Also, I always talk about the main series, not racing, party or sports spin-offs. I get your point there, though. Also, exploring the Galaxy means what, exactly? New levels and new level gimmicks. But the water mantis/squid levels are the same. Might be others that are the same, but haven't seen as much. Still, if you like Mario, I won't blame you. But a lot of people don't.

So do I, but those games arent that different from the originals like Sonic & The Black Knight. Instead of Mario beating up enemies on earth hes just in space. And theres almost nothing different about Twilight Princess compared to the other Zelda games. Its not like Link suddenly uses a gun or anything. Well, I just beat the game last night and it may just be the turning point in the sonic series I've been waiting for. Fast paced action, speed out the wazoo, about no load time, and the most killer plot twist I've seen sega turn out yet! Unleashed may have a seemingly more "Epic" premise, but the game actually made me want to keep playing after I beat the game! Hence I'm still playing it now, unlocking everything.

I played this game and it wasn't half bad. It's a shame that Mario is looked at as the defining icon of the 16-bit era (even though he deserves it) but sonic is constantly trashed when it's clear Sega is trying to take it's mascot in new directions. Mario can play sports, star in RPGs, and fight witht he best, yet Sonic is expected to stay close to his roots or otherwise risk being shit on. All I'm sayin is people need to accept that sonic is not 2-D anymore and that's fine. Life moves on.

The problem started w/the Sonic X series when they had to make everything kiddy & everything had to be dumbed dwn. Also Shadow started a whole Cloud/Vincint Valintine prob when Shadow & a bunch of other characters started becoming stronger than Sonic. I think this will hopefully bring Sonic up to Shadow's lvl now since Shadow had a bunch of pwrs in Sonic 2006 & his own game w/guns but now sonic has the Werehog & soon a sword so he will hopefully be able to catch up & grow up again.
Not really. They had an idea and it fell through. Hell, every company has done that. Final Fantasy 10-2 anyone? Hell, Square Exix is more notorious for taking risk and them backfiring than sega. The idea was there but the presentation was not. I mean, really, when you had all the rest of Shadows moves already kicking ass it was like...why do you need the guns, you know? You have to make it balanced and sadly, they didn't. But Shadow was an okay game...it's no Unleashed! But ok.
I disagree with you both about shadow, it was a pretty good game and i enjoyed the gun feature, the game, was fast paced and the score was ok, the only problem i had was the missions, where it seemed very stupid, or hard. but other wise it was a fun and great game and I found it quite refreashing to play.

This game is like the least funny game of Sonic. They're FOUR bosses, all easy. The only one that give me trouble is the King Arthur. WTF ?! And for god's sake, the cut-scenes were in animated pictures ! Check it, it's really awful ! Sega is falling...

I approached this just like you, and it's a pretty decent game. Changing the controls from Secret Rings was a definite improvement and people just need to accept this isn't their Genesis sonic anymore. Unleashed was pretty good as well.
Here's how I see it. What makes Mario so popular in his games? The fact they stayed with a constant formula. What "killed" Sonic was that he became slow. His games were originally fast paced and thinking on your feet. When he converted to 3-D he slowed down way to much, and now they're trying to counter act that with Unleashed and the Storybook Chronicles. They're good games, but just not as successful as the original games.

Graphic's don't make a console, Generations are not built up apon them. The Wii is a "Next Gen" console because its the next generation from the Gamecube, thats how it works not what its classed in terms of hardware.

sonic games are always way better on nintendo consoles and that´s kind of hironic because nintendo and sega used to be rivals, and now when they work together they make great games like F-Zero GX/AX, and now they are making mario and sonic at the olympic WINTER games, also this year looks like a good year for sega because The Conduit and MadWorld are the two most anticipated games for the wii and they´re both being published by Sega.

Games always come out on Tuesdays. March 1st is a Sunday. Unless it's a huge first party game like Pokemon, games ship on Mondays and come out Tuesdays.

It wasn't really the fact that a Sonic game had guns that made it kind of suck.
It was just that Sega did a sucky job of impementing them. If Sega had gotten help from other companies to teach them how to get weapons working it could have been much better.
And if they hadn't completely nerfed the homing attack and at least let it remain an option.

Not really. They had an idea and it fell through. Hell, every company has done that. Final Fantasy 10-2 anyone? Hell, Square Exix is more notorious for taking risk and them backfiring than sega. The idea was there but the presentation was not. I mean, really, when you had all the rest of Shadows moves already kicking ass it was like...why do you need the guns, you know? You have to make it balanced and sadly, they didn't. But Shadow was an okay game...it's no Unleashed! But ok.

I disagree with you both about shadow, it was a pretty good game and i enjoyed the gun feature, the game, was fast paced and the score was ok, the only problem i had was the missions, where it seemed very stupid, or hard. but other wise it was a fun and great game and I found it quite refreashing to play.

Werehog was pretty cool, though some of the fights in the game just got ridiculously hard

This game is like the least funny game of Sonic. They're FOUR bosses, all easy. The only one that give me trouble is the King Arthur. WTF ?! And for god's sake, the cut-scenes were in animated pictures ! Check it, it's really awful ! Sega is falling...

I approached this just like you, and it's a pretty decent game. Changing the controls from Secret Rings was a definite improvement and people just need to accept this isn't their Genesis sonic anymore. Unleashed was pretty good as well.

Here's how I see it. What makes Mario so popular in his games? The fact they stayed with a constant formula. What "killed" Sonic was that he became slow. His games were originally fast paced and thinking on your feet. When he converted to 3-D he slowed down way to much, and now they're trying to counter act that with Unleashed and the Storybook Chronicles. They're good games, but just not as successful as the original games.

Graphic's don't make a console, Generations are not built up apon them. The Wii is a "Next Gen" console because its the next generation from the Gamecube, thats how it works not what its classed in terms of hardware.

sonic games are always way better on nintendo consoles and that´s kind of hironic because nintendo and sega used to be rivals, and now when they work together they make great games like F-Zero GX/AX, and now they are making mario and sonic at the olympic WINTER games, also this year looks like a good year for sega because The Conduit and MadWorld are the two most anticipated games for the wii and they´re both being published by Sega.

Games always come out on Tuesdays. March 1st is a Sunday. Unless it's a huge first party game like Pokemon, games ship on Mondays and come out Tuesdays.

Well, maybe its different in Canada.(I apologize if you live in Canada) All I know is that I reserved a copy and they said they'd have the game by March 1st. Maybe that means they get it in this Tuesday(even though Nintendo Power said its not coming until March). I just know that I'm getting my reserved copy on Sunday, March 1st 2009. It wasn't really the fact that a Sonic game had guns that made it kind of suck.
It was just that Sega did a sucky job of impementing them. If Sega had gotten help from other companies to teach them how to get weapons working it could have been much better.
And if they hadn't completely nerfed the homing attack and at least let it remain an option.
