  • Lechmere Station is about to become history. Any1 with a camera, please document every inch of that area. Once it is gone...it's gone forever! ... Just like North Station & Sullivan Square.

  • @zyzlnwh That's not true. Infact, the MBTA is planning on an EXTENTION beond Lechmere. It's defenetally NOT going away any time soon.

  • @zyzlnwh Oops! Correcting myself, you are right. There will be an extention beond Lechmere, but the MBTA will re-locate Lechmere. Actually, as of now, I think the old Lechmere is now closed for good.

  • That fare box looks very much like the fare boxes in the buses.

  • @tpirman1982 I think they are about the same, I could be wrong though.

  • you know u could stayed on to go around again

  • No I couldn't have, I asked to ride around the loop and the operator said no.

  • look at the shots near the end. the train leaves on the el and you get on and it looks like the same 1997 train

  • ok thanks for clearing that up for me

  • 2:13 and 2:55 looks like the same train

  • They are, that was a different train leaving

  • 1:09 Green line with old big T logo

  • Comment removed

  • the green line doors with the chimes always slam closed

  • Motors sound like the same as the R142As.

  • yeah your right and another thing i forgot to mention was the black floor instead of brown

  • The new tunnel connector is interesting. The last time I took the Green Line, The old EL was still there!

I was quite confused the last time I came out of North Station and had to take the Orange Line.

It will be very interesting to see what comes of the Medford extension should that happen.

  • Yeah I miss that el, the only time I ever rode it was when I was 7 with my mom once but I still have nice memories of it

  • i see they were quick to add "west end" to the science park name

  • Since they knocked down the Washington st El this is the only elevated right of way left in Boston (not counting Charles/MGH). They better leave it alone!

  • I really hope it stays (or gets extended) when/if they extend the green line to Medford. The view is so nice with a skyline of Boston out one side and parks, Bunker hill, and the Zakem bridge out the other side.

  • wow it all changed since the last time i was in that area of boston from goverment center to lechmere

  • Yeah if you were here before 2004 it was all elevated from Haymarket to Lechmere, is that what you mean?

  • no i mean after northstation that tunnel and down to west end and lechmere looks all new
