  • I'm overwhelmed with this shared love for my beloved band, Nine Inch Nails. I read all the comments on the first page and agree with all of them so much. Especially the two top-rated comments. Nine Inch Nails is amazing and helped me get through tough times in my life.

  • These drums are hypnotic.

  • One of my favorite things to do with this album was get torched on pot and listen to it front to back with noise cancelling headphones. The album is so layered with bottomless sound that there are visuals when you close your eyes.

When that organ creeps into the mix midway though and begins to build up it feels like your slowly descending into hell. The most powerful song on the most powerful album ever created.

  • @prod1gy3000 Hell yeah!

  • @prod1gy3000 The first time I read that I read it "get torched on the pot" lmao

  • the downward spiral is what stabilized my suicidal thoughts in my childhood, instead of taking the hate out on myself (slitting my wrists) i would listen to nin to stabilize the anger and hate.

its also just a fucking great album

  • @frozenbloodbullets Something tells me it did the same for Reznor.

  • @frozenbloodbullets Thank you dude. Everybody criticizes me for listening to NIN at age seventeen because they think it's suicidal. If anything, it makes you not want to commit suicide at all, you get to vent your emotions and listen to great music, and all with the knowledge that Trent went through a suicidal phase and got over it. This make me even more compelled to be optimistic and excel in life.

  • this song is the sex

  • my comment by no means is offensive or to express any form of dislike.. it was just a statement i made.. d first thing dat came 2 my mind wen i hrd dis stuff...

  • this is d work of d Lucifer! or SATAN.. can't just be humans doing this!

  • @tulasidharan

take yer self righteous azz somewhere else.

  • @tulasidharan "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." (Isaiah 45:7, KJV) I still don't understand why people comment on music they dislike; seems like such a waste of time... NIN is the shit!

  • @bheeter7 It's easy to understand. Why do you want to comment on music you like ? People commenting on music they dislike generally have the same reason, same degree of time wastage.

  • @damens seems like more of a chore to search out things to dislike

  • @tulasidharan I'll take that as a compliment.

  • almost like he's challenging God when he screams "KILL ME!!"

  • The visuals are beautiful...the music is absolutely brilliant...

    (and Trent is so sexy...)

    This is fucking live !

  • god damn!!! <3

  • I saw this performed live back then at the Shrine in Springfield w/Marilyn Manson and Jim Rose Circus Sideshow. I've been to a lot of concerts, this is still my favorite. The cloud of pot was very clear, hovering in the Shrine. The security/cops just stared on as young girls went topless, made out, and smoke pot. The girl I was with was in her 30's (older than I at the time) as was dumbfounded, but enjoyed it. Trent Reznor is truly talented.

  • @AcmeNewsLLC I saw the same tour but it was in Carbondale IL; I was 16y and went with my cousin. The seating was first come first serve; amazingly we got first row!! So much fun even though I got kicked in the head bc of a mosh pit but it was worth it, AWESOME!!

  • Yeah pretty much the last ten years off my life have been wasted listening to this album but fuck it, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger

  • If there is a "God". It listens to NIN.

  • Eraser by Nine Inch Nails explains in so FEW word so fucking much!

Eraser cut deeply into my heart.

Nine Inch Nails in my soul.

  • Nice music and super visuals

  • This song has always blown me away. I used to sit in my room, crank this song and play the guitar to it. So relaxing. So much energy. Love you Nails for all you've done. You're a genius Trent

  • OMG amazing

  • When I bought the downward spiral album, 96 i think, I dropped a quad of acid and sat there all fucking night watching the colors. Dont think I was ever quite right after that night.

  • fucking amazing

  • trent reznor can always steal the epitome of any emotion and put it in a song that captures it perfectly, esspecially emotions like self hate, emptiness, loneliness, depression, rage. i love Nine Inch nails

  • I saw this tour in g.boro nc. I was in high school and it changed everything. Sounds really cheesy but I am 33 now and I still remember that night as a defining moment in my life.

