  • when i first saw the office i thought it was a real documentary. I was completely baffled.

  • the last scene is pure gold.

  • @kustomkure Speaking of obnoxious...

  • Doing what he does best: talking a load of shit. haha

  • Comment removed

  • I think this show had THE best opening line in any show I've ever seen: 'I don't give shitty jobs.'

  • americans dont do subtitles or dub movies/series. they remake them. how about being a little open to other cultures? no i dont mean invade or oppress or trade with them. just.. being open.. like.. appreciating a different angle. no dont change the angle. why do you have to add a happy ending? we're all gonna die. what do you mean, death doesnt sell? o ffs, im out of here.

  • oh jesus christ would you all SHUT THE FUCK UP! whats gunna happen if you win the argument is god going to descend down and give you a fucking prize!"

  • 1 person dislikes Brent??? What the fuck is wrong with some people?? The funniest character in television history and someone doesn't like him. Ridiculous

  • I have actually had a manager who was EXACTLY like him and he didnt know.... he was like a cross between David Brent and Chief Wiggum.

  • "Tim Canterbury.....The Canterbury Tales......by Chaucer......and Shakespeare."

Makes me laugh every time I watch the Tim and David Scene.

  • "I don't have time for the pie thing David"

"pie thing you don't want it, no"

Hahaha. Cracks me up every time.

  • That last clip is absolutely amazing!

    Thank god for british comedy.

  • notwithstanding the cruel-to-be-kind scenario, so...

  • haha absoloute genius i love this montage

  • The UK version is more of a fly-on-the-wall comedy, whereas the US version is a straight-up sitcom.

  • I love how everyone thinks so highly of themselves just because they like the UK version more. Pathetic.

  • @shanewolfe610: I know. I hate that egotistic bullshit.

"Hurr durr, somehow our taste in television determines our intelligence!"

  • One person is viewing this video through a keyhole, when really they should be...

  • The thing is, the original office you can actually believe that you are watching an office. It's like you are actually watching a documentary.

  • @gingerfrank86 That's the idea

  • @CosmicOzric Yeah, but they do it so well you actually forget that it is just a comedy programme and think it is real life!

  • "I dont have time for the pie thing, David"

"You dont have time. You don't want it.. no."

  • I actually think American humour is more intelligent. Sure it's pretty slapstick, but look at the timing and execution of the things that make people laugh. That's something that not everyone can do. British humour is only fully understood by the British but American humour is accessible to everyone. That being said I'm a Brit so my preference is for the UK version.

  • @hatsthemax Not entirely true. I'm from Serbia and I adore all the work Ricky has done in the UK (including Extras and all the Carl Pilkington stuff). On the other hand, the holywood stuff he's done (like The Invention of lying, Ghost Town etc.) I found rather appalling. But I can't say I'm one of many, so u got the point in a way... Plus the USA got some nasty advertising, so theres one more reason their version of the Office is "more popular".

  • @hatsthemax how can it be more intelligent if it's more slapstick. I'm Irish and i think British humour is far better than Yank humour. Sure there are US comedy series like Friends that have done great worldwide but then you look at Fawlty Towers which is legendary not just in the British isles but internationally too.

  • bedroomcam.t k

  • trust > encouragement > reward>

    <loyalty

    (satisfaction)

  • Its like Ricky Gervais said, people need to judge them as two completely different shows, and get the full enjoyment out of them.

There both great. Better then most of the shit on t.v anyway.

  • Awesome.

  • Some brits are such assholes, the US version is hilarious, UK's probably is too. Personally, the UK version is harder for me to watch because there's a lot of terms they use that i don't know cus Americans don't use them.

  • @senorjiveturkee

no, it's because the American version has become a laugher track sit come for money and lost the Mockumentary view A LONG time ago. I mean, why would a documentary team be hanging around an office for so long? Money for Americans!

plus, the characters are awful. Steve Carrell is quite good but he saves it from being total shit

  • @RDprodx So it can't be funny unless it's a mockumentary? The characters are awful? every single character on that show is hilarious (in their own way). Also, the only time i ever see an argument over this topic is when i watch a UK office clip, ergo most Brits feel like they need to defend their show much more than any Americans do.

  • @senorjiveturkee

Well, obviously english people will defend their's because it came first i.e the right to it. But I meant the Office (US Version) IS a mockumentary. But it's lost realism in it's longevity.

  • @senorjiveturkee I chalk it up to a general insecurity

  • @RDprodx dwight is ok to but the best caracter is creed but the british one is the best

  • The US Office is a broader show designed to appeal to the masses. Its funny but nothing like as dry or subtle as the original. Smart people should like the original more,

  • @Edgey1988 That's not true. I understand what you mean, but I like the other US scenes/actors better, like Pam, Roy, Creed, Dwight.

  • @Edgey1988: "Smart people should like the original more"

No, smart people don't go around accusing other people of not being smart if they differ on opinion concerning something as trivial as a fucking T.V. show.

  • @Edgey1988 so if i like the us version more, i am therefore not smart?

  • @Edgey1988 Smart people should like the original more? that makes no sense. humour doesn't define someone's intelligence.

But yeah. original office - superior to the US.

