That's a weak & biased accusation against Lewis considering that there's only a 3 year age difference (technically 2 yrs., 10 mo., 17 days) between Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis (Holyfield being elder). Lewis wasn't necessarily a spring chicken either at the time he fought Holyfield.
Also, there are many factors that play into a fight actually happening. It's not just as easy as saying "I want to fight this guy or that guy". There's a lot to consider in terms of negotiations, publicity, contracts and timing to name a few. So many things can interfere or delay an event of that magnitude. All the conditions have to be right, in order for a "fight" to actually go down. The stars have to be lined up, so-to-speak. That being said, your point of view is just not convincing to me.

Lennox Lewis is perhaps the second most intelligent fighter among heavyweight giants. Jack Johnson was the most intelligent heavyweight fighter of all time, no doubt about that. Lewis comes next. They both have different styles no doubt about that but it's not deniable that they are both intelligent giants!

You got to hand it to all top fighers. A sportsman can have a bad day, week or season but a boxer needs to win win win. Tyson deserves respect purely because he was so much shorter yet he still won fights. He had to hit guys a foot taller then him and that is amazing as I box myself and it is actaully very hard to hit someone and especially when they are much taller. Also, there are many factors that play into a fight actually happening. It's not just as easy as saying "I want to fight this guy or that guy". There's a lot to consider in terms of negotiations, publicity, contracts and timing to name a few. So many things can interfere or delay an event of that magnitude. All the conditions have to be right, in order for a "fight" to actually go down. The stars have to be lined up, so-to-speak. That being said, your point of view is just not convincing to me.

Lennox Lewis is perhaps the second most intelligent fighter among heavyweight giants. Jack Johnson was the most intelligent heavyweight fighter of all time, no doubt about that. Lewis comes next. You got to hand it to all top fighers. A sportsman can have a bad day, week or season but a boxer needs to win win win. Tyson deserves respect purely because he was so much shorter yet he still won fights. He had to hit guys a foot taller then him and that is amazing as I box myself and it is actaully very hard to hit someone and especially when they are much taller. Tyson for his handicaps in size was amazing buy like forman had little else in terms of skill so burnt out.

Lennox Lewis is the greatest boxer in history of boxing. Even Muhammed Ali would never have a real chance against this legend. Lewis beat everyone impressive: Tyson (KO), Klitschko (TKO), Hollyfield, Tua. There is no way that anyone have a real chance against him. @mickash01 fair and true comment and i agree, but my point is that tyson was good to watch, explosive exciting and very unpredictable, but no where near as a good athlete as lewis was in his prime. with tyson being a heavy drug user, wouldn't that affect his boxing performance, thats why, i think, his opponents where carefully picked so he looked better than he was, all for entertainment and making money so not as great as people think. @mickash01 Tyson was 1000x the better athlete than Lennox Lewis. His lateral movement and speed were amazing. Lennox was slow and boring, all he ever did was jab, grab and hold his opponents, but could spot finishing opportunites. Butt I don't know why on earth Lewis was a better "athlete"?
Tyson was suicidal and a heavy drug user (as events in and around 1988 prove), and was effectively a train-wreck waiting to happen. Douglas (Tucker fight) usually unfit + unmotivated =Tyson's Fatal error

Botha (who was notorious for slowing down in the mid-point of fights) had Tyson's number in their fight, likewise Golota had already made his name as a quitter (Grant fight in '99), and was a notoriously slow starter. Another safe fight.
Between '86-'90 (Holyfield was next in line after Douglas) Tyson fought every available (not great) opponent, but dominated.

His whole career was a complete fix, a cherrypick from beginning to end.......even in retirement!
Shame on the WBC and HBO who install Oliver McCall (3 Crack cocaine related arrests in '96 / drug rehab in his training camp) as opponent for vacant title in early '97!
Then.....after he retires.......he gets offer of job at HBO!!!