  • My First NIN record that i heard was Pretty Hate Machine. I didn't own it but i heard it. i hated it at first, but after listening to it alot i grew to love it. Now NIN is one of my all time favorites . then i went out and Bought Broken. Then i got downward spiral

  • I think hes going to kill someone. dear god.

  • i listened to these with my ex, non stop, along with nirvana, hole and aic, plus many more cool bands. those were the days.

  • geil

  • cranck but its funny with the projector because they looks like ghost's....

  • I was here when this was recorded in Omaha, NE. I was so awesome to be part of this. :D

  • I was here when this was recorded in Omaha, NE. I was the most awesomeness thing to be apart of besides meeting Trent in '08.

  • This is my kind of scene.

  • SiCk

  • GOD I LOVE Trent's facial expressions in this!

  • Trent looks likes hes going to murder someone. wow.

  • Raw, epic, angry, brutal, dark. Nine Inch Nails

  • @superfundeathhammer you forgot "visceral"

  • Amazing... simply amazing experience... reminiscing about your past sometimes is fun.

  • Our past is what makes us into the people we will be in the future. I'm just glad that NIN was there for me to listen to in the past.

  • Amen to that

  • TDS Reznor scares me the most

  • @JesusTerminator I think I like him best then. :3

  • Saw this on acid at Fair Park on Valentines night.

  • Sick song, even sicker video! волшое спасибо!

  • Saw this show at Wings Stadium in Kalmazoo, Mi. Epic.

  • Nine Inch FUCKING Nails! too good

  • WICKED

  • omg i was 16, i feel so ancient right now XD

but i consider myself lucky having grown up on TDS, the Fragile and so on. they are landmarks in my emotional life.

this said, eraser is pure dope for my old ears

  • ditto.

  • I count you lucky as well! I was born 1993, I AM 16, and I am surrounded by Lady Gaga and Six AM...it effing blows. My Mp3 player has Nine Inch Nails, A perfect Circle, Tool, Tori Amos, and one Jefferson Airplane song!

  • we need more kids like u

  • I love your name :D

  • I listened to the same music when I was your age too. You should check out JA, they're really great. Give 'Surrealistic Pillow' a listen if you can, Grace Slick has a really beautiful voice.

  • I will ^^ Thanks much

  • Oh yeah Ive heard White rabbit, but then again I think just about everyone has :D

  • Eraser (Denial;Realization)

loud, noisy, angry, intense version of album version

  • the shit

  • Epic! Sounds like something off of a movie trailer.

  • I had the cassette of PHM, listend to it until it was almost worn out. Had the pleasure to see NIN @ the 1st Lollapalooza. Officially became a hardcore fan. Broken, literally saved my life when it came out, living in Hollywood at the time (cliche, I know). Saw NIN at an unannounced show 836 Highland, best show of my life. Have been following Trent and NIN for years and will for many more, I am sure.

  • i was less than one year old when this was filmed. great whatsoever.

  • I was about 2 or three when this was recorded. =D

  • I was 13

  • thank fuck that my teens were spent listening to nin.the downward spiral was the first nin album that i bought, when it came out,and it absolutely blew me away.still does!!!peace!!!

  • @racefaceec90 First mistake I made: I bought Year Zero first.

Second mistake I made: I logged onto nin.remix and tried to buy Ableton Pro and my shitty computer totally crapped out on me when I tried to open it.

    Derp.

  • classic

  • One of the best songs of all time on... actually not my favorite NIN album (but most other peoples). Fixed is actually one of my favorit, though it's really an EP.

  • donward spiral

  • powerful

  • when i first saw this on closure like 10 years ago it completely belw me away and took my NIN obsession to a whole new level.

we are very fortunate to be alive during the days of NIN

  • Music and film. its very exciting find a band like that. Fue una suerte haber visto todo esto en Barcelona en lal gira The fragile.

  • personally i think that self destruct's light show is way better than any other nin light show. the enormous screen is just sweet. i love how the band members will sometimes fade into the screen and then later reappear.