  • @Edgey1988 Extremely ignorant comment. I like the UK office as I understand and can appreciate the humor. I still like the US version better. It is true, that to understand dry humor it is easier if you are intelligent but it is very ignorant to say that if you like other types of humor that are perhaps more straight forward and less dry, than you are not as smart as people who like dry humor. Are you really so insecure that you attempt to use your taste in television as a boost of confidence?

  • @thespennyb This is the original though, and the original can never be beat!

  • @22ness0hayden Haha fair enough!

  • @Edgey1988 English version takes a bit more effort to understand the humour.

  • @Edgey1988 The US office is very funny, its different to the UK office a different type of comedy.

  • @Edgey1988 I'm clever as shit, and I like them equally.

  • @tremontirocks Anyone stating that they are 'clever as shit' are retarded.

  • @Edgey1988 American's need comedy to be more 'obvious'

  • @Edgey1988 like me! yay

  • @Edgey1988 ow ffs US version eats the Brittish one for breakfast.

  • @kustomkure good joke.

  • @kustomkure Either the subtleties and intellect goes straight over your head, or you have a very simple sense of humour. sure the US version is funny but it is so obvious rather than subtle and clever.

  • @Heknow1989 I hardly managed to get through your thick British accent, but US version is as smart and as subtle as the original. All the characters are much better written, the screenplay is incredibly elaborate, actors are top-notch. One Raynn Wilson easily eats all the original staff for breakfast. It's a fact, Though I love Martin Freeman.

  • @kustomkure Did I really just see someone compare the US version to the original masterpiece? You are on your own there bud.

  • @joshuahman can you breathe ok with your head up your ass? US version owns the hell out of the obnoxious original.

  • @kustomkure who wrote the american office?

  • @chileychellew13 what do you mean who wrote? that is a stupid question. The right one is - who writes the Office?

  • @Edgey1988 are you serious ? xD OMG loving yourself is an issue to some people ..

  • @drexl359

your an idiot it was clearly a joke, i was impersonating the sort of morons you always get commenting, morons just like you who rise to the bait and think everything is always so serious.

  • oh god why does everyone always have to fucking argue about everything? office us is one of the best tv shows of all time, im english and i think the office US thats right the american version, is better. Now i also love the english version (fuck off with the UK shit there were fuck all people from anywhere other than england in the office) so just chill out accept that my taste is superior and stop arguing. morons

  • @postmasterw00t OH GOD OH GOD IM FUCKING RETARDED HURR HDURF FUCK HURR DURR DURRFFF

  • @kpotassium

if you are actually reatarded then you have my sympathy, if your pretending to be retarded to somehow make a point then i pitty you, retarded people are born that way and its unfair to make fun of them.

  • @postmasterw00t if you actually have terrible taste then you have my sympathy, if you're pretending to have a horrible sense of humor to somehow make a point then i pitty you, americans are born that way and it's unfair to make fun of them.

  • @kpotassium

LOL @ lack of originality, get laid pal

  • @postmasterw00t Alas, I will never be as original as you... it saddens me that I will never come up with anything as original as telling someone to 'get laid'. woe is me.

  • @kpotassium

dont worry about it, im sure you will get there one day, just be yourself

  • @postmasterw00t

    "US version is better"

    "Superior taste"

    TWO DIFFERENT GENRES

    US VERSION: sitcom

    UK VERSION: mockumentary

They're both SUPPOSE to be mocku-comedies but the US version has become too unrealistic.

I mean, why would a documentary crew be hanging around the SAME office for what? 8 seasons?

UNREALISTIC. the jokes are shit too. Very American.

  • Hey Hey! We're all brothers, aren't we?

How about a little free love on the free love freeway?

  • all americans are cunts!

  • @EdwardFinnigans

Wouldnt go that far, thought they are very fat and very rude.

  • it seems like you're all ignorant... but elliotcaddy is an absolute dick for saying americans are cunts in the first place

  • Trust, encouragement, reward, loyalty, satisfaction

  • Fucking americans they're all a bunch of cunts

  • @elliotcaddy At least you can understand an American when they speak.....You unfunny toothless serfs speak like your singing a song........ugh!

  • @pillowbugg Really? I need subtitles when I hear Americans 'talk'. Also if you're going to use our language, at least be able to spell and use grammar kid.

  • @TheUnreaI It's not surprising you couldn't understand proper english written out for you. The queen must have reduced funding for your education......IDIOT!

  • @pillowbugg Stop using our language fatty. Keyboard warrior.

  • @pillowbugg Go cry over 9/11 you ignorant yank prick

  • @elliotcaddy You fuckers are BOOOOORRRRRINGG!!!! And can't even think of a witty putdown.......Pathetic!

At least you pay a family to live the rich life, while you live in poverty....LOL! Serf.

  • @pillowbugg oh dear.... Had the troll had his feed? You're to them that we're losers by arguing on a video where the Brits made a show that we just had to mimic, you pathetic little douchebag...

  • @yerty2000 And, like everything else, we made it better!

  • @pillowbugg What a load of shite mate. just what exactly have you made better? take sport for example. You can't play any of the worlds sports so you just make up your own bullshit ones which are so shit that they fail to influence reall people in real countries. pathetic.

  • i don't agree with that in the workplace

  • Gotta love the pie metaphor xD

  • So painfully true to life :)

  • Great show.

  • Last bit, greatest opening scene... ever

  • love this show.

  • brilliant. pie
