back to high reps later. most videos from the challenge is available on this account. went from 8 to 16 reps at 190kg.

  • smolov will take you to overtraining... look, all those exhausting everyotherday workouts are good for a short period of time and while high on testo. you may argue its a matter of will power, just like some think that god exists, but we cant beat our anatomy. just try it. knees go off in 4 weeks, followed by fevers and drop of weight.

  • I'm just going to maintain or build my Squat slowly, and focus on Bench and DL leading up to my meet in 2 months. After that I will probably run the Smolov Base Meso Cyle again and see where it takes me.

  • Sounds like a smart plan! It is good to take it a bit more quiet after Smolov in regards to the squat, so you can regain the hunger for a lot of squatting again, maybe in your case your are still hungry, but anyway, the body need some change. :)

    mål om å løfte 250kg i desember raw på 100kg kv. ser ut som du tar det før meg nå ;) sterkt, uten belte? eller var det et som lurte under genseren? :P

  • Nei, magen er nok bare så feit at det kan se ut som jeg har belte. ;) Gjorde 240 i feb. Og er tvilsomt sterkere nå. Bare blitt bedre på høgreps. 250 er målet mitt i slutten av juni. Belte bruker jeg aldri nå faktisk. Med belte kunne jeg kanskje lagt på litt til, pleier å gi litt ekstra trykk det. Men bjørner og elefanter bruker ikke belte, så hvorfor skal jeg bruke det? Raw med og uten belte blir fort noen kg. forskjell. Du får ta det uten belte skal du sammenligne. :)

  • I am not sure about that this time. It was really heavy, I barely made it and 2.5kg more on the back could have stopped it. ;) It was spine wrecking heavy in the last half of the concentric phase.

    What do you think is a good program for someone like me to get my squat up? I am 85kg and can only back squat 90kg and front squat 80kg.

  • There exist many programs. I was at your level when I started 9 years ago. I would advice to squat at least two times a week, and perhaps have one of those days with reps in the range 6 to 10 for 4 or 5 sets, and the other day 3-5 reps over 5-8 sets. Start with a light weight, and then you build up gradually. That is a simple method. For other beginners methods, you can check out boris sheiko beginners month 1/2 or stronglifts 5x5 beginner program.

  • Nei, skader er en del av gamet Per. Vinner du (noe som er så godt som sikkert), så er det helt fortjent og veddemålet står selvsagt fortsatt.

    Har måttet legge om treningen pga. ryggen, og det er nok en stund til jeg er tilbake til der jeg var i bøyen, for ikke å snakke om 200, men får trent ganske bra nå, med mye frontbøy. Så styrken er nok økende ihvertfall, selv om den er lav :p

    Vekta mi ligger på 97-98 på morgenen. La ut en video idag :) Har akkurat avsluttet program så prøver litt forskjellig før neste program. Har klubbstevne i benk og Jærens Sterkeste før neste program.

  • Satser på 250 ut juni, og 270 på slutten av året, så da blir det hvis alt går etter planen 300 i løpet av 2010. Å nå 300 til sommeren 2010 ville vært fint, for da har jeg trent i 10 år. Men mye kan skje, og fremgangen kommer ikke lett, og vanligvis har ting tatt lengre tid enn det jeg sier det skal gjøre, men la oss håpe på det beste.

  • Skal se filmen ja. Lykke til med planene dine. Benken går nok bra..! Hat er det bare fordi du ikke elsker den. Skillelinjen er ikke stor, of ofte er det bare mentalitet og innsats som skiller. Jeg vet om en som hatet bøy før, og unngikk det, men nå elsker han det, og har droppet ned på benk til fordel for bøy. :ol

  • Great squat mate. That's a shit load of weight man!! I'm supprised you've stopped the high rep squats before you got to 20 reps with 190 though, although i don't blame you. High rep squats are not only physically demanding but very mentally demanding! Good luck with your new goal!!

  • 250kg this june has been a long term goal. I expected to hit 20 reps sooner. Due to enormous work load in real life, this has been a rollercoaster to say the least. Now it is time to crank up that 1RM strength. The 190x20 rep challenge I will co back and finish later this year. I have been doing high reps since february, now I am tired of it. Thank you for the comment.
