Currently this is my favorite song by Schumann, I love singing this, hitting that high G is such an awesome feeling, and this is an awesome rendition. Requires quite a range.
Nice job. While I agree that art songs should not be over acted. I do believe that an audience should get some sense of what you feel as you sing lied, melodie, canzonas, canciones, etc. Walking across the stage might be too much, but an outstretched arm, a small step forward or back, even a hand to the heart I don't believe is out of the question.
im ding this song for a singing competition and watchuing this gives me a little bit more information about the motive and actions of the song... Thanks alot
Beautiful quite low voice and good interpretation. This one was major second lower than usual, so the highest note is G which is also very difficult note for bass-baritone...
I listened-viewed all the posted versions of the Schumann. Sims' voice is the most appealing. There's nothing "wrong" with his accent, projection or presence. Very good work.
very very well done! i love his stage presence it added to the musical interpretation, which is exactly what is suppose to happen! his "O"'s were a bit to open for me and i feel that they could have been closed.
He seemed to go a trifle sharp on a few notes early in the song, no doubt the result of nervousness. He has a warm and listenable voice. A little seasoning could make him excellent.
Hi looks great to see after 10 years! Was there on your left. Cheers!

Splendid. This is my favourite song from his Dichterliebe cycle. I think you sang it with a a very lyrical line and great depth of tone.

Such emotion. very well done. the open "O"s come from his accent and singing style. It did nothing to hurt the song.

The O's are suppose to be opened.

I agree they are, but it's easier to get to high notes with an Ah instead of an O.
