  • Hmm....Which is better? ATi Radeon 4870/4890 or Radeon 5770?

  • @leonxwerty

HD 4890 is overclocked HD 4870 which is just a little bit better than HD 5770.

  • Whats crossfire?

  • @MrSAboy210 Running to ati cards on one motherboard for added graphical power, for nvidia its called sli.

  • nice box:D

  • @supadude23 lol dude that thing is prob like 400$

  • dude wow i have the ATI-Radeon-HD-4000-Serie and i run wow max everything woth 60fps

  • @goodvocalcover Not hard to do...

  • can this work on a hp pavlilon p6310y? Please let me know i have a 600 wat psu and i have the 6 pins please let me know quick

  • @moldycheeto1 Probably.

  • @speedvaxer it will run if you have room and a pciex16

  • @x30x208344023x3z0384 LOL O MAN SO FUNNY!!!

  • @speedvaxer

    PLZ ANSWER

    Will this work on

    a netbook?

  • @HandyManny00Lobos A netbook like a small laptop?

Graphics cards like these are for desktop computers.

  • u said u bought a new power supply right? u have to have atleast a 500watter in order to supply the power fr the graphics card

  • @selfish3r1k96 Yea it says in the description- i got a 550W Corsair

  • hey i have dula core E2200 and xfx 630i motherboard 2 gb ddr2 ram and 500 watt psu and i have his hd 4870 1gb can i run crysis gta 4 with max settings, can i get around 25-30 fps

  • your pc looks like my old hp a1020n

  • @TheGuiletech Haha yea its pretty old. Got it two years ago. Im going off to college so I wont be using a desktop anymore. I actually havent used my desktop at all this past year.

  • @speedvaxer You should sell me your card! :o

Buy it off ya for 100 bucks usd! :P

  • i like the cards that have actual games in em!

  • Iceq4 version have better cooling...

  • @Moution23 Yea.

  • Dont touch with you bare hand!!!!!!!!!! electro static damage!!!!!!!!!!! oh dont bump it into the table you animal!!!!!!!!, oh sorry, its just that Im such a ATI fan

  • haha sorry man. i made sure not to touch the bottom circuits

  • @Moution23 lol

  • how do you like your 4870? i was looking at the 4890 but they have alot of over heating problems, so i think i with just get the 4870 its $50 cheaper also :) I will be upgrading from a 4830 so I should get a great fps boost all around

  • i like it a lot. i dont game in general that much anymore but its awesome

  • Does it come with 2 6 pin connectors?

  • I have the same card coming to my house right now, I have one question though, do u only need to hook up one molex 6 pin connector to the card or do i have to go out and buy another one? It looks like it only came with only 6 pin molex adapter

  • @m0nt3s needs two 6 pin connectors

  • I have the same version of the card but the Iceq4+ version. Love the card. One tip, it runs really hot and the fan doesnt really get faster, not enough to make a difference. In the catalyst control center under overdrive you can manually set the fan, for gaming i put it up to 60% and it runs at like 46 C

  • Would really appreciate a reply!!

Would this fit in a Mini ATX case?

  • @hammer280 im sure. its not as big as people think it is

  • I still have my 4670 , and it serves me well , nice video , I love that card .

  • @lasjd11 thanks yo

  • @lasjd11 yeah i got one too its still nice :)

  • Oh, and where did you purchase it? I am considering to get one myself!

  • how long is it?

  • THAT IS 512 MB NOT 1GB

  • I HAS 1GB VERSION N00B. No, really, there's 2 versions. 512MB and 1GB. I have the 1GB version. Pwns everything in sight. :D

  • ok sorry i didnt see if there were two versions

  • 1GB right on the box dumb ass.

  • ok i wanto get one of these

  • @PredatorWolf1 its truly a great card

  • @speedvaxer i´ll get one

  • Awsome VIdeo 5/5

  • Thanks man really appreciate it.

  • hey, your computer case is HP pavillion m7160n right? Does it have the media bay???

  • Think so yea.

