  • excellant video worked as a mechanic on cp crews for 25 years in canada and logan shops at winnipeg glad to see that the u.s .boys work as hard as us canucks

  • @bakkenboy we know you guys work just as hard because you guys beat us in the annual spike-off every year. even know rumors say you gets get softer ties, but this year we were defeated in our own yard in minneapolis.

  • the machines are spike puller, scrap loader(a new one), 445 speedswing, plate plucker, chemical plugger(very dangerous),tie cribber adzer, and regulator. The next is setup crew, just a bad blade and had to replace it, then a tie crane with two carts, chasee tamper(old),spiker, anchor machine(i run those). Lots or machines were missed on this steel gang you took video of, but overall thats pretty close to what happens everday at work for steel gangs. Plus lots of other things go on too. good job

  • Thanks for the info. I found it interesting that they only replaced one rail. Also it was very warm 90 F that day so they didn't have to heat the rail. I was hoping for a thermite weld but no luck.

    Thanks

  • Which RR?

  • This is the Canadian Pacific mainline between Chicago and Minneapolis
