Generally not in the 124cc version, it will have between 0,1 and 0,2 horsepower more than a single OHC. (both tuned)

yea although there are a number of advantages to DOHC, even on small engines. im a big fan of them :)

with dohc you get more torque from a lower rpm with a smoother power delivery, better throttle response. i think the extra camshaft is worth about 20% more power if tuned right!

Of course, but in these relatively small engines it wouldnt give you that much better performance. I just think its too complicated in an engine where simpler often is better. The takegawa superhead almost matches the engines output by a small margain compared to a DOHC.

I wouldnt do it simply because its way too expensive, but I could see why someone would want to do it.

yea i agree, it is quite a costly extra, and sometimes simpler is better. however if i was making my own engine its definatly something i would be prepared to pay for, and when you addd up how much it would cost you to generate about 10-20% more power from other means, it starts to look cheap :P