  • i kinda liked the northern lights show. it was interesting. tool's 10000 days show was pretty amazing as well.

  • That's a pretty damn good sceneshow.

  • Anyone know what size gauges his ears are?

  • ...?

  • What's the time signatures in this song?

  • I believe it is 4/2

  • 6/4

  • Oh yeah, I can see it now, divided by 7/8 and 5/8

  • an anthem for that one disastrous relationship that will leave me scarred for life

  • O do tell the details!

  • Trent Reznor kills off every try of 2000's alternative rock ;)

  • Wow, TR looks *so* much healthier now!

Nice video, though. Reminds me of the With Teeth tour.

  • This video gives me chills every time!!!

  • The Fragile, the best tour ever.

  • love this song. but i noticed that the beat of the drum is a little off. eh who the fuck cares!

    long live NIN!!!!!!

  • thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you ,thank you, thank you, thank you, nin, thank you trent.

  • Brings me back to both shows at MSG. They had to postpone one show a day because Fink hurt his hand. Anyone remember who opened up? Marilyn Manson, Pop Will Eat Itself and the Jim Rose Circus. What amazing shows they were.

  • 1995? incredible

  • his music has got me through alot of tough times thanks trent for your inpiration

  • NIN golden era

  • I love how when the camera zooms in on the guys they look like they're in a trance.

  • saw this live in seattle when it came through...really ground breaking at the time but the latest show in seattle for the newest tour was easily the best of more than 100 shows from various performers that i have ever seen.

  • i have never been to such a visually and emotionally stimulating experience at a live show before...happy that i have tickets for the gorge amphitheater (sasquatch fest) already. to be able to see NIN twice inside of 12 months is some kind of wonderful dream; trent is at the top of his game right now. the show falls on my birthday as well...could not be more perfect.

  • Now that Eraser and Hurt footage from SD tour are up, would love to see the third 'film' portion ... The Downward Spiral. Amazing stuff, especially at that time!

  • EPICEPICEPICEPICEPICEPICEPIC WIN

  • BOOOOYA

Just got my tix for the Philly show

Row 3 center stage... not too shabby!!!!!!!!

  • This is amazing. The first time I went to a NIN concert and I saw this song, it was one of the greatest things I ever seen.

  • omg its been ages since i saw this!

  • I was 6 =(

  • I know I will get flamed for this but this was not filmed in 1995. Trent's memory must be a bit hazy. This and the hurt live video were filmed in October of 1994 at the Universal Ampitheatre in California.

  • How do you know? I'm not angry, just curious.

  • I was at this concert when it was filmed.

  • Oh, nice.

  • Comment removed

  • I agree that Trent was definitely a bit, "hazy" at the time, but what gives you any idea that this was not filmed at any other show? I'm sure they didn't use different visuals for just that show, there must be many shows with that look very similar. And I doubt that you can recall everything exactly to the point where you can remember what positions everybody was in or their expressions or the little subtle differences between the many shows. (I'm not flaming you, just pointing out inaccuracies)

  • There were 3 consecutive shows at the Universal Ampithetre in October of 94. The filming was done on only one show, the one that I went to. Trent has talked about how he was disappointed with this footage in an interview because it was done on one night and he believed that this night sucked. That is why the DVD for the fragility tour was done over several nights.

  • Oh, alright. I hadn't realized he had specifically said they had filmed the footage at that show, my apologies.

  • i feel like that sometimes

  • I really wish I wasn't four when this tour came around.

  • i was 5. damn our parents for not having us earlier lol

  • i was 9 but still to young, damn, oh well i gotta see nin twice on their lits tour,

  • Always amazed me.

The soft ambiance of the background, and then the contradictory harsh guitar and vocals. It assaults you on both ends.

  • I LOVE THIS SONGGGG

  • You rock, this song is really deep!

  • wonderful live performance :o

  • excelent video, best fucking rock band!

    say´s from Chile!
