  • Tampaslice, you could not be more wrong! I don't know where you got your "facts" from. I personally know one of the families that were injured - the life threatening injuries. Their son had bleeding on his brain and nearly died as did his mother. They spent a long time recovering in the hospital and rehab. They will never be the same again and have suffered greatly. Shame on you!

  • Accident was blown way out of proportion...as usual. The blood was caused by the infants being trampled by adults that were running away. Fireworks harmed nobody, the human panic that set in caused all the injuries, an aluminum chair caused the blood. Pathetic how blown out of context this accident was.

  • WHAT YEAR WAS THIS?

  • '07

  • they should of done fireworks the next year the laser light show was ok but fireworks are symbolism to are nations Independence. if you ride a bike and you fall down get up and try again. if you want to sing and you get your big break and you make a mistake keep on singing. if are founding fathers were here they would have fireworks as if we were trying to blow up the world... Let There Be SULFUR for are founding fathers honer for my honer and for all of vienna!

  • i was there that day!!

  • yea now in vienna dare going to do a laser show...but they have down fireworks soooo many years...its kinda sad

  • I was there.I usually watch from a parking lot, but I was early my 9 year old & I went to the field. We sat on the softball infield & the entire time we were rained on by pieces of fireworks; some still on fire. There were actually a couple of fireworks that exploded near the crowd, but one on the left hit a light pole and exploded just above the crowd. We never really knew someone was hurt until we were pushed off the field so the helicopter could land.

  • probably in the other accidents there were uncute children or a old man it was the children getting hurt that made it a big deal

  • Wes,

    Thanks for sharing.

For a number of years, I had taken my family to the Vienna, VA for the annual fireworks show, always showing up early in the day to grab the best available front-row seating. For reasons I can't recall, after discussing the 2007 Vienna show w/ family, we ended up going elsewhere.

Hard to know what to say.

I hope all injured parties have recovered and are doing well.

  • omg it was so scary, there was blood every where it looked like vietnam, and i saw i kid whos head was blown of, realy gross.

  • no dat didnt hapen at all i live there

  • It was so weird. I was near the community center (about 30-40 feet away) when this happened and being as dumb as i was thought that it was part of the show. Me and my friends were actually laughing at this time.I only realized what had happaned when i heard something wizz by me, but no explosion. When the lights went back on, in the grass was an unexploded firework. One i saw the firework on the ground about 10 feet away i said out loud," HOLY SHIT". But i still didnt no anyone was hurt.

  • I was there. I think it was the scariest moment of my life. There was blood every where. I was very close to someone who's leg caught on fire. 7 blankets away. His leg was very bloody. I heard sirens and wanted to cry and I did. There was also a helicopter there. I'll never forget this day.

  • ugh what a horrible night, though for me, I had no idea, since I was in the back of the crowd. I'm glad I didn't go any closer! I made some videos of my own up on youtube (do a search for vienna virginia fireworks 2007 and you'll see them) - but honestly had no idea except the sirens I heard, until I got home that night...

  • what the hell. this company and the manufacturer are fuckin dipshits

  • actually, the company has been cleared of blame because the fire marshall had signed off on it. They also went above and beyond by placing sand bags around the boxes to protect them. It was a freak accident.

  • yeah i was 10 ft away from them and i saw a kid w/ blood on it. me and my friends started running away.

  • Yeah, I was there too. Scared the crap out of me when one of the loud flasher fireworks exploded 20 feet above my family and I. I hope all that are hurt are making a recovery.

  • yeah i was there. at the finale a fire started and all the ppl who had to set up the fireworks and had to run, so the tubes that hold up the fireworks fell down, so the instead of the fireworks shooting up they shot right at the crowd, one went right by us, and then one of them hit 2 little boys and there was blood all over their faces.. and there were tons of ambulances and stuff. all together 14 ppl got hurt.
