  • Im dreaming of deserts and fast motorbikes right now!

  • Great song but this version, in comparison to the amazing earlier "Tube" (TV show) version, really doesn't do it justice.

  • Brings back great memory's, great sound!.

  • i remember much press mumbling about the gal singing being a 'tranny' i couldnta cared less this song is fabulous and is one of the least pwl sounding 7'' ers [a pop rock track no less - with a 'dance' sheen] didnt rob halford and judas priest call round at pwl as well?? theres a 'french' version of there follow up plug me in which was v nice too [shoulda been the a side!] e culture? uve never heard insecure me 12'' by soft cell 'take a triple letter 2 make me feel better' lol
  • A forgotten gem

  • A forgotten gem

  • I love this song it reminds me of a holiday in Crete in 1988. So some memories after all lol

  • brilliant tune.this song used to lift my spirits up when i was down back in 1987.

  • love it love it love it

  • Beautiful. This song always lifts the spirits. It's such a well crafted pop record. Maggie's vocal is just immense and the bridge towards the end just soars. Definitely one of the best 'disco' tunes of the 80's and a lovely encapsulation of the purity of the first Balearic wave of E-culture. Viva Scarlet Fantastic!

  • am a humper ad dae the big yin

  • oh maggie, what a cell-mate you'd make!

great song, has not lost its sparkle, hard to believe its age. or mine for that matter!!

  • I love this!!!

    xoxo

  • terrific , the 80s were the best decade!

  • Love the London flashbacks!

  • Can you hear Linn Drum? The ubiquitous PWL drum machine which was credited on every single as if it were a person. Same sounding drum as ALL their hits. Fab!

  • Can't believe this only got to 24 with Gallup! Stomping, blissful, no worries track

  • always loved this song

  • Into my favourites it goes..

    thank for you the memories!

  • the most underrated track of 1987. it wasnt a pwl written track but it was a produced by them.

  • loved it

  • made my night!!! Flashes of fun dance through my mind!

  • Very& very good indeed.

  • The State Dale St Liverpool 1988. Do not approach this comment unless you know what your talkin bout.

  • I vaguely remember this I think the chorus and ah ah's are so familiar!!!Very nice.

  • Yes, ah ah's B52s maybe...????

  • I was a student in Bournemouth , when this song became a hit in the winter of 1987, I saw this video only once, from a t.v. store window. Now 21 years later I find it here.

  • That's why I'm so glad for the internet and YouTube!!!

  • Plug me in got to no 67 in the charts `87 and is good too.

  • love this tune

  • Definately 1987 when it was a hit,(it may have been a re-release, ..not sure) I think the lead singer was "Maggie DeMonde" or something like that, I know they were from Birmingham,UK, great song, good memories

  • I remember it well. Excellent

  • 1983 if my 'memory' is correct!!

  • It came out October 1987

  • what year was this out?

  • Maggie K De Monde :)

You'll find her on the SF site and myspace too

  • cheers m8, wonder if she still fit lol, must of been 87-88

  • I actually managed to find their entire album "24 hrs" in a 4-album torrent of rare 80s albums (you can look it up on google...). It's really good. The songs are very fleshed-out... this is more of a grower album than something you might like instantly. Kind of a pity how some musicians enter the scene for just a second but leave behind such interesting music that leaves you wanting more.

  • Great Tune and video , brings backthe memories . She was realy tasty ! bucks.

  • One of my all time fav 80's track, basically we don't give a F*^K tonight...happy times!

  • Star children of the world unite ... we're gonna be electric ...

  • Was always played at the Downham tavern all-dayers and bonnies in bellingham.

    Top Times....

  • Jonathon King tried to make it a hit by playing it on 'No Limits' (responsible for Jenny Powell!) week after week. Great single, anyone remember follow up single 'Plug Me In (To The Central Loveline?)..

  • Do you remember a song by LITTLE STEVEN called OUT OF THE DARKNESS. That also got loads of airplay on NO LIMITS. Bloody good show that!

  • No I don't remember that one, maybe if I heard it I would. I loved No Limits, went to the awards show they had in Manchester and saw Carol Decker and met Jenny Powell, very exciting for a 14 year old!!

  • Haha I remember this! Don't think I would admit it if I'D snogged the singer! Good riff!

  • Fantastic. Caught an old episode of Never Mind the Buzzcocks and this cropped up on it. Now desparate to find it on download. Loved it then so good to hear it again.

  • this song is available to download on itunes

  • Forgot how good this was.

    What happened to this duo?

Did they ever release an album(s)?

  • Yes. They did release one album titled "24 Hrs" which featured No memory as one of the singles. Rhythm of Resistance was also another cool song on the LP. The album is an amazingly overlooked one. I can send you the whole album if you're interested.

  • how can i get a copy ?

  • Not many people realise this, but this song was being played alongside very early acid house in the late 8's, atleast in Liverpool anyway. It was an acid house anthem!

Love it, but more so without the video....:o/

  • yeah in "the state"

  • Yeah Grock.... in the state!!!

Wish I could say I was there, but was 12/13 at the time, but I knew people that went and I knew that song was getting played, and I wanted to go, BADLY!