  • warcraft demo lol

i would be on the phone demanding a refund

  • I'm guessing that you were about to open the box and you were like "Oh crap, I have to add something to my youtube" and you grabbed the camera. lol

My 4870 is on the way, 512 though. Only running 1600x900 for the moment.

  • lolz 4870's are sooo old you should have got 57** series card

  • I sold my 8800gtx for 80 and I got the 4870 for 90 shipped. Can't complain, really. I like the card so far, though I need more system RAM now lol.

  • I have a HIS 4870 iceqt4+ on its way to my house now... I cant wait lol so stoked. Upgrading from a 8800GT that went bad. Been cooking it in the oven to keep it alive until I get the card haha

  • Nice its a great card.

  • i have the same processor but i have ati 3850

  • @gazzxr ah nice. yea i know my processor is weak but im not an intense pc gamer, so im good

  • kinda worried me when you said only 300watt haha then you mentioned ordered a new one

  • waht it this crosfire?

  • @dragonball1111111

When you run dual video cards.

  • this video run in a intel core 2 duo-mother gigabite GA-G31MX-S2??

  • Comment removed

  • Nice video

  • your mother board kinda looks small tho

  • Nice card. how is it running?

  • Running great. Haven't been playing games or anything recently, but i have had no problems.

  • is there a difference between the 512mb and 1GB card PERFORMANCE WISE. My friends say you need 1 GB for Crysis and GTA IV. Is it true?

  • @hotbodyboy well for those 2 games yes. but if you have a small monitor like 20" and under u might just get a 512mb coz 1GB would be a waste. but if u have a 22" or above u have to get a 1GB card for better FPS

  • Dude i have 17'' only 1280 x 1024. So i guess that will be an overkill for my card. So i think i can run this card(BTW i am talking about 5850 not this one) for around 6 years in this res considering that if i overclock i will get 5870!!

All i want is GREAT FPS. Just tell me i can get a great FPS in all current games like DAO and MW 2 using 5850 on my 17''

  • @hotbodyboy wella 5850 is a great chioce :)

  • @hotbodyboy A 5850 is overkill at that resolution. A 4870 512MB would be more than plenty. You'd be banging out high frame rates no problem on a 17" Monitor. Maybe even a 5770?

  • yeah but my E6600 processor and P5ld2 vm se ASUS motherboard and 2 GB ram are proving to be a bottleneck. So i am doing some changes in my Config. Any suggestions?

  • @hotbodyboy Maybe look into upgrading to a better CPU, RAM and Mobo. Imo, a 4870 512MB will play most games brilliantly on a 17", even with the bottlenecks. You could try saving up and buying a decent-cheap Quad Core CPU and RAM. Obviously the Mobo may have to be upgraded too.

  • Thanks for the vid. Exactly what i needed it before actually buying the card. Thanks!

  • Where did you buy it and how much did you pay for it???

  • omg omg omg... whats the 3 lines in the middle?!!!!! wad does it say?!!!!!

omg omg omg... i see things in the black window...

    nice graphics card~ :D

  • What a noob: "This is my hand..."

  • What a noob: your picture.

  • I appreciate the positive feedback

  • lol

  • stupid fagget no one gives a shit

  • Eh Your processor is gonna bottleneck it unless you buy a new one :p

  • damn i love the cooling systems from HIS

  • Nope, desktop.

  • Wow great Rig for a 2007 buy and nice Video Card.

  • wats the difference between his, xfx and ati? wat one is the best? ati?

  • Well.. let me explain this to you .XFX and HIS are brands that makes video cards with diffrent cooling systems, looks diffrent and so on...and ATI are the guys that makes the chipsets for those brands . And btw HIS makes the best cooling for those video cards.

  • HER makes the better cooling than HIS~ :D

  • im gettting an XFX radeon hd 4870 1b

  • Hey if i buy this with 2gb & dual gpu technology can it run Cod 4 ?

    thanks

  • Yup. Mine runs Cod4 on high settings.

  • Awesome :)

if you know whats your basic fps = frames per second

to show it open console & type

    /draw fps 1

    Thanks :)

  • ehh, thats pretty good, mines a lot better though, i have a

    " XFX Radeon HD 4870 x2 2gb"

  • my HIS Radeon was broken when it came...

