Overclock it, if you can, or want to take the risk. At stock, your CPU will be the bottleneck, but overclocked - while still a bottleneck - it will better balance your system. Get a good aftermarket cooler, those Q6600 chips got quite hot.
Dude, long time no see. I lost my beloved GTX 260 & my monitor while modding 0.82 ENB on a very hot summers night (my own fault really), from there on it all went downhill from there. My old 9800GT is almost dead, I had to underclock the thing just to stop the card from artefacting, & GTA was running less than 15fps. Upgraded a mate's PC & he gave me his 60Gb SSD drive, old Q9650, a 9800GTX+ 1Gb, & 19" LCD 4:3, now I'm running nearly 50fps, & in the 20s with FRAPS running.
My resolution Is 1920x1080 sadly but I always have my settings low... Is your graphics card better than mine for gta iv, I know that gta needs a powerful CPU I hope that gta v doesn't need so much.
My card is old, a 9800GTX+. Our cards are similar in performance, mine has a much better texture fillrate, yours has a much better pixel fillrate, while overall bandwidth is roughly the same - about 75Gb. So performance should be similar, however, my CPU is a lot better, although your CPU is old it is still fine for GTAIV.
Looks really good.. Personally I would bump up the colors just a tad more.. And the speed of your video is a bit too fast, to really apriciate the visuals.. Great to have to back, can't wait to see what you will bring in the future :)
The colour will always be a preferential thing, I don't like too much colour as it tends to look too cartoonishfor my tastes, but things like colour, bloom, HDR, will be user-configurable - so anyone will be able to adjust to suit their own tastes.
The speed of the video is more a way of getting around my slow upload speeds, this video was originally 16 minutes long and would have taken around 6-7 hours to upload, but condense it down to just 4 mins & it took just under 2 hours.
@DKTronics70 oh I see... Tell me, will this be an ENB release like icenhancer and L3EVO? with your own lensflare and mblur and stuff? What makes this different? Is this a texture pack only? what's the goal? I wanna know more :)
Every lensflare you see came from my original idea shown in the video "Sun haze Test 2", I just passed on the code & everyone else made their own versions. There will be no lensflare in this release, I don't personally like them. There will be a modified sun shader, but it is subtle. Motion blur is just stock ENB 0.79 blur, again I don't like too much blur. There will be no DOF, it's more a camera effect than a natural eye effect, & in my honest option looks best in static shots only.
You should be fine, I always make sure they run on mid-range PCs because that is what I currently have. You may have to disable SSAO for a boost to your fps, as long as you don't run the game with really high settings and a high resolution.
@aimedehaire DP3, you? Sorry, you lost me. I told you I was ignorant on this stuff. So is iCEnhancer a specific persons version of ENB while this version is DKT70's own version?
Every ENB out there is either one's own work, or a edit of someone else's work, or worse, a mixture of a few modder's ENB settings and they take a chance it will work. What you see here is a complete rewrite from scratch, or from stock files (stock ENB 0.79 files), I do not use other modder's work. The reason it looks like it does it because I tie all files together, the ENB ini & enbeffect, timecycle, and effect files.
Can't you see he's speeding up on purpose to confuse you all? Those are real cars, real environment, real buildings, real forecast, real New Yorkers dropping their umbrellas when it rains (2:55), real policemen from NYPD (3:27)...
Links are up in the description for the textures used in this video. You must use 7zip to extract the img file. Files had to be split due to using free version of Mediafire (only 200Mb limit) - and of course my poor internet speeds. Please read the description for instructions. If you want help, ask here.
Got a Q9650, and a PNY 9800GTX+ 1Gb DDR3, both passed on to me from a good friend, after he upgraded to Sandy Bridge.
The textures used in the first part of the video will be linked in the main description in a minute, just follow the instructions if you want to try them.
This mod is about 50% complete, no nights started yet, or Foggy weather.Only daytimes for the others.

I downloaded the Bohan Map.
I feel Bohan is good. I voted thumb up.
But I can't distinguish the differences from normal Bohan well.

The game is running off a fast 60Gb SSD, and the textures load almost instantly no matter where you are, or where you warp to using the trainer.