  • hahaha: "Oh, look! Warcraft demoooo ^^"

  • You get the card in just a plastic cover? No ESD protection bag?! That could destroy the card during the delivery you know...

  • my XFX one came in a ESD protection bag.

  • That plastic cover offers the same ESD protection, same way most EVGA cards are shipped, my 9800GT came that way and its fine:)

  • Let me guess, you're either using an HP or Compaq PC right? Becuase my case looks very identical to yours xD

    BTW, what model is it?

  • Alright so im thinking about making a new computer here are everything listed anybody got any tips or am I missing something? .$178- Intel Core 2 Qhad 2.4 GHZ Processor .$184- XFX nForce 790i Ultra SLI -Motherboard ATX .$109- 750W TX Series 80 Plus Power Supply .$70 - PNY 2-Pack 4GB DDR2 SDRAM DIMM .$250 X2- XFX - ATI RADEON HD 4870 1GB DDR5 PCI E .$150- PCI E Professional Series Sound Card .$250- 22" Gateway Monitor

    .$50 - PCI Modem

    .$100 -PC Case

    Total: $1,591

  • maybe you shouldnt spend the extra money getting a sli mobo. maybe get a cfx mobo so you can upgrade cards later down the road. or you could get a nvidia card?

  • dont bother with the modem, you can prolly find one kickin around for cheap$ put that extra $50 into a hard drive

  • 2:23 - I don't know what's 'that' thing use for.

  • Its an adapter that converts from a 6pin PSU adapter to a 4pin or vice versa

  • Open it up lol!

  • how do you find out what kind of power supply is in my computer?

  • Open up your case and check your power supply & C how many watts it has most likely it will only have 300watts.

  • Hey, do you think this graphics card could handle my PC?

-AMD athlon 64 X2 dual core processor 5000+

    -4 gigabytes of ram

    -500 GB HD memory

    -22" HP w2216h monitor

  • Yes, but u need 450w - 500w on the power supply. Check that.

  • Yea you'll be more than fine, but as zitoleo said you'll need atleast a 450W PSU

  • Alright, I checked my PSU and it's 550 watts. I also have another question, what is better, a Nvidia 9800 GT 1GB or the one you currently have (ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB).

  • LOL, 4870. The 9800 GT is slow compared to the radeon. But the 9800 GTX+ is possibly faster (depends what you're doing).

I think you need a 600 watt PSU at least, i can't remember.

  • Nope. The 9800 GTX+ is slower than the HD 4870, and so is the GTS 250, which is just a rebranded 9800GTX+. The HD 4870 is also faster than the GTX 260, and is competing against it. Not to mention that it's also at a lower price. The 9800 GTX/GTS 250 is competing against the Radeon HD 4850, and they're somewhat slower than it.

    Do some research.

And to run this GPU it's recommended that you have a 500 Watt Power Supply, not 600.

  • honestly i can't remember right now... D: it's like 4:00 AM

I probably mixed up the 4830 with 4870.

  • The one you currently have walks over the 9800 GT. The Radeon HD 4870 is faster than the 260 GTX, which is a lot faster than the 9800 GT.

  • it's your power supply's output we need to know...

  • I don't know whether to spend an extra $20 for the GTX 260, or to buy this.

From what I hear, both are good. Can't tell which one to buy, anyone know?

  • I don't have any experience with the 260, but I know you'll be happy if you choose this one.

  • The 4870 is faster. Check Tom's Hardware review comparing them both. It's overall 6% faster and it costs less.

  • nice video unboxing

  • Thanks

  • im buliding my own computer planing to put one of those baby's in my computer a little bigger then that 2GB GDDR5

  • Nice

  • Works 4 me PERFECTLY here's my PC

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.67Ghz

    Maxtor 250GB SATA

    Kingston 4GB DDR2 @ 800Mhz on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 built 7201

450 W Mercury PSU (Modified for Power Connector Cables)

    Mercury PNMCP73V Motherboard

    P.S. bought it for 225 US$ :) Thanx speedvaxer

  • no problem. Thats a great price and a sweet computer

  • hey

i want to buy HD4870 1gb . but i don't know if this card good for my comruter ?

    i have Q6600+ 2.40Ghz X 4

    400 GB

    3.25 gb DDR2

    750 W

    32 Zoll monitor

    so pls reply :)

    thx

  • Yea i see no problem with you using this card.

  • ok thanks i buy now this card i can wait more thankyou . HD 4870 is coming ...

  • very nice, I'm getting a XFX Radeon HD 4870 XXX Edition 1GB in one more week, how much did it cost yours? I bought mine for $159,99. As for the rest of computer I'd say is not that great:

    - AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ @2600 MHz

    - 3 GB DDR2

    - 250GB HD

    - 550W Power

    - SyncMaster 170MP monitor

What do you say? Games are running great on your machine?

  • I think the rest of your computer is fine.

That is also a very good price. I think I paid more for mine when I got it earlier this year

  • What power supply do you currently use?

  • Corsair 550W

  • You'll be able to play on high settings.

  • ur cpu is too weak get phenom x3 720 with a nice heatsink at least

  • Im ok with mine.

  • Nice Unboxing vid!

  • Thanks!

  • this guy is a fagg.

  • lolol dude ok

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks.

  • hey np, im debating on which graphics card to get, have you had any experience with Crysis on this particular card?

  • Yup, Crysis is one of the games I own. I can play on 1680x1050 with no problems, but the framerate drops because of my processor. With a Core2Duo or something, you'd be fine.

  • so you have 4870 1gb with a single core processor?

  • AWW YEA!

  • Thanks for favoriting!

  • Pardon! Raikesi94 told the very same. No matter...

  • the processor :) This is not a belittling, don't misunderstand! My computer is a shit. :D Just you need a stronger cpu for this vga.

Bytheway the card is very nice. I buy same for my new pc. In the future... :| :D Sorry for bad english. I'm not a retarded, just a foreigner! :D:D

  • Haha it's no problem. I know what you mean though. For the games my processor is fine really. I never max things out, i just wanted a cool graphics card I could still use for the future.

I didn't really choose my computer, i just had to get one when my old one broke.

  • pretty sure you dont reach the vga limit :)

  • What do you mean?

  • LOL, "Here's my hand, and yea its pretty big" I know how you feel man you get all excited and shit, and you end up saying retarded stuff. But it's all good fun, I can't wait to tryout mine

  • Haha yea im pretty weird.

Its a sweet gfx card tho.

  • ur cpu sort of bottlenecks the 4870... but cool any way

  • Yea it does, its fine though.

  • To be honest, I'd be safe and get atleast like a 600-750 W PSU. I know HIS recommends a 500W PSU for having 1, so I'd assume you need a bit more for 2.

  • coolz vidzcard I got jealous lol

  • Haha thanks. Just to let you know, the price has gone down a lot over the past few months if you're thinking about upgrading.

  • yeaaa ur right man actually price goes down so our price is round bout 150,- euros. thats hurting me ... :(

  • Ugh yea, the price has dropped a significant amount.

O well, still a great card.

  • of course coolz card. I just need a little bit time to save money for a completely new pc :) so u ve fun with ur vid card!

  • notredame

  • lol nice cable management.

Ordered the card off a member on OCN, its expected to arrive on wednesday, can finally replace my 9800GTX

  • Nice, yea im really impressed by it, and for such a great card its reasonable cheaper than nVidia cards.

Haha you should see my case, i stuff all the cables inside this cavity where harddrives go lololol

  • I have a 750W so im gueesing this will work?

  • yup

  • iv got a 650W i think and it runs fine although i had to unplug my CD drive since i couldnt get the wire to reach it :P but thats a small sacrifice for such an amazing card

  • Yeah but you can get an extension you know

  • haha yeah i could, im just to lazy to go get one. plus i never really use CD's anymore

  • Your CPU will bottleneck. Nice card though.

  • It does bottleneck but for me my pc is still fast.

    Thanks.

  • Hey was the 300W PSU enough I mean the min recommended was 500W right? And u connected one 6 pin adapter right? What was the max Temp that u encountered?
